So it is not only a traditional breakfast but have a selection of 3-4 nice Tex Mex selections. Everything is homemade including refried beans but Not the corn tortillas. It was on point traditional Tex mex with wonderful flavor. Excellent friendly waitstaff. Down sides. The place is very clean but a bit of old building smell. The potato's had a bit of a tooth that some might find undercooked but fine for me. Table and chairs older early cafe but everything else was cheery and well kept. Basic, non-descript location. Wanted a good local place. I think this covered it. Had the house burger (1/2 lb patty!) and added pepper jack, bacon and jalapenos (though didn't realize they left bacon off until I was writing this ......hahaha....no biggie). Partner had the BLT. Learned about this place from Yelp. Passing through town looking for a lunch spot that wasn't Mexican food and decided to stop here, and we picked a winner. I meant to take pictures but forgot. Hubby had a club sandwich that filled the entire plate. I had a burger with a homemade bun that was the biggest I ever saw! Everything was good and the service was pleasant and efficient. Not a fancy place at all but neat and clean. My only complaint was that the burger was over cooked to my taste but it was a very generous serving. You can also get your choice of fries or onion rings with your sandwich so we got one of each and shared. Both were excellent, fresh and hot. It's a little hard to find. Surely the healthy yet tasty sides we ordered will compensate - grilled squash, turnip greens, green beans, and sweet corn. Discovered this little gem as we were getting started on a road trip from Dallas to Houston. Notably before we were one bite into the onion rings my husband & I decided we will be coming back soon for a repeat on the onion rings and to try the chopped steak, the chicken fried steak, and the pork chops. Ummm, did I mention the onion rings were freaking fantastic? Stopped at Bailey's on trip home to Houston from Dallas. It is a simple, un- pretentious small town diner. I got the #2 lunch, Hamburger Steak with sauteed onions and brown gravy, mashed potatoes and pinto beans. Al were cooked to perfection and the lunch was delicious. The restaurant is clean and new looking. The servers are occasionally distracted by talking to each other and laughing. It was not busy on the Sunday afternoon of our visit. They were polite and took orders accurately. The onion rings were among the best we've ever had. The chicken fried streaks would have been good, except for the gristle that was in parts of both steaks. A more thorough cutting or tenderizing of the cutlet is needed. The "grilled" squash appeared to have been re-grilled several times on a flat grill...it was limp...perhaps reused? The squash was served in a bowl with an oily green liquid. The biggest miss was the coconut pie. The crust appeared dark brown as it may have been over baked. It also seems to have turned rancid. The pie filling tasted like an overload of corn syrup. Neither of us could tolerate eating even half of our pie slices. Attention to detail in the preparation of the food seems to be missing. Also, cooks should not be chewing gum or eating in food handling areas. Definitely not worth the money or a second chance. read more

Stopped in for some breakfast this morning. Not many people here. A few guys at the small bar waiting for an order. Quaint little place with one TV on Telemundo and one on the local Fox affiliate. I seated myself. One lady was running the whole place. The guy at the bar communicated to the cook/waitress/manager lady that I had walked in to the Cafe. She promptly asked me what I wanted to drink and gave me a menu. I got unsweet Tea. The tea was good but had a little after taste. Maybe not filtered water or maybe a little older tea but it was satisfactory. I decided on the #3 country breakfast. It includes Three eggs with choice of bacon, ham, sausage and two pancakes.The pancakes were pretty big, fluffy yet thick. I enjoyed how there was a little crispiness on top of the pancake. I was given whipped butter in the small package that were frozen. It wasn't really a problem they melted pretty fast. I just couldn't spread the butter right away. Eggs were scrambled and definitely three eggs. I chose Bacon and it was cooked all the way but not burnt. A little jerky-like for me but parts were crisp. Surprisingly I got an order of hash browns which weren't listed on the #3. They were good but thin layer so most of the had brown was really crispy. The Cafe is known for its lunch and dinner mainly chicken fried steak which I have not tried. The breakfast will work everything cost me around $10. I think they will need to have more workers following the old adage "if your not ready to be busy you never will be!" The Multi-talented Waitress was more than satisfactory at providing me with good service but if there would have been 4 or 5 people in the Cafe I think there would be an issue. I'm sure that lunch and dinner have more staff because I have seen lots of cars during lunch. Breakfast is served from 6:00 am to 10:45am. read more

This is average for lunch. My chicken fried chicken was very thin and the crust fell off. Food salty . Roll was very good.
