I discovered The Shipyard on Facebook. Only a half hour from our house and it was an easy drive. While yesterday was darn hot, the main section had overhead misters helping somewhat. There is also outdoor (not under an enclosure) seating. The space is huge and has all kind of fun things to do - games galore (yay Cornhole!). Beautiful views, photo opps a plenty, delicious, albeit a small menu and portions, food, (also a food truck) and live entertainment! And OMG the gorgeous sunset!!! A great location to relax with your family and friends. Outdoor patio along the Delaware River shoreline with wonderful views. The drinks are a bit overpriced, but the atmosphere helps balance that out. I've tried the food truck at the Shipyard location, and while I haven't sampled the mac & cheese myself, several folks I spoke with swore it was excellent. That's definitely on my list for next time. The barkeeps are solid, friendly, attentive, and they keep things moving even when the place gets packed. Service overall is up to par. Just a heads-up: it gets busy on weekends, especially when a Philly sports event is airing on the TVs, so expect a lively crowd. read more

A really lovely spot to watch some sunsets while enjoying a drink and some pub fair. Games, tv and good seating make for a nice and relaxing time to socialize with some friends. Bathrooms are also surprising clean. Only gripe is that they're only open until midnight:( read more

I love the vibe... the views are beautiful, right off of the Delaware River. They have an open floor plan where you feel as close to the water as possible and have cornhole available to play. However, I rated a 4 and not a 5 for a few reason: 1. Music selection is selective... and by selective, I mean country only. 2. Most drinks are on tap. Including "mixed" cocktails such as mojitos, margaritas, etc. 3. The food selection is unfortunately, TRASH. Was always told by friends that this place was worth the 50 min drive , so we gathered up some friends and decided to try it out. Pulling up it's tucked away in a not so desirable part of town but the property is well maintained and sticks out like a sore thumb. Entering the grounds you're met with large firepits and a nice view of the water, making our way into the indoor seating area it's all metal shipping containers, there's a bar and you order your food from an online site and your number comes up and you pick up your food. The service seemed fine, there's wasn't a whole lot of interaction with servicers besides picking up food and walking to the bar for drinks but it was fine no issues there. The food was good, we all basically ordered most of the menu and all kinda of picked from what we wanted, It is however pretty expensive. You can reserve fire pits I believe it was $200 for 4 hrs, my buddy handled that and I can't remember what he said. At the end of the day we had a great time, we played cornhole and watched the boats go by complete with a nice sunset. We will return however it is to far for us to become regulars. read more

Did not expect to find this place right off of Riverview Beach Park. We went to the park for a walk, and saw the Shipyard sign in the distance so we had to check it out. The place was very clean and the service is more of the do it yourself type (which is not a complaint at all). You choose your own table or go up to the order Window, scan the QR code with your phone and use the ToastTab website to place your order. Super easy if you have your credit card already set up on your phone or if you have an account already with ToastTab. I did wonder about some of the older folks who aren't so tech savvy, but it did look like they were able to order their food at the Window or the Bar with a person if necessary. If you order through your phone, you will get a text when your food is ready and you can go pick it up at the Window. Our drinks were actually brought to our table by the bartender. The food was great. It was a wee bit pricy, but if you're ordering seafood that's usually how it goes. Yes their menu is a little limited, but I think it encompasses all the right food considering its location right along the Delaware River. The style of this bar/restaurant is open. So there is indoor seating, but the entire restaurant is opened by garage doors with fans blowing to keep you cool. There is also outdoor seating with chairs or picnic tables. Second time here. Last year I went on a Sunday had pork quesadillas and shrimp. Day later found out I had ECOLI. I think it was the quesadillas. Anyway tried again yesterday. There are no waitresses which I think this place would benefit having some. Menu is QR code and pick up window which I'm not a fan of. It's dog friendly. I'm fine with that as long as dog are on leash and well trained. Walked into bathroom and what is in there? A dog?! It's a tight bathroom to begin with. I visited The Shipyard on Memorial Day for part of their Grand Opening Week festivities. The Delaware Riverfront location is a plus in mild weather (This is the former Riverview Inn and still owned by J.G. Cook's organization.), but it will be blazing hot in the summer due to lack of shade outside. The indoor space is relatively small, and was full to capacity 30 minutes after opening. Depending on the placement of the outdoor entertainment, you may not be able to see or hear them from inside. Outdoor seating is limited to scattered Adirondack chairs and very limited table tops, so plan to bring a lawn chair to enjoy the outside. The drink menu is very limited and specialty cocktails are not cheap. PLEASE NOTE: They automatically include a gratuity on the check, which they do not point out. Also, they charge $50 to your credit card to start a tab--which they also failed to mention. The $50 is refunded when you close your tab. The indoor food options are very limited, so my friends and I bought food from the 2 food trucks present that day: Baby Blue (owned by J.G. Cook's Carolina Blue) and Just Fork It. The food was just okay, and not really a good value for the portion sizes. My friends and I had a good time due to a rocking band and pleasant weather, but I would think twice before returning. read more

Overrated Sweetie. On Friday evening around 6:30, we came to shipyard. 8 adults, , 11yr old and a 3 year old. We had great table service our waiters were on point. The Lobster food truck was there..Shipyards crab cakes were terrible. Cheese wiz or whatever that was ( watery,overpried etc etc.. . Fries were soggy as helll. lllll. Flies attacked ewvewrything within minutes.The generic beer choices were warm. Great views though..until girl approached our area. She came out of the woodworks, guns blazing about a 3$ ice cream bar he was eating. did not introduce herself to anyone..but proceeded to talk to my 11 year old nephew(like he was an adult) and started to go off on him in front of us 8 adults. Then proceeds to say to me( TALKING TO ME FROM BEHIND ) that we need to control our kids. .?? The situation was controlled..she should control her wardrobe..not two kids innocent and being kids.. and saying they stole how dare you. they were not disrupting anyone. I told her(whoever she is) she should not be addressing a kid and to not call him sweetie in the most condescending way you could say it.
