Honda Van Nuys is just an average car dealership. I say this because the employees are kind and attentive before you buy a car, but after, they're hard to get a hold of and give mediocre customer service when you finally reach them. I leased my 2025 CRV from here last year and have gone back two times since then for service. I got a great price on my lease and the experience was smooth, but there were hiccups and annoyances at both of my service appointments. It's really a mixed bag here. For one, the facilities and showroom are gorgeous, and they have a great inventory. But their staff is inconsistent. It started with my friend when she was last in the market for a used car. She explicitly stated she wanted a hybrid, which I guess was not in stock, because the sales person who was helping her kept pushing her towards a gasoline vehicle, stating that they "both drive exactly the same," when it's common knowledge that they don't. Then, I visited in January and, though the salespeople were definitely pushy, especially the manager who came out at the end, it was nothing beyond a standard dealership experience. Didn't get a car that day, but came back a few months later (April of this year) when I was in a better position. One of the lead sales people told me to come back another day because they were "too busy," but the showroom was nearly empty. You would think that they would want to sell their cars, especially when I told them I didn't live or work close by and that there were other dealers closer to me, but it just left a really poor taste in my mouth. read more

We went to this dealership today and the experience was subpar. After going through reviews, we see that a customer had the exact same scenario play out, with the exact same person, Todd. This situation could have been avoided if we had just read the review prior to going and wasting our time at this dealership. The dealership had a 4th of July special advertised on their website. We called in to make sure the car was still available and Todd us the car was at the dealership and the deal was in effect, asked us to come in, and asked if we knew the address to the dealership. Once, we arrived, he tried to upsell us on a different car because the one he said was on the lot, was not in stock. He also lied about the credit score requirements to qualify for the lease special, which doesn't affect us since we have excellent credit, to imply that if our credit score was not good enough, the lease price would increase. It is a complete waste of time when you deal with bait and switch tactics from shady people and businesses that allow these types of practices to continue occurring on a routine basis. read more

SCAM ALERT: Called to ask about my AC not working on my 2019 civic, because there also appears to be a recall on this similar issue. They wanted to charge me NEARLY SIX HUNDRED dollars for a diagnostic check, and if it's a recall, then they'll waive the diagnostic and service fees. So these scumbags are essentially playing slot machine with you, gambling your chances. But don't be surprised if they come up with excuses that it won't be covered. Classic scumbag, scoundrel dealership trickery. Anyway, 10 seconds later I called the next Honda dealership that wasn't in the ghetto like this one and they were only charging 270 for diagnostics. Extremely disappointing experience at Honda of Van Nuys. I had a very disappointing experience with Honda of Van Nuys. Before driving to the dealership, I specifically contacted Todd regarding a 2026 Honda Prologue EX FWD advertised at $197/month with $3,777 due at signing. Todd personally texted me the offer, confirmed that the vehicle was "Available!", provided the dealership address, and asked me to come in and ask for him. I arrived approximately 30 minutes later, only to be told that the vehicle was no longer available and that I should consider a much more expensive trim level instead. What made the situation even worse was Todd's behavior afterward. When I asked to speak with a manager, Todd seemed to avoid me and stayed hidden in the office, only occasionally looking out. After the manager got involved, Todd changed his story and claimed that he had just returned from vacation and didn't know the vehicle was no longer available. Frankly, that explanation did not seem believable. I've visited many dealerships before, and even when a promotional vehicle was already sold, salespeople were usually honest and upfront about it over the phone. This is the first time I've experienced this level of misinformation and wasted effort. read more

I got my Accord back when they were at their old location and got it at a good price. Every person experience at a dealership will vary based on the person they work with. My wife and I had one of the worst dealership experiences we've ever had at Van Nuys Honda on April 11, 2026. Before visiting, my wife spoke with a salesperson named Edgar about a vehicle advertised online for around $24,999. She was specifically told the price was negotiable, so we made a noon appointment and came in expecting a normal good-faith negotiation. When we arrived, Edgar was nowhere to be found and we were handed off to another salesperson, Gary, who took us on a test drive. Afterward, we were suddenly told the advertised online price was off and that the actual price should have been closer to $28,000. We were also told they could maybe get closer to the advertised price only if they removed features that were included in the listing, including an aftermarket alarm system. At that point it became obvious the online pricing was just being used to get people into the dealership. Even worse, the General Sales Manager, Darin Lawrence, got involved and was extremely rude and confrontational when we questioned the pricing tactics. The situation escalated when my wife held onto a worksheet that had her personal information on it, including DMV/address information, because we no longer trusted the dealership to handle it appropriately. Instead of handling the situation professionally, Darin aggressively ripped the paper out of her hands in a way that almost knocked her over. He even admitted they use list the prices lower to get people to come in. What a waste of time. He then refused to shred the document in front of us and threw it into what he claimed was a locked shred bin. We left shocked by the entire interaction. We've negotiated for cars before -- that's normal. Misleading pricing, aggressive behavior, and threats involving customer personal information are not. I later attempted to contact dealership management and never received a response. I would avoid them unless you know what you are getting into to, or are going in there for a specific model. We were looking at a used Nissan they were selling and the experience was awful. read more
