The espresso drinks were outright disappointing, and our breakfast items deserved to serve their ingredients better. My oatmilk latte was flat, dry, and devoid of complexity and acidity. My quiche had undersalted eggs, strange-tasting cheese, and a crust that ate as if it were microwaved. And my brother didn't finish his mocha - which is just so rare for him - and he described it as Swiss Miss. On top of that, we waited a good 20 minutes for our disappointing food and drinks. The struggling sole person working the bar, the oven, and the register really needed a coworker. It was a typical cafe vibe inside. Pros: cozy spot with tons of seating. Great place to hang, especially on a cold, wintry or rainy day. Reasonably close to downtown (just a couple of blocks off Winslow). Plenty of warm (and cold) drinks, and a reasonable breakfast and lunch menu. You order at the counter, but they will bring it to your table. Cons: I ordered a sandwich--the turkey BLT--which was okay, but just okay. On non-descript wheat bread, bagged lettuce (which was a little wilty), and a round of processed turkey. Bacon seemed reasonably freshly cooked, however. Upshot: nice place to hang, especially with a warm beverage in hand. I would go again just for that, and likely will. As for lunch--which, granted, I only tried one of their sandwiches--there are much better sandwich options on the Island. read more

We received our overpriced paninis and they were less than subpar. my friend who received the dirty looks got a grilled cheese and it was literally a millimeter thick. The test of a place really depends on many factors but especially the leadership and how they manage the inevitable bumps in the road. I was super excited to see this place offered Lotus, but unfortunately the guy making my drink today didn't know how to make it at all I ordered a 20 oz and he put about 2 inches of syrup at the bottom of the cup... it was WAY too much, which is crazy for me to say because I like sweet drinks. He also never asked which flavor of base I would like and automatically chose a purple base for me when I ordered a peach flavored drink, which made a pretty gross combo and the whole drink tasted like grape. All in all, I think some more training is needed on the amount of syrup to put in, and to ask the customer which flavor of base they would like before just assuming. read more

A great little cafe on a corner off of the main st. Great place for some lunch & coffee or beer if you're feeling it. They have a little bit of everything; sandwiches, wraps, salads, ice cream, milkshakes, coffee etc. we ended up getting the ring of fire sandwich which was pretty different from the usual sandwich options. It's one of their specials, I highly recommend trying it if you like something with a little kick. Also got the veggie wrap, was pretty good with a variety of veggies & hummus. Both served with ridge cut kettle chips which were yummy. Boyfriend got the ridge top ale, seemed to enjoy it. They have a lot of fall drink specials, I ended up trying the chaider which is a combination of chai & apple cider. It was surprisingly good! Service was good, the cashier at the counter was nice & helpful with suggestions. Didn't take long to get our food. read more

Very cute and cozy spot to have some coffee , the staff was very nice and patient with us since it was our first time and we took a bit looking at the menu ! We ordered a cup of hot chocolate and a ham and cheese quiche and I have to say they had our order ready very fast and everything was nice and hot so you knew it didn't sit there for awhile which was a bonus . They also had a small area with cool and cute little gifts so we ended up also purchasing a puzzle and a nice cool deck of cards . Possibly the worst ambiance on Bainbridge Island. Pastry case almost completely empty, and the ice cream freezer looked a mess, but we were hungry so we gave it a go. We ordered two mediocre coffees, a good tuna sandwich, a brownie (that came out iced cold), and a kids quesadilla. They must have typed in the order on the ticket incorrectly because they brought out a pb and j for the kid instead. When we asked for it to be corrected, the cashier woman hesitated and glanced at the cook (woman with black hair), and the cook gave us an exasperated sigh saying that's how the ticket came in. The cashier was kind enough to correct it for us. It felt like a really shitty experience though, we weren't asking for something elaborate to be made, it was just a cheese quesadilla that didn't even come out fully melted. The star is for the tuna sandwich. Will never come again, hate being made to feel like a burden for a mistake that wasn't ours. read more

Cups just raised its flag to announce it doesn't care about coffee. They no longer serve 8 oz drinks "to care for the environment". Go ahead, flood that espresso in poorly foamed milk (actually, this latte has pretty good 1990s cappuccino milk! sea foam on top, scalded milk on the bottom), I didn't want to taste the coffee anyway. Cups has let the ice cream world infect them, where they increase the size so they can justify charging more. read more

We came over from Seattle and found the cutest coffee shop. The drip was amazing.. we got some snacks and hung out for a bit. Tiffany made our day. She was very friendly and explained the ingredients to us. (Food allergies) she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of while helping other people as well. I loved it here! I'm from Covington, WA and this place was prefect when we visited the island. I got a vanilla chai and it was the best chai I've ever had from a cafe! It was about $6 and they have huge pastries for like $4! It's so cute, good quality, and excellent service. The barista was so sweet and super friendly. Definitely recommend coming here! read more

The tables are not regularly wiped down, and particularly the one in front of the couch. Bathroom needs more regular attention too. I contacted Cups to order lunch for a meeting with 20 people. We picked up the order. They did an excellent job of preparing the meals, marking each box with the specific order, and they meals were great! Only item to note is that you are limited to 6 orders on line at a time. read more
