Crispy garlic chicken and large order of spring rolls.
    Robin S.

Noi Thai, which operates Baitong on Wheels, is one of the more popular Thai restaurants in town, so expectations are correspondingly high for their food truck. The menu is limited - not unusual for a food truck but I couldn't help comparing Baitong with that of its neighbor at River's Place, SOPA, which boasts quite a few more offerings (it's a bigger truck, granted). My expectations rise higher, thinking Baitong can concentrate on just a few dishes. - Quick if perfunctory service. I waited maybe five minutes for my food. - Prices are quite reasonable. - Crispy garlic chicken: tasty if a bit too sweet. Chicken was prepared perfectly. At other places the sweet sauce might devolve into a cloying disaster but Baitong avoids that. If you like sweet and sour food, you'll probably like this one. For myself, I'd like a hot sauce - even sriracha would do - to kick it up. As it is, the dish came with one packet of sweet and sour sauce (ingredients: sugar, vinegar, more sugar). I'd say the portion was generous even subtracting the very large serving of rice. - Spring rolls: I opted for a large order which, according to the menu, should comprise four rolls. I got five. They're OK but could use a dip of some sort, even soy sauce would help. Maybe that packet of sweet and sour sauce was meant for the rolls but there's no way I'm dipping anything into that. (Note to self: bring soy packets and hot sauce when visiting food carts). The menu offers just one entree for vegetarians, the yellow curry tofu, which will limit my wife's interest in Baitong. I would like to see the fried tofu cubes available with the pad thai, but the menu calls for only chicken or shrimp with that dish. All in all, a good food option at River's Place.

Pad see eww - the broccoli was nicely al dente I appreciate that. There was something strange about the overall taste - no bad exactly just a lil perplexing.

This is the newest addition at River's Place. Today's rainy and cool weather gave me an excuse to try their food. Service was friendly. Our food was ready to n less than 10mins. We ordered red curry chicken and chicken pad Thai. I asked fur spicy pad Thai and I was handed a spice packet so I can spice it up however I want. Food looked and smelled good. The curry came with Jasmine rice. It was piping hot. A little too creamy and sweet for my liking but the heat was spot on. It was perfect for this weather and complemented our drinks. The pad Thai was pretty sweet(for me anyway). IA splash of lime juice and the whole packet of dried Thai peppers helped a lot. Servings are just enough. I would say they are a good addition to River's Place.

Chicken pad Thai and crab wontons

The crab wontons here are scrumptious! A little disappointed with the pad Thai, sweet but no kick of spice like I prefer. I've usually been asked what spice level I like at other places, so maybe they just forgot this step with my order. Partially my fault for not remembering to ask. Price wise- decent. I spent $21 for a small 3 piece wontons, chicken pad Thai and a can soda. Can soda was flat and expired in 2022 so check before drinking.

Disappointed. My garlic chicken dish was over-breaded nuggets. No basil. No peppers. The lady working the window was nice.

You know my chicken was cold. The rice was soggy. They were out of their best dish. So it was overall pretty mediocre

Great place across from Costco. Yummy chicken with basil and red curry. Also delicious potstickers and Thai iced tea.

I went with the tomato curry, and it was really good, and very filling. I ended up eating half and taking half with me. The grilled vegetables were definitely my favorite! They tasted so fresh, well grilled, and full of flavor, despite having no seasoning or anything like that. We were munching on grilled vegetables for a little while, wondering how they were just so good. The staff was very polite, knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. They definitely make everyone feel welcome. We're definitely coming back if we're in Bend again in the near future.

pretty good asian fusion spot. they have so many different types of asian foods, from chinese dan…read moredan noodles, to korean fried chicken, to vietnamese like dishes. i think the experimental quality of the food warrants my four star rating. for instance, the lomo saltado had crisp potato sticks on top with roasted poatoes underneath in lieu of the traditional french fries. the dan dan noodles were good, kinda spicy and not as creamy as the traditional ones i've had back in the san gabriel valley in california. i would say - they're doing their own thing here as it's fusion, give it a fair try but understand that it's fusion. the vibe is very hipster here. feels like you're in los angeles silver lake but nah you're in a random little town in the middle of oregon lol. the pandan flan was good, but lacking in pandan flavor and wasn't even too green. i think it was too toned down and the vietnamese in me feels sad about that. :(

I'm not a huge northern Thai person. I love a great bowl of noodles the way they were meant to be and realistically that's cheap. A lot of people try to fancy up a lot of these dishes and elevate the ingredients and the presentation and the ambience but really and truly this isn't what I look for in good pad. Thai and pad kee mao. I just want it done right authentic as possible fresh ingredients and as big a portion as I can possibly find. I think they did a great job of all that here and I really didn't regret coming here instead of the other place that I'm sure you'll see around the corner. Not to disrespect other place. It look delicious and I'm sure we'll try it there again but for this trip, we were very happy with the noodle dishes. They have here great taste great color, very fresh and good portion.
