I came here a couple weeks ago because we were craving Greek food. I didn't realize Greek Spot opened up until my boyfriend took me here. We came the last 10 minutes of closing, but the workers were so friendly and still let us order for takeout. We both got the gyro plates with lamb and beef. I didn't get to take pictures of the plates when we got home because we were too hungry, but it was savory and delicious. The tzatziki sauce here is delicious. My boyfriend had to ask for extra because he loves it so much. The lamb and beef were tender with flavorful and the portions here are generous. I never finish, so it ended up becoming two meals for me. We got my dad an order of the lamb and beef gyro plate too. It was his first time trying Greek food and he liked it! Returning customers here.

A great fast casual moment. I came here on a Saturday at noon. The parking lot is spacious, so no need to worry on that front. The restaurant has an ample amount of seating inside - you order at the counter first and seat yourself anywhere. Service is relatively fast, especially considering the store was 90% filled by the time we left. We got one gyro and one Greek Spot special plate. The lamb inside the gyro was great - crispy yet tender, and savory. There was a good ratio of meat to fries. The veggies inside (tomato and onion) were fresh as well. I really enjoyed the tzatziki here - very tangy and a great contrast (but also complement) to the warmness and saltiness of the rest of the gyro. The pita was light and airy. The Greek Spot special is a great balanced plate, featuring skewer, pita, and salad. As I like to call it, it's a deconstructed gyro (so everything was delicious as well), and the salad was aromatic and refreshing. A satisfactory portion size as well. Will definitely return!

I came here once before and honestly didn't have the best experience, and I even left a not-so-great review. But I decided to give this place another try and I'm really glad I did. This time I ordered the a Gyro and Greek fries, and wow... easily the best Greek fries I've had in San Jose. Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and loaded with flavor. Totally changed my mind about this spot. I'm glad I came back because the food really won me over. Definitely worth a try if you're in San Jose and craving something delicious especially Mediterranean.

We ordered the Mousaka (must try if you've never had) and the Gyro Plate to-go which took about 20ish minutes. The restaurant is cute and the one server was friendly. I personally thought everything was decent, but my brother who frequents Greek spots in New York thought that this spot wasn't anything special. He compared the 5 minute wait time at his usual food truck (with even better food) to the 20 minute wait here and noted that the food shouldn't have taken that long for the quality of food.

Got a chicken bowl. The rice was a bit different than other mediterranean, it was flavorful but a bit mushy. I was hopping for more veggies in my bowl and would prefer less sauce. Overall, the menu is fairly priced.

Greek Spot is a super local restaurant with a cozy interior that is clean and has plenty of seating. We were pretty jet lagged when we tried it for the first time so we did end up over-ordering a bit. We went with the lentil soup as well as the lemon orzo soup, both were piping hot and well seasoned. The homemade spanakopita was also crispy on the outside and filled with creamy spinach on the inside. I also quite liked the lamb souvlaki over the beef (a bit juicier), but both paired well with the fresh pita and fries. Will definitely be back the next time I am craving Greek food!

Lamb & beef gyro combo 1 w/ fries the other with greek salad

First time eating here ! Was looking around for a gyro spot & found this one around the area . For some reason , I was missing the gyros from Greece & this place looked legit . Went with the lamb & beef gyro $12 + combo drink w/ salad +$6 . Ordered 2 combos the other one w/ fries . It was around $40. The food came out & the portions were pretty big . The gyro had great flavor , the pita was super soft, the meat was flavorful. The fries were amazing . Super crunchy and had great flavor . I wish they had another spicy sauce . The one I tried tasted like Tapatio. I would say it tasted better w/o that . The greek salad at first tasted good & then Some bites tasted super bitter . Couldn't figure out what was giving it that taste . It wasn't a traditional greek salad I was used to but it did taste refreshing when it wasn't bitter . Overall , I'd come back for the gyros & the fries . They were pretty bomb.

Overall had a good experience. The gyro (or "euro") was pretty tasty--though a bit salty for my taste, and I think it could've used a bit more sauce to balance things out. On the upside, the portion was decent and had that classic Greek flavor. My kid really enjoyed the French fries, which is always a win in my book.

Came for takeout during a weekday lunch. It's definitely got some activity with a few tables occupied and people coming in and out for takeout. Lamb & Beef Gyro - actually quite a substantial wrap with onions, tomatoes, fries, and tzatziki. Overall flavors were good and they put on the right amount of sauce. I will say it's a pretty greasy wrap which might put some people off, probably due to the fries. This is no health food, and I definitely felt a little lethargic after eating the whole thing. Other than that I'd say it's pretty worth $12! Nothing standout per se, but reliable fast casual Greek food.

The interior is very cute and cozy, giving a casual street vibe. The gyro was very hearty and it filled me up pretty well even though I thought it wasn't . I would love to come back and try their plates.

They are located in a little strip mall on Alma Ave a few doors down from The Giving Pie. The parking lot is not huge but it we were able to find parking with no problem. The inside is nicely decorated with pictures of famous places in Greece. It's not huge inside but cozy with several tables for inside seating as well as a patio outside for outdoor seating. You can scan the QR code at your table or order at the front counter. We ordered from the front counter. We ordered the highly recommended Mousaka, the 3 piece plate with a side of green Greek salad. We chose the chicken skewer, pork skewer, and bifteki for our 3 meat choices as well as an order of Spanikopita. Our food was delivered to our table promptly. I grew up eating my Mom's Mousaka and I've eaten it in Athens, Naxos and Santorini. Let me tell you, their Mousaka was excellent. The eggplant, potato, meat filling and béchamel on the top were perfect. It's definitely a must try. The three skewers of meat were so flavorful and juicy. Both my husband and I loved it!! The pita bread it came with so warm and soft. The Spanikopita was fresh and hot. Delicious flaky phyllo dough with a savory spinach interior. The salads that came with each dish were also wonderful. Their feta on the top was so good and I loved the Kalamata olives. Customer service here was great. The young lady that helped us when we ordered was very friendly and helpful. It started getting busy inside while we were eating and I can see why. This is delicious homemade Greek food made from the heart. We will be coming here more often, now that we know about this place. There are many other things we are looking forward to trying.

You can definitely split plates here as the portions are big. We ordered the falafels, baba ganoush, chicken souvlaki plate and the gyro plate. We will be adding this one to our rotation!

1st time here. A friend invited me to join her, and said it was where many of her co-workers ate…read more The short version is: my meal was very sub-par, and way over-priced. The details: I normally don't eat a lot of meat, so I chose the Falafel Salad. It came with extremely little lettuce, plus a few olives (which I don't eat), onions (which I also eat sparingly), tomatoes, cucumbers, and the falafel balls. Oh! And there was feta cheese, but those were such miniscule pieces, and so few, that I wouldn't have remembered it was supposed to be part of the salad, if I didn't just pull up a photo online with their ordering system. What you see in the photo online is not what you get. The photo actually looks like a salad. Since it was called a salad, I expected there to be more lettuce, than the few pieces on the plate. I mainly was cutting up the cucumber & tomato pieces to go with the falafels. I don't even recall any dressing. There were also some pita slices with what I assumed was hummus. Whatever the dip was, it did not taste good to me at all. So I left all of the pita bread, as well, since it was dry without anything on it. Maybe what I assumed was hummus was a dressing. Hard to know, but it was not tasty. For the $27 I paid at a walk up counter, I would have expected much better food! I have bought frozen falafels at Lunardis (around $7) and made a salad for them at home, and enjoyed it very much, which is why I ordered it. I have purchased Spanakopita at the store many times, (about $5 for around 12 of them at the store) and made them at home, which is why I didn't order that. The falafel salad was not an enjoyable meal for me at Yiassoo's. I'd also seen some reviews from a few years back that said they paid around $10 or $11 for their meal. That is more in-line price-wise with what you get, based upon my meal. With most of the meals around $20 for lunch, I feel they were very over-priced. I also asked my friend if she'd like to split a Baklava. They had a pistachio one & chocolate one. My friend wanted to try the chocolate one, so I bought that. I didn't think I was too into baklava, but thought it might be nice to try at this highly rated Greek restaurant. The main flavor that came through was the honey & nuts. The chocolate was just a tiny, narrow drizzle on top. I didn't hate it, but I would never order it again. My friend took one bite, and said she mainly tasted the honey, and would take it home for her husband. It may be very good baklava, but it was not to our tastes. My friend ordered the Gyro salad. It had a large pile of shaved meat, and she seemed to enjoy it. She ordered it To-Go, as she knew she'd be taking some of it home. She seemed to have more lettuce under her pile of meat than my meal got. Maybe because it was in a To-Go box, which might be larger than the plate? Or maybe the person making my salad just wasn't paying attention to how to make a decent meal. I was hoping I was trying a restaurant that I could go back to for something different. Based upon my experience, I would not go back, if I had a choice. I gave it 3 stars, because maybe other dishes, or people looking to just eat meat or falafel balls and not much else would enjoy it. I only have the 1 meal to review, but it does not encourage me to try it again. Overpriced & not a fulfilling meal.

We got: - dolmades mezes starter: it was warm and had beef in it which was unexpected -- I'm almost certain we had a different version of these before that did not have meat and were served cold, I have never really loved these lol but my partner has really enjoyed the cold version before because he found it really refreshing. The warm one was interesting, still enjoyable to him but not as much as before - beef souvlaki plate with fries instead of salad: I loved this! I asked for no lettuce, and the server said I could switch out the salad for fries instead. The beef was so tender and flavored well, super savory, and I absolutely LOVE the olive dip that comes with this dish. The fries were okay! I enjoyed dipping them into the olive dip. - swordfish souvlaki wrap no lettuce with fruit: option to get fries instead, but we got fruit. My mom liked it! I tried some of the swordfish and it had a nice light flavor, quite tender and very nice. I've also gotten the grilled branzini before, which is a whole entire fish. Warning that you may need to use your hands to eat this directly lol I really enjoyed this dish too! When we arrived, they mentioned we could sit anywhere we wanted. There was both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors so it was a tad warm but they provide shade. There is a tent as well with a plastic surrounding but as for any restaurant with these plastic surroundings, I always find the plastic smell so strong and offputting, so we sat at the tables instead where they have umbrellas providing a lot of shade. We sat next to a bougainvillea bush which also provides us shade and some entertainment as little birds hopped back and forth inside the bush and then out of it to nearby tables, looking for food. So cute! Parking can be found in the lot behind the restaurant, but the entrance is still found around the other side of the building, on the side of the outdoor seating. You can also park on the side of the street in front of the restaurant, but there's less shade. We arrived at a 3pm on a Friday with almost no one else there, so once our whole party was present we got service immediately. The food takes some time to cook but as mentioned, it's delicious. Overall a really cute restaurant!
