It's located on the SDSU campus, a great place for college students to hang out. There is no food available for sale in the bowling alley, but there is a restaurant next door, and you can go in and out, which is probably why they do it this way. I likely would have purchased something if there was something at the alley, but I didn't and felt like that was lost opportunity for the bowling alley to make more money. It's nice though that the bowling alley isn't a money grab. What I also loved about this place is that they don't have an arcade, which we all know definitely is a money grab that we have to budget for when taking kids to any other bowling establishment. They instead have pool tables, air hockey, ping pong, and a TV that can hook up to your Nintendo switch. It's nice that we can just enjoy a few games of bowling and then spend some mostly screen free time with friends. There is paid, 1 hour validated parking at the Trader Joe's nearby. It was an easy walk to Aztec Lanes.

She went above and beyond with all the little details, from the party decor to the special birthday greeting on the TV screen. Those thoughtful touches made the celebration feel extra special! And thank you to our server, David, for being so attentive and making sure all of our orders were taken care of. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate my husband's birthday. Thank you again, Lorena and David! We all had an absolute blast and made some wonderful memories!

Admission is $25, which gives you access to the games inside. I believe some of the claw machines where you grab prizes may cost extra, but I wasn't completely sure. One nice perk was that if you showed your Padres ticket, you received a complimentary hot dog, chips, and a bottle of water. The food was ready in less than five minutes, which was a great bonus after the game. There are two floors with a lot of different game options including pool tables. I personally loved the air hockey tables (although one was out of order). The basketball games were fun, and the punching games were entertaining as well. I'm not really a big video game person, so I skipped over some of those. Another one of my favorite games they had was Skee-Ball. My biggest complaint was the number of machines that were not working. Pac-Man was broken, one of the air hockey tables was down, the claw machine for candy wasn't working, some of the Skee-Ball games were unavailable, and Tetris was also out of order. For a $25 admission fee, I would expect the machines to be better maintained. I also didn't see anyone actively working on repairs while I was there. The atmosphere was fun, with a mix of kids and adults enjoying the games. They also have a bar area where you can order drinks, including beer (although no beer on tap), frozen daiquiris, and mixed cocktails. Overall, Arcade Monster is a fun place to spend a couple of hours if you enjoy games and are looking for something different to do. I just hope they put more attention into maintaining the machines because that would really elevate the experience.

I primarily come to play the claw games, and I do notice that you get to hit payout more frequently if there are large parties also playing with you. So this past weekend I came for a birthday party, we booked a large karaoke room which came out to be $15 per head which came with pizzas. It was actually super fun, my only gripe was the AC wasn't working in the karaoke room. The pizzas were surprisingly SUUUUPER GOOD!! They're fluffy and thick, they come out fresh, honestly I was amazed at how good it was. Will definitely come back for pizza and claw games! Pro tip is if you join the membership (it's a $5 annual fee, and you get the new "gamer" card), you can actually add your old cards to your account via the app and access the same point discounts to load on your older cards.
