I came here a couple weeks ago because we were craving Greek food. I didn't realize Greek Spot opened up until my boyfriend took me here. We came the last 10 minutes of closing, but the workers were so friendly and still let us order for takeout. We both got the gyro plates with lamb and beef. I didn't get to take pictures of the plates when we got home because we were too hungry, but it was savory and delicious. The tzatziki sauce here is delicious. My boyfriend had to ask for extra because he loves it so much. The lamb and beef were tender with flavorful and the portions here are generous. I never finish, so it ended up becoming two meals for me. We got my dad an order of the lamb and beef gyro plate too. It was his first time trying Greek food and he liked it! I've been on a health grind and what better way to eat something nutritious then eating some Greek food! Around 7pm there was only one table occupied table but there were a lot of customers who were there for pick up or ordering home- like me. It actually took longer than expected but worth the wait. For a plate with three skewers it's about $23 and an additional $2 if you want to change your friends to salad. For two skewers it's only $20! They have plates, family style (only skewers), gyros, souvlaki and soup and salad! For the wraps, they include: tomato, onions, fries, tzatziki and yellow sauce. There's lots of space to eat, but when it's at the end of the day you just want to take the food to go. read more

You shouldn't be refilling ketchup that stays on the table for months. Same was worse for the Sriracha. I literally saw a bottle with molded hot sauce inside. A great fast casual moment. I came here on a Saturday at noon. The parking lot is spacious, so no need to worry on that front. The restaurant has an ample amount of seating inside - you order at the counter first and seat yourself anywhere. Service is relatively fast, especially considering the store was 90% filled by the time we left. We got one gyro and one Greek Spot special plate. The lamb inside the gyro was great - crispy yet tender, and savory. There was a good ratio of meat to fries. The veggies inside (tomato and onion) were fresh as well. I really enjoyed the tzatziki here - very tangy and a great contrast (but also complement) to the warmness and saltiness of the rest of the gyro. The pita was light and airy. The Greek Spot special is a great balanced plate, featuring skewer, pita, and salad. As I like to call it, it's a deconstructed gyro (so everything was delicious as well), and the salad was aromatic and refreshing. A satisfactory portion size as well. I just love the vibe here every time I come! Whenever I crave it, it's usually after shopping at Target across, and all the time I have gone has been such an amazing experience, both from the service AND the food. Greek Spot is a super local restaurant with a cozy interior that is clean and has plenty of seating. We were pretty jet lagged when we tried it for the first time so we did end up over-ordering a bit. We went with the lentil soup as well as the lemon orzo soup, both were piping hot and well seasoned. The homemade spanakopita was also crispy on the outside and filled with creamy spinach on the inside. Yum!! Came for an early dinner last night and I will definitely be back. I ordered the gyro combo that comes with fries and a drink. The food does take awhile as they make everything to order, but it was worth the wait! My gyro had so much meat bursting out of the pita and it was very flavorful. The fries were different in past photos and they were my favorite, the seasoned and double battered version and they gave me the creamy mustard sauce on the side to dip it in. I was so full but could not stop eating because it was so delicious. Lots of diners were coming in so it really seems to be a neighborhood gem. Lamb & Beef Gyro - actually quite a substantial wrap with onions, tomatoes, fries, and tzatziki. Overall flavors were good and they put on the right amount of sauce. I will say it's a pretty greasy wrap which might put some people off, probably due to the fries. This is no health food, and I definitely felt a little lethargic after eating the whole thing. Met my nephew here for lunch today. 1st time eating here, and I was impressed. My souvlaki reminded me so much of the ones I used to get in Athens and Sitia: meat, onions, ripe tomatoes and tzatziki. Stopped by to pick up some dinner on a Thursday evening! I see this place all the time whenever I'm driving on Cottle so I decided to give it a try since I was craving Mediterranean. I ordered everything to go but the inside of the restaurant was bright and lively. The staff were incredibly nice and kind as well :) I ended up getting a chicken gyro and an order of loukoumades for dessert! The gyro was delicious! It had a good ratio of fresh vegetables and a nice serving of chicken. I also like that it had fries inside! It was flavorful and juicy and everything I wanted in the moment. My wife and I had a nice lunch at the Greek Spot, on Cottle Rd. She had Mousaka ($19), which was delicious. The top layer was firm yet creamy and very flavorful. The other layers combined to make a great total taste. I had the Gyro Salad ($15) which is a large enough portion to split. (I took home half of it and enjoyed it again the next day!). Great tasting piles of meat on top of a salad with a great tangy dressing. The flavor combination of the meat, salad, and dressing was perfect. You place your order at the counter, and then when it is ready, someone brings it to your table. We were there at lunch time on a Monday, but it was not crowded. Came here for lunch today. We were warmly greated upon entering. You place your order at the front counter and they deliver your food to your table. I decided to try the lamb & beef gyro combo with the Greek salad for my side. It all came with a fountain drink. My husband ordered the 3 item souvlaki plate. He chose two skewers of chicken and the bifteki. We also ordered the spanakopita as an appetizer to share. We weld served our drinks and found a nice booth to set at. There is plenty of seating inside as well as outdoor seating. I love the Greek decor on the walls. The tables are jept very clean. Our food was delivered to us in less than 10 minutes, and it was delicious. My gyro sandwich was stuffed with meat and also had French fries, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce in it. I highly recommend it. The Greek salad was also excellent. We both loved the spinach filled spanakopita. My husband enjoyed his souvlaki plate. The staff are extremely friendly and genuinely care about their customers. This is a decent Greek restaurant in the area! My husband and I have come here a few times now. I always enjoy getting the falafel platter. The hummus and pita are really good and fresh. The falafels are pretty good as well. Crunchy on the outside but soft inside. The rice was also tasty! My husband usually likes to get the gyro plate with lamb. Freaking YUM!!! Been here twice now and each time was fantastic. The second time we came we accidentally arrived 5 minutes before closing. Despite being so late, we were greeted warmly and had the best customer service ever. On top of that, the owner gave us a few free grape leaves to try! Portions are HUGE as you can see in my photos and everything is fresh and delicious. I think we've tried every meat they have to offer and all have been excellent. I've been driving past this restaurant on my way to the Cottle target for months and finally decided to try it (it's across the street). It's a cute small restaurant with a good amount of seating. You order at the register and it's self seating. I ordered the falafel plate and the zucchini sticks. Total for a plate, an appetizer and a fountain drink, $27. Pretty normal I would say. I really enjoyed the zucchini sticks and it's a super generous portion! My friend and I shared them and I still had leftovers to take home. I loved the falafels, not overly fried. I was a little disappointed they don't serve the yellow Mediterranean style rice with their plates but the brown rice was actually pretty flavorful. The pita bread was delicious and warm! One down side is they didn't provide the white yogurt sauce with my falafel plate. I love my sauces and that was pretty lacking. At least they have packets of ketchup and sriracha. Found this spot while browsing Yelp while I was in the area and decided to try it, and I'm so glad I did. My fiance and I both ordered a Greek spot special, one with gyro meat and one with shaved chicken. Both were delicious! We also ordered a side of fries which were hot, crispy and reminded me of the taste of curly fries. Would definitely order them again. The place was clean, service was good, and the food is made to order, which I didn't mind having to wait a little extra longer for. Unfortunately, I need to change my review from the last time. My biggest complaint is how overpriced this place is. I spent over $20 for moussaka. And although it was tasty, I've had far better moussaka in the past. It came with a side salad that had far too many onions and peppers. It wasn't horrible. But I could have done with a little less onions and peppers and more lettuce and tomatoes instead. But I think the part that turned me off the most was the walnut baklava. I spent over $7 for two small pieces and it was probably the worst baklava I've ever had in my life. It tasted old like it was made several days ago and it wasn't fresh. Not crispy. Almost a bit soggy even on the bottom. I took two bites and I was done and felt completely ripped off because it was rather expensive. I've came here before and it wasn't bad the first time. But this time around was so bad that I needed to rewrite my review and drop them down to two stars only. The service was good however. But the food is lacking. I absolutely love Greek food, and this just did not hit the mark for me at all. I've eaten at the Greek Spot several times and always been pleased (hence the 2 stars instead of 1), but I was so disappointed with my order from Dec. 12, that I was compelled to write a review. I ordered through DoorDash and when I received my meal I unwrapped the souvlaki to find it basically empty - two pitiful bits of chicken and no fries. It was basically a pita with sauce and lettuce. Definitely not worth the cost (picture is immediately after unwrapping - nothing had been eaten or fallen out). I'm not sure if they ran out of ingredients or what, but it was 100% not what I'm used to getting from them and was so light on material that I thought it was a practical joke. I'll try them again sometime, but I hope my next experience is more up to the standards I'm used to from Greek Spot. read more

I am beyond bewildered and alarmed at the reviews here as someone who knows good, quality food very, very well. I've been to Greece, I eat authentic Mediterranean food almost weekly, and cook it myself as well as a European; I've been to every chain, as well as every family owned Greek restaurant possible and I've never had an experience like that I had here, at Greek Spot. If you look at my account, you will see I don't do reviews. As a user of Yelp for so many years, the fact that I had to post a review of the horrible food within 15 minutes of picking up, is huge and speaks volumes. Let me sum it up: Price: I paid $60 for two salads, two sides of tzatziki, and some zucchini sticks. I am the type of person who does not look twice at prices when it comes to food. I love, appreciate, and value quality food. What I received should have been $20 AT MOST and that's where I have a problem with their price. Want a bigger cup than a small, mini side of tzatziki? It'll cost you $7.50. INSANITY. Especially for something that doesn't even moderately taste like tzatziki and I've had GOOD tzatziki. Salad Dressing: I almost drove back to the restaurant JUST with this issue ALONE. First, Greek salad dressing is not equivalent to, similar to, or EVER to be on par with a fake, Italian balsamic vinegar GELATIN. Yes, I said what I said. You will see pictured that my dressing was GELATIN. I tipped my "dressing" upside down and it literally wouldn't come out it was like actual JELLO-- meaning... OLD, CHEAP, STORE BOUGHT, PRESERVATIVE DISGUSTING faux-dressing. It is NOT hard to take some olive oil, oregano, fresh garlic, balsamic/red wine vinegar (if that's how you wish to make your Greek dressing), mustard, fresh lemon, etc. and whip up a normal, refreshing, HALF DECENT Greek salad dressing (or any dressing for that matter). This one literally made me go "shame on you" to them in my head and revert back to the price because seriously?? Did you buy this old disgusting vinegar gelatin at Grocery Bargain that was sitting for 10 years on a shelf? How can YOU in good faith serve this to ANYONE? I had to DIP my lettuce/salad (literally, DIP) it into the cup to even try it. And it was obviously terrible in taste, but that again, speaks volumes to hear about dressing not pouring out and being stuck to a dish because it's so hard. HORRIBLE. Zucchini Fries: I opened my takeout box with the zucchini fries to have a taste immediately when I got into the car. SOAKED, SOGGY, completely WET, not even SLIGHTLY crunchy or fried. Terrible, shocking, no salt, no typical seasonings like what should be on Greek food, just awful beyond belief. How could someone serve this with a smile is just an insane mystery. Tzatziki: I've been to Greece, I've been to several family owned Greek restaurants around California, and I've never had a tzatziki that was less of a tzatziki in my life. Weird, just yogurt with maybe a few strands of cucumber and just not an elevating sauce at all. Worst one I've had in my life. Greek Salads: the lamb and beef gyro meet was the WORST I've had in my life. Crumbled, cold, not a pleasure to eat in the slightest. I made an amendment to one salad where I asked for no peppers or cucumbers, somehow they decided that that also meant to not include other ingredients like onion, and to pile on HEEPS (and I mean HEEPS) of squished, sun-damaged, old, soggy tomatoes. I had to pick them out and you will see only ONE FOURTH of all the tomatoes pictured. Again, insanity. If someone removed a veggie from a salad, it doesn't mean you go wild and give them 1/2 cup of lettuce, and 3 cups of chopped, terrible tomatoes. Overall, cheap ingredients, cheap way of doing things, and charging higher than the best, award worthy family Greek restaurants that are small businesses in California. Your restaurant and owners should be ashamed of themselves. This is THEFT what you are doing and you can taste the careless, cheapness. Do better. Even I as a non-Greek European can make better, more authentic, higher quality Greek food than the garbage you serve and call "food." And yes, I am mad, because it takes a special kind of family business to not care about the most basic, common decency level of quality the way you do. This restaurant should be a 2 star overall, AT BEST. People, what the hell is wrong with you if you ever thought this place was decent-- even Nick the Greek is LOADS fresher and better. NO COMPARISON. A huge chain like Nick The Greek surpasses in quality by miles and miles-- let that sink in. read more
