I had to take time out of my day, not once not twice, but MULTIPLE times to reach out to the staff and request a refund for the 2 slices of pie equaling about $15 that we never received with our pickup order. We attended a luncheon after a funeral, and the food was absolutely disgusting. The chicken parmigiana was bad, the sauce tasted rotten and the pasta tasted of a chemical taste. I explained this to the server, after three people at our table complained, she said she had sold several of these and no one else complained. So what? My wife and I have driven passed the Green Olive on Rt. 49 in Bridgeton, NJ many times. Each time we pass I wonder if the inside is as nice as the outside. Today, we finally stopped in and the inside is even nicer than the outside. The place is beautiful and immaculately clean. My wife ordered the roasted turkey with mashed potatoes, gravy and a garden salad. The roasted turkey was actually sliced roasted turkey, not sliced deli turkey. The gravy tasted like it was made from scratch, not poured out of a jar like most places. I ordered the grilled chicken with vegetable medley. The chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful. There was a nice assortment of vegetables that were cooked to perfection. For an extra $2.00 I added the French Onion Soup - delicious and well worth it. Our server, Heidi, was marvelous. she told us about the love and the ingredients that go into preparing their food. She was right, you could tell the difference. When the meal came out it was nice and hot. Let me tell you this place is a real gem. As for the prices I was pleasantly surprised. The prices were better, and the food was better than most places I've been to. The bottom line is that the Bridgeton Green Olive far exceeded my expectations. I cam here with 2 customers and a colleague for lunch. After a brief wait we were seated in a socially distanced area. Masks are required except for eating. I would think that food service workers would be the best at providing service especially with reduced customers. Our waitress couldn't have gotten anything right. I ordered the Chipotle Turkey Panini special which came with soup or salad. I ordered the clam chowder which was excellent. The sandwich was open faced, but I was able to eat it like a sandwich while my colleague decided to use a knife and fork. How was it that our server was capable of getting all 4 orders to the wrong person? Drink refills? Forget about it! I would think there's enough capable talent out there to fill whatever food service positions are available. The waitress seemed nervous as her hands were shaky; but overall she did her best with serving our party. The car ended up having a flat tire because a Olive Garden waiter ended up slashing it. The manager and all the employees ended up fixing up my car and then brought me inside. This place is hit or miss. The linguini with clam sauce is always delicious. The beer and wine selection is great but the salmon is not good. I would not recommend getting the salmon here. It did not taste fresh. They also have a serious fly problem. I counted over 20 flies swarming around and above my table. Which totally destroyed my appetite. There has to be a way for them to get rid of the flies. I am sure a good pest control company can help them eradicate the flies. For the price this place is worth checking out. I didn't think it was possible to find a four star worthy place in deep South Jersey. But it's happened. The family's been here a few times and loves the place. Meh, I think in my inflated NYC head, I don't believe in good south jersey food until I experience it for myself. So I finally checked it out for lunch the other day, and I really gotta give the place props. We each had a "petite" meal, which was anything but petite. For $14.95, we each got a respectable garden salad (not the usual iceberg lettuce, cabbage and carrot shreds typical of South Jersey spots- but actual greens- romaine and spring greens), a very sizeable portion of lump crab meat stuffed something or other (I got the stuffed jumbo shrimp, while others in my party got the stuffed flounder, stuffed salmon and stuffed mushrooms- all delicious), an amazing sauteed vegetable medley ("vegetable medley" usually conjures up images of bland, steamed frozen cauliflower, peas, and carrots-- but this vegetable medley kinda blew my mind. The vegetables were fresh and not frozen, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly sauteed to a nice al dente-ness), a nicely baked potato (a couple of people in our party asked for a sweet potato substitute, which the waitress happily accommodated and replaced with a nicely roasted sweet potato topped with brown sugar and honey), AND a choice of homemade pudding (pumpkin, bread pudding or rice pudding) or ice cream. We decided to share a couple of slices of cheesecakes (the restaurant offers a selection of Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes... I know all my new york folks are rolling their eyes right now... but Cheesecake Factory is about as good as you're gonna get in these parts)-- which I gotta admit was a pretty good ending. Service was prompt, waitress was patient and accommodating, and restaurant has a homey/family run feel. Apparently the pastas here are also good... although, I'm still skeptical of how good Italian can be in these parts... Was over charged , I was scammed ordered a crab melt and returned the fries (this is take out due to the covid 19) because they didn't have the original fries only old Wendy fries. I returned the fries because I should've been made aware of they didn't have the restaurant fries only Wendy fries , My receipt says one thing but my bank transaction says another . If you do the math they cashier tipped herself . Be careful paying with a card. I wonder how many people they do this too . The service was horrible because the cashier didn't wear a mask or gloves while touching food . I also asked for a cake since my fries was old and brown and soggy ./Wendy fries she did not wash or put gloves on when I asked for my cake. Just had breakfast at the Millville location. I had heard that the decor was very nice, and that didn't disappoint! It reminds me of the Cheesecake Factory, which may have been intentional since they used to get their cheesecake from there. I was not impressed with the food or the service. The dining room is large, with only one waitress this morning. They weren't busy yet as we were there early, but the kitchen and coffee were not convenient for her. So, coffee refill was a wait, and she had a large area to cover. Food was okay, but everything arrived just slightly warm, not hot enough, including the coffee which tasted slightly watery. Pancakes kind of chewy, husband didn't eat sausage after a bite or two. Eggs okay. Close inspection of table and dining area was dusty around the edges, we won't be in a rush to go back. read more

I'm a regular here, if that tells you anything. This restaurant is consistent with offering delicious menu items. Their specials are always delicious. They have THE BEST chicken quesadilla around and on Fridays they have excellent cream of crab soup. Their staff are always friendly and attentive. I've never had bad service here. It's also super clean. They offer petite meals which come with dessert (pudding or ice cream) as do all the specials. They carry Cheesecake Factory desserts. During the indoor dining shutdown, we ordered takeout from here several times. Our orders were always ready on time and correct. If you're looking for a great place to eat in this area, go here! They have put a lot of money into remodelling this place. They now have a full bar. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting, with a fireplace and an awesome fish pond complete with turtles, which entertains the kids. The service was friendly, but a little slow tonight--it was quite busy, so that may be forgivable. The food has been consistantly good the last few visits. The veal cordon bleu was not exactly what we were expecting, but it had a good taste. The deserts look delish, but I had to call it quits. If you haven't been for a while it is worth a revisit, especially since they have updated their menu recently. There are not a whole lot of choices in this area, so a finer semi-upscale establishment with a kid's menu that serves alcohol is always welcome. read more

Metal in take out order: It's been a week since I found a curled piece of metal in my chowder. I took the piece back to the restaurant to show the manager or owner the next morning after throwing out our entries. The girl behind the said someone would call me back ASAP. Seemed she was more interested in eating her eggs behind the counter than listening to me explain how I almost swallowed this piece of metal. We have driven by Green Olive many times when it was not convenient to stop. Today (New Year's Day) was different and we stopped for lunch. While the restaurant was not crowded, it had a steady stream of customers and there was plenty of polite and helpful staff. My wife had the Prime Rib Cheese Steak sandwich and I had the French Dip sandwich. We each had a cup of the Cream of Broccoli soup. My wife's soup was included with her sandwich as she had chosen one of the several lunch specials. Both lunches came with really good French Fries. Also we received warm rolls and olive oil dipping sauce with our soup courses. Both of the rolls in our sandwiches and the rolls that came with the soup were delicious. A restaurant can make or break its reputation as a place for sandwiches by how good the bread is. Here Green Olive excels. They do not skimp on the insides of the sandwiches either. The beef in both of our sandwiches was tender and plentiful. My au jus was very flavorful as were the onions and peppers in my wife's sandwich. The sandwiches were probably 10 to 12 inches long and each of us took home half of our sandwich as we will have them for lunch tomorrow. read more

When you specifically ask to be seated in a quieter area, then the hostess has no clue and seats you next to loud, noisey party of 8, its not going to be a good night. We said no we dont want to sit near others, especially a large party. It was not busy, it was early evening and plenty of empty booths. so we picked a booth far away and sat there. The shrimp scampi tasteless and it didnt help that a few flies were eating at our table too the whole time. not a good sign either. the waitress was too loud and not very polished, so to speak. we will skip this place next time. none of us enjoyed it at all. will not be back. hostess needs to be trained on how to space seating out and to follow instructions! read more

This restaurant is beautiful on the outside. When you pull up you just know the food is going to be amazing. I have never been to this place but a friend of mines recommended that we go for lunch. The interior still needs work, the boths are very uncomfortable and outdated. It seems all the money went to the exterior of the building and not the interior, food, chef's and so on. The food was horrible. We literally had to eat with napkins on our food and drinks to keep the flies off. The manager Sinan who was on at the time I feel really did not care or he was just used to these complaints. Food 1.The crabcakes were bland and fishy 2. Their steak quesadilla was very greesy and should be called a philly cheese steak quesadilla because they did not use the proper cut of steak to make a steak quesadilla. 3. Their vanilla bean cheesecake was stiff and not at the proper temperature for a refrigerated item. The flies enjoyes the cheesecake more. 4. Roast beef looked so dry like it was sitting on display for months. 5. Mash potatoes, I do not think the mash potatoes are real. These have to be potatoes out of a box. Please note that all food was returned due to taste and the flies that kept landing on our food. This is my fiste and last time I will ever go here. You have been warned.
