My friend and I attended an event a few blocks away that ended way later than expected so we were absolutely starving on a Thursday evening. She parked her car near this restaurant and it looked lovely so we took a chance and asked if they were still seating guests. He welcomed us warmly and notified us that the kitchen was closing in soon. He sat under the TV and grabbed a LED lamp to provide soft lighting. You order through a QR code menu. I hate being those patrons so I made a selection immediately: Green Curry with tofu and steamed rice for my friend and Pad Thai with mock duck for me. She had to run back to the venue to grab her water bottle, by the time we was back the food came out piping hot! She said it was the best green curry she's had in her life and she's trek all across this country. My dish was hit the spot but I should have ordered it with tofu or shrimp. Will note that for next time. Servers were very attentive and friendly throughout our meal. Water refilled without having to ask. Happy to add this in the rotation. It's a lot closer than the my other Thai favorites. Can't wait to come back!

Pad Thai with tofu (too sweet for my preference)

Ok first time here. Interior is sooo cute! I guess they recently got renovated from what I hear but no clue what it looked like before. Plenty of seating for any group size. A pretty good menu with something for everyone! Including a nice specialty menu. I got pad thai with tofu (one of my go tos) no spice since i was sharing with my son. I will say some of the menu items seem overpriced and steep. Luckily this one I seemed fair. The portion size was pretty good and it was so yellow in person! But I loved it! Sooo going and moist! I would def come back to order that! My cousin got the pad see eww with steak. Medium spice. It was unique in that it had both Chinese and regular broccoli! Overall pretty good even tho this is a dish I don't usually get. The steak slicked were kinda big and slightly thick which my cousin loved (esp for herself whereas I prefer thinner cuts). My mom got the orange chicken with a side of brown rice. That one I feel was a bit expensive. She asked for medium spice but we couldn't taste it anywhere. The chicken was good but I'd say not amazing and wouldn't get it again. It tasted to me like the orange chicken you get at me of the fast food take Chinese restaurants. Not horrible but not worth the price for that dish. That's all we got, I'd come again to try other items! I will say that their restroom might need some help. It wasn't bad but there were no seat covers (which I feel it definitely should be there). And additionally they did happen to have a changing table but honestly that table is set too high! Especially considering I'm short under 5 feet I would not be able to use it. I didn't get a pic but I think they had it placed higher due to the wall set up like there was a wood bar decor in the middle so they put it above. Honestly even for a normal height individual I think that it's placed too high. Not useable at all and a potential safety issue because if there was a fall it's quite high. As a mom, these are things we think about. So yes happy to have a changing table but that just shouldn't by that high up. Hopefully they can move it lower. Overall, I will prob return

The fresh rolls with the peanut sauce are to die for. So fresh tasting and I could drink the peanut sauce on its own

This is one of our all time favorite Thai spots..the service is friendly and quick and the food is always delicious! A staple takeout spot for us for sure! It's also a cute little date night spot if you want a night out and close to lots of other spots if you want to hop around North Park.

It was my first time dining here and it was a 10/10 experience! We ordered the potstickers which were nice and crunchy and had a delicious sesame oil dipping sauce. The garlic wings were also so tasty! Perfectly crispy and just the right amount of crunchy garlic. The Serrano sauce was also just the fright amount of heat. The satay chicken was so juicy and peanut sauce and pickled cucumbers were perfect. We also order the wonton soup and green chicken curry which were also delicious. The servers were also very attentive and friendly. We went around 2pm so it wasn't super busy. I would absolutely recommend this place because everything we tried was flavorful and service was great! The place is also has a nice vibe. We will definitely be going back.

Thai Time is an excellent choice if you live in North Park. I've dined in and ordered takeout, and I can't believe I walked past this place thousands of times before finally trying it. My go‑to Thai spot is usually in Normal Heights and more of a takeout‑only vibe, so I wanted something a little more formal where you can sit down, have a drink, and enjoy the full experience. The menu is extensive -- truly something for everyone. They also have a full bar and a great happy hour. On our most recent visit, we caught the tail end of happy hour and ordered a couple of Tsing Tao beers (love pairing an Asian beer with Thai food) along with some apps. I appreciate that they have a printed happy hour menu right on the table -- easy to read and easy to order from. They also always have a specialty menu. I came in the fall for my birthday and they had a seasonal fall drink and food menu. This time, they had a February Valentine's special. The main menu is on a scannable QR code, and everything is clearly organized and easy to navigate. For entrées, we ordered the green curry and orange chicken, and for dessert -- obviously -- mango sticky rice. A Thai meal feels incomplete without it. What amazes me about this place is how fast the food comes out and how fresh and hot everything is. A pet peeve of mine is lukewarm food -- I need it sizzling -- and they deliver every time. Each dish came out quickly and was tasty. The only thing I'd note is the orange chicken had way too much sauce for my preference -- very sticky -- so next time I'd ask for sauce on the side or "easy sauce." The green curry portion was HUGE, like truly the biggest portion I've ever gotten at a Thai restaurant. Even at mild, it was pretty spicy for us, so next time I'd do no spice and add chili on the side. Food is priced appropriately. The ambiance is cozy with nice lighting and comfortable seating. This place gets a lot of to‑go and delivery orders, so keep that in mind if you're doing takeout -- honestly, dining in is usually faster for us. A solid neighborhood Thai spot with great service, fast food, and tons of options.

Dined in on a Sunday night around 8 pm. My server was very friendly & all the food came out piping hot! The inside is so charming with great music. They have all the classic Thai dishes with great flavor. Crab Rangoons 10/10: far more real crab flavor than I've had with any other rangoons & the sauces are unique & tasty Pad Se Lew 9/10: great texture, nice big pieces of beef, great spice Panang Curry 8/10: great flavor overall but could be slightly more flavorful, nice portion size, & good balance of chicken to vegetables Mango Sticky Rice 10/10: perfect ripe mango & yummy sticky rice Great presentation on dishes as well. Will definitely be back!

This was my 2nd visit to Thai Time North Park and again the service and food was delicious and welcoming. Knot was our server so friendly with a smile. The Pad Thai was the best I've ever had and I liked it so much that I ordered a 2nd one to go. Immortal Beef was so tender and the vegetables cooked perfectly served on a sizzling plate. So happy to have an authentic restaurant like this in San Diego! I'll definitely be back again.

Thai Time is a solid spot for Thai food in North Park. I stopped by for dinner on a weekday and it was pretty busy, but we still received great service. The staff were attentive and checked in regularly. The food was pretty good overall. I tried the truffle fries, Khao Soi, yellow curry, spicy fried rice, and mango sticky rice, and I'd definitely get the Khao soi and curry again. Both had great flavor. Worth stopping by if you're in the area!

Recently found Thai Time, and we love it! Great atmosphere and great service. You can tell that there are regulars who frequent the restaurant and there are constantly people picking up take out, which is a good indicator of good food for me. Parking can be tough in the area depending on the time, but it's worth hunting for a spot. We've dined in and ordered take out, and the dishes were consistently good. Highly recommend the spicy fried rice, the pad kee Mao, and the Thai tea. Glad to have found a reliable Thai spot in the area!

I couldn't love Thai Time more!!! Whether you dine in or get takeout, the food is goin to be extraordinary. I personally cannot get enough of their Pad Kee Mao & the Brussel sprouts are the best I've ever had. We recently tried their Lamb special and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! The service is superb, always happy and has great advice! The decor is beautiful too!

My husband and I came to Thai Time in North Park after it was highly recommended by our son, who lives in the San Diego area. Not only did we visit once while in town, but we also came back a second time because we were so impressed! Thai Time is situated in the unique, midtown-like area of North Park. The decor inside was chic and eccentric, with comfortable seating, and our waiters were kind and vibrant. We had quite the feast! Colorful, beautifully plated, and full of freshness and flavor. We started with the Tuna Tower, which was served with crispy garlic shrimp chips. Sweet with a little bit of spice. For our carb dish, we went for a Pad Se Lew. It was good, but we may go with one of their Fried rice options instead next time. Lastly, the dishes that had us coming back for more included the Larb salad and the Immortal Beef. Larb salad lovers, you will love this! The portion was generous with crisp vegetables on the side. The Immortal beef was 8oz of delicious and flavorful seared angus ribeye steak with seared veggies with rice, and over-easy egg on the side. These two dishes are a must! Topped off with the mango sticky rice. So yummy, you will not regret making the drive out to North Park!

Went here with a buddy of mine for lunch. He lives less than a block from this delicious place. If I lived that close I'd eat there every day. Got the pork belly appetizer and Khao Soi Gai with Rib Eye. OMG. Heaven!!! Service was great and lived the quaint atmosphere. Highly recommend!

    Nikhil R.

Pretty good Thai food for the price! The crab fried rice is super tasty, the ground chicken dishes or any curries are also excellent. Parking is extremely difficult as there is barely any street parking and no dedicated parking for the restaurant. You have to park on random side streets.

Ask the Community - Thai Time North Park

Do you still have a lunch special?

They DO! The portions are commensurate to the price, though, so unsure if it's a "special"- but the food here has improved 100% since the new owners. I'm an addict, now and hadn't been in years with the previous owners. Enjoy!

Does TT have fountain soda? Coke?

No fountain Soda. But they offer a Mexican coke!

If you have not changed your name, why are you not accepting gift certificates from before the change in management? That sounds shady.

We are keeping the same name for now but we are definitely new owners and share holders. Please come in and speak with a manager (or call ahead) and we’ll accept the gift card from the previous owner. Thank you for reaching out about this.…

We ordered 4 dishes to share, the wasabi scallop ceviche, crispy baby crab, braised beef panang, and crab fried rice. The ceviche was definitely one of my favorites. Super flavorful, fresh, with the perfect amount of wasabi. The crispy baby crab was savory and easy to eat, especially since you're eating the whole crab, shell and all. The curry in the braised beef panang was so addicting, I couldn't stop eating it. The crab fried rice was tasty and filling. For dessert we got the mango sticky rice. The mangoes were fresh and sweet. Overall pretty standard but still yummy. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive. All the food came out in the timely manner. The vibe of the restaurant is casual but can be a little dressy for a nice date. Overall I definitely recommend a try here. I got us a beautiful Airbnb right next to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Girls School (mind out of the gutter, please). It's gorgeous, but we didn't know where to eat. I did a quick Yelp Search; thank you, Yelpers! I found this place. It was only a stone's throw from where we are staying, which is a beautiful little neighborhood! I was very hungry for some reason, probably from all the moving and lifting of boxes, but we came here. I had the Garlic Pepper w/tofu stir fry, and my husband had the lo mein with mock duck. For an appetizer, we had the tofu spring rolls! DELISH. Becky, our gracious server, was wonderful and was kind enough to break out our bill. I had two Chardonnay nays (Martin reference), which were only $ 10.00 each- good wine and cheaper than that current white wine at the Whistle Stop. My dish was very good. I love the crispy broccoli, and they put some type of cabbage slaw mixed with the sauce in it, which was incredible. My husband loved his lo mein.
