Some of the best Thai food in San Diego! I highly recommend Bahn Thai for two reasons; the food and the service. It is the kind of place you just get take out but they do have a handful of tables outside if you wanted to eat there. The food is absolutely incredible. Last night my girlfriend and I got the Panang Curry, Pad Thai, and Crab Rangoons. The portions are good sizes so it was enough for both of us. We had the medium spice level on the Panang Curry and it was perfect, enough kick but not enough to make you wish you had milk. The Pad Thai was great but the Crab Rangoons... INCREDIBLE! TBH, the reason we got Thai was because I was craving Crab Rangoons all day, so that may play into my review a smidge. I can't compliment the service enough. They were very kind and efficient. The cravings for Thai food had been really bad and I had heard good things about this place. When trying new places, sometimes I like to get the basics to see how places do with the regular and popular items. I ordered a chicken pad thai medium spice and a cup of tom kha gai without mushrooms. They made the order pretty fast which was nice and made for an easy pickup. For the pad thai, I would give it a 7/10. The medium spice didn't really have a spice so I added a lot of chili flakes. The soup was really good though, nice lemongrass flavor and coconut balance. I wish I had got a bowl of this. The price for the cup is a little pricey considering it's really only a cup. Might come back to try again read more

The food came in microwave safe containers which was convenient for leftovers as well. As for the food. We had spring rolls which were so good and it came with a house made sauce that I wish I had a gallon of. We both ordered chicken pad Thai, one medium and one mild. Ok. So I have been to San Diego yearly for work, but due to COVID the last two years were a bust. I was very excited to return to such a beautiful part of the country. I'm for NOLA so spice I can handle. Well let's just say living in the NE has made me soft. I clearly need to increase my spice tolerance. The food was packed with flavor and although spicy not overly spice that you couldn't taste other flavors or enjoy the meal. The location is great for dining out late summer or fall. My friend and I were actually planning to get tacos at a restaurant across the street but they had closed early and saw Bahn Thai open and gave it a try. Boy was I glad we did!!! I ate here with 2 of my friends on a Tuesday at 4pm, parking was relatively easy and surprising giving that it's a lot of street parking in University heights. We actually got a parking spot right in front of the restaurant, it is through a parking meter though! Chicken drunken noodles 8/10 - My friend ordered these, this is another good option if you aren't a fan of pad see ew. The drunken noodles had a lot of vegetables mixed in and the sauce was yummy.
