Had a great experience buying my 06 Tundra Limited double Cab. I have never bought a car from a used car dealership before. I am really tempted now cause you save so much money when buying second hand with all the luxuries. Jeremy and David even let me go home and think about it. BUYERS, WOMEN AND CHILDREN BEWARE!!! I bought a Toyota Camry from this place and before I got to the 101 the check engine light came on! I made a U-turn and took it back to the dealership. David informed me that the warranty I had signed less than an hour ago didn't cover that and also assured me that the light was a irrelevant problem that would only be an issue during a smog check. He said to come back when I needed the car smogged and they would help me out. Fast forward two years later. David no longer works there and Mike the manager was less than pleased and "surprised" that a customer would come back in after owning a car for two years. They "did me a favor" and had the check engine light turned off and advised me to buy a new gas cap. I just got back from the smog testing station and they say the car still wont pass. in regards to my complaint Jeremy adds insult to injury... In the reply he states the vehicles are checked- yet the major transmission problems in the car I purchased were not detected. Nor were other problems, which were probably caused by excess use of former owner, that were detected by a third party shop after the purchase a few days after the dealership performed a the first repair. The representative (Jeremy) promised verbally, before purchasing, that the car had been thoroughly checked and when I asked if I should get it checked by a third party he said there is no need- the car is 100% ok (his words). I took the car for a test drive but was not allowed to go beyond a radius of a block, so how could I have detected the noise that only appeared while driving on the freeway? His insistence and promises of full warranty assured me I did not need a second opinion- had he said the car might have issues since they did not lift and check it, I would have gotten the car checked and avoided wasting my time and money. Their efforts to reply to my complaints after the purchase were feeble; I left messages and had to call repeatedly to get in information while the car was being fixed, workers that we not Jeremy were unpleasant and unhelpful. At our last conversation Jeremy went so far as to blame me for the transmission problems(!!!!!)- although the problems appeared immediately after purchase. When I returned the car Jeremy and the owner were extremely unpleasant. They repeated over and over again how they fixed the car without asking me to pay for it but ignored my pleas that Jeremy had promised the car was perfect- and ignored the hours I lost by just trying to get a hold of Jeremy and returning the car twice, while not living in the area. Finally they offered me my money back- which I thought was fair. I was willing to absorb the 350$ for cancelling the contract and never return but they felt that charging me 250$ for detailing ("reconditioning") a car that was at the dealership more than it was driven, was a good show of faith. Furthermore, I resent the fact that he would imply my origins have anything to do with a proper and legal transaction being held. I may have spent some years abroad but I am still a US citizen and a California resident and I do not understand how me being "mixed", could impair my judgment. This was not a misunderstanding or a perception problem. You should not promise a car is 100% ok- when it's not. read more

When my Ford escape took a turn I had to buy a new motor and had major anxiety, I wasn't looking forward to going to car yards and dealing with sales men haggling and selling me a clunker. The moment I arrived at Baires I was taken care of, David expertly eyed up a lovely silver grey BMW convertable which he thought would be just my cup of tea, I was debating the X5, but he gave me an honest break down of each car, and after finding out my expectations I was adviced to but the convertable. Just what ab Essex girl needs to cruise the highways in California, also being English the thought of buying a car here in America was pretty scary, However David was awesome and Jeremy then handled all the paperwork and got me an amazing deal, which was completed swiftly and effortlessly, made so much more pleasant because he is also a cheeky chappy from London. Loved the banter made me feel right at home. The whole process was done and done and I was out in no time, with a full guarantee to bring back car if any problems. If your a girl on your own and looking to buy a car I hundred per cent recommend coming here, not given the hard sell, very layed back and comfortable environment. Definatly would send friends here. I just bought a car from Baires. I love my car and they gave me a great deal. Salesman Casey was awesome. Patient and not pushy. All their cars look like they are in great shape. I was extremely annoyed that I bought a car and that day took it to get checked and the mechanic said no one had changed the oil in probably 8000 miles. I think they should have changed the oil and filled up the tank. I spent over $14000 I expected better service. read more

I had been burned in the past by bad car deals and was reluctant to trust any dealer. But the guys there, made me feel, I could trust them. Let's not kid ourselves! $200 of work for free??? You are literally out of your mind! The window switch was $26.00. When the mechanic attempted to replace the switch, he was likely on the clock and billing for labor and decided to take the door panel off to replace the window switch with the wrong part and subsequently screwed up the door sensor which now indicates the door is open when it is not! I was given a BS answer that it would require a lot of diagnostics and troubleshooting ($$$$) to locate the sensor and fix. So, not only are you completely misrepresenting the work done on my vehicle, surprise, surprise, you are inflating your costs too! You guys allegedly ordered the wrong switch and it somehow took 4 weeks to get the correct one. David (salesman) installed it inside of 2 minutes, with only a flathead screwdriver, just so I didn't have to come back!!! He was obviously much more efficient than your mechanic who could've tried to replace the switch without taking the whole door panel off! All repairs must be done by Baires mechanics! Why, so they can exaggerate on the labor needed to complete repairs?? I'm sure you guys would've tried to bill for 2 hours of labor when all the job required was 2 minutes and a screwdriver! At a loss for words here....I bought a beautiful Mazada Protege5 from them...I've been looking for this car and found it at Baires. Yes they are friendly and courteous and I drove from Lake Forest jsut for this car. Within three weeks it started to smoke real bad with misfiring (eng light)...found out it was a bad fuel injector and o ring seals weren't sealed correctly...SOMEONE reworked the injectors and put it back together with shotty work. I called Baires up and explaiend the issue. David (from Baires) said he would check into it and call me back, he never did I had to call the next day. By this time I already got the repairs done with a reputable automechanic and told Baires it cost me $600. Baires wanted me to bring the vehicle to them after the work was done! They said they can fix it for half the cost..HELLO! I live in LAKE FOREST rememebr the towing alone would cost me $200 at least. I gave them every opportunity to do the right thing and they know i live to far away. If it would have cost them half that price... I asked if they can just send me half of the bill ($300) they refused...I even offered if they can just cover the parts $240...and still no. Worst still the person refusing never had the guts to talk to me personally. As a matter of fact he refused to speak with me and had David and Jeremy (also Baires employee) to do the talking for him. I know I was at a disadvantage when I purchased it "As Is" but three weeks and this happens and Baires didnt even step up to satisfy their customer. I bought a mustang from them and had no problem what so ever. I think that any body buying a used car should do your home work first. You should decide first what you want and review several examples from different dealers. Then test drive several examples of whatever you want. large dealers and small dealers are all the same. You must take charge of the deal and know how to make a good inspection of a car yourself. After thirty years of buying cars, I had good cars and problem cars. Always use the internet and check history problems of whatever model car you want first. I never bought a car the first time I saw or drove it. If possible go home and really think of all the pros and cons. If the car is gone when you come back, then you were never suppose to own it.One last thing, if you are not a car nut, then find someone who is and get their help. I always help my friends if they need it, and help fight the salesman with them. I hope this helps somebody. read more
