Tucked away inside Akita Sushi, BAHO Mediterranean Cafe is one of those hidden gems you'd never find unless someone told you about it, or you were determined enough to search. The signage is subtle and easy to miss, but once you find it, it's well worth the effort. I first visited during their grand opening and have returned several times since. Without fail, the experience has been excellent. The staff are consistently warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Even during peak hours when the place is packed, I've never waited long to be seated, and the food always comes out quickly. I've worked my way through their menu: doner wraps, kebab plates, and a variety of sides; and every single dish has been a hit. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The consistency here is impressive, which is something I value highly in any restaurant. I already loved Mediterranean food, but BAHO's Turkish offerings really surprised me. Fresh vegetables, bold and flavorful sauces, and perfectly seasoned, savory meats come together in a way that feels both comforting and exciting. Keep in mind that the doner wrap is served in a bag because it can get messy, but if you remember those old Carl's Jr. commercials: "If it doesn't get all over the place, it doesn't belong in your face". If you're lucky enough to be helped by Boris, you're in great hands. He's incredibly kind, hardworking, and clearly takes pride in making sure guests have a great experience. On my first visit with my cousin, I told him we had no idea what to order, and he set us up with chicken doner wraps and a selection of appetizers. An excellent introduction to the menu that hooked us. Since then, I've brought my wife, friends, and family here, and every single person has walked away impressed. My partner and I were craving kabobs and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. Location was difficult to find because they don't have a sign yet, it's inside Akita Sushi. Outside there was a guy grilling the kabobs. We were greeted when we arrived. The man there recommended us to get Doner Chicken Wrap and the Adana Kebab Plate. Everything came out delicious. We will definitely come pack for the wraps. I minus a star because the tables could use a good wiping down and the restaurant needs some tidying up. read more

The staff are exceptionally respectful and genuinely warm, treating you with the kind of heartfelt hospitality that makes you feel truly cared for. It's the kind of Turkish hospitality you can feel deep in your bones. It's a wonderful showcase of Turkish cuisine as well, where you can find authentic dishes like Hatay-style doner. (Doner is a traditional Turkish dish made from layers of marinated meat stacked on a vertical rotisserie. As it slowly cooks, thin slices are shaved off and served either on a plate or inside bread. It's similar to Greek gyros or Middle Eastern shawarma, but with its own unique Turkish seasoning and flavor profile. You will love it more than Gyros and shawarma!) The grilled meats are also incredibly tender and flavorful. Every time we eat here, we look forward to our next visit even more. Heads up their menu photos on Yelp including the signs they put right outside their restaurant are out of date and inaccurate. For example the wraps are $17 and not $15. Ordered a chicken doner wrap to go over the phone. They asked how long I would be I said 10 minutes. I showed up 10-12 minutes later and had to reorder the wrap because it hadn't been worked on yet. The wrap is about the size of a burrito (thinner but longer). Flavor is good for both the wrap and chicken. A lot of sauce though. I bit into a piece of chicken that seemed questionably cooked enough. I guess we'll see. read more

Last minutes choice but a good one. Small place; Nice service. Got chicken Doner wrap, wow, delicious. Them lamb shish plate, juicy tender but flavorful. The food is not as good as advertised. All the 5-star reviews are based on requests. I went with my American girlfriend to try it, but the staff couldn't cook the food because they were watching her. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a girlfriend or family. The ambiance of the place is very old and there's not even any paint on the walls. Customer satisfaction is zero. The staff is rude and speaks loudly. The interior is untidy and very amateurish. I wish I had never gone. They don't even know how to prepare order because of English but I respect them , they are so brave . Today was my first time at BAHO Mediterranean and it definitely won't be my last! We were shocked to find out they just opened up a week ago. The service is top tier as the staff here is very attentive and welcoming. We walked in and the environment is very clean and our food came out quickly. We ordered a variety of items including the liver plate, wrap, salads and a few appetizer. The wrap was so flavorful and fresh. The restaurant was very clean and the owners were very accommodating. I love to try different flavors and unique foods. I have traveled extensively to Türkiye and have had some amazing food. You will not find such authentic food Turkish food here in the Bay Area. This place is so flavorful and delicious. I went twice in a week so I could try different menu items.
