    Crab Imperial Side of Slaw

I have been meaning to go here forever. It is a little bit of a hike from East Vineland but the drive is scenic when you are on the approaching back roads. Our server was very attentive. We went on Sunday 10.23 at an odd time probably around 2pm in the afternoon so we were almost the only people in the restaurant. We had the malt vinegar fries with garlic aioli. We had two glasses of wine. We had the crab cake sandwich and the crab imperial. I have never had an imperial before that did not have a cream sauce base so that threw me off. It was well seasoned and buttery so I have no complaints about it. The views from the restaurant are relaxing and it is nice eating near the water. The hostess and our server were very nice and made us feel welcome.

Had my hopes up for some blue claw crabs and when we got there at 5:15 they were only serving "salad" cold crabs. I never had them and wanted the ones with old bay. My mom had the salad crabs and I tried some claws and they were good. I got the snow crab clusters and they were very small. I had to ask for melted butter.

Slow service from the first drink. I do hate that for that first one, especially since I was parched. Unfortunately, they either weren't coming fast enough or there was too much ice and not enough drink, since I felt parched the rest of the night. I am not a fan of the Summer Kiss cocktail with watermelon vodka. The recipe did call for water--a little too much for my taste. Of course I loved the Pineapple Bomb with SoCo and amaretto. The crab dip was excellent, served with warm tortilla chips. I wish I could say the same for the burger, but since he didn't ask how I like it cooked, I got an over cooked piece of meat. At a hundred and fourteen bucks before tip for three, one non-alcoholic, the bar fare was a little steep for me. The non-alcoholic member of our party didn't even get the second lemonade she ordered, so I can't even blame the barmaid!

One of the first restaurants you come to when coming in from I-95 is Water Street seafood, a restaurant that provides a great relaxed vibe, consistent with the area. They have an outdoor patio which was far too hot on the 4th of July weekend, so we sat right inside the dining room. There was a great energy in the place coming from both staff and other patrons. There's a decent view from the restaurant itself, but certainly head to the lighthouse area just about a mile away for the best views and pictures - it's definitely a cute town to explore. We had the tuna nachos, steamed shrimp, and a couple of soft drinks. Many of the other tables were ordering the crabs. Pricing averaged about $30 per person, including drinks, tip and tax. All of the servers carried similar high energy and efficiency, Samantha served our table and she was great. If you're even close to Havre de Grace, you owe it to yourself to stop by Water Street Seafood.

Another bang up find! This place is the real deal. Get there early and HUNGRY! All the staff were…read morecool and friendly. The decor was simple and not over the top "oceany" as some tourist traps. I saw they were inland which I like. I try to avoid the neon wharf spots and I was so happy. I sat at the bar, which was full of welcoming locals and a tired traveling clown (me). The gravelly-voiced owner of I thing third generation paused a few times between sending out trays of steaming crab. He was a perfect blend of warm-hearted welcoming and hard-bitten tyrant. I went for the all you can eat feast at $69 (prices always subject to change) which comes with fries, hush puppies and coleslaw. I was assured the sizes were running large and it wasn't just a line. I was happy with the mediums. All I can say is they do crab RIGHT here. Fresh steamed ONCE so the meat is incredibly moist and succulent. And they just kept coming in trays of four. I ended up having a dozen which made it a deal at $69 compared at the price of a dozen à la carte. But who cares?!? They are blue crabs steaming and fresh and it was a feast. Side dish commentary: the fries are excellent. None of this cardboard tasting shoestrings. They were thick cut with skin on! The hush puppies classically tasty and the Cole slaw was not over dressed. Bonus!!! I can't wait to go back and try the she-crab soup and the bread pudding (highly recommend by my neighbor at the bar who is a local restaurateur).
