This was the best choice I ever made for dental work. English speaking, kind, top notch work. My teeth were gnarly from neglect/no income. They fit me in for three 2.5 hour appts to fix 8 teeth and extract 1 in the only 2 days I had!?! High quality organic sanitation products and resin to rebuild my teeth to look completely natural imported from Japan . Eileen is an absolute artist who loves fashioning broken destroyed teeth into looking whole and new. The polishing paste even has diamond dust in it! Dr. Hugo is a wonderful human being who was as gentle as possible considering I have unusual excess bone and extra roots to navigate. It was easily 1/4th of the price I would've paid in the United States . Approximately $50-$80 per tooth depending on the severity and extra steps needed. I was prepared to pay for whitening but just that diamond paste lightened my teeth up three shades for no extra cost. No matter who you go to , I'd recommend bringing sunglasses and headphones. They also didn't mind that I brought my own blanket. These three things help me with my anxiety, Comfort to tune out the bright light and noise. I'm going back for implants. I've been to other dentists in the US and Mexico but Baja dental is hands-down the best choice. They truly did give me my smile back. read more

His staff members were all amazing and Dr. M was a life saver! He worked a miracle and got me a new denture in time for me to make my return trip to the states. Dr Hugo Minjares is by far the best Dentist I have gone to. He is very flexible and works with your schedule (I was able to make apt after 4pm due to my work schedule). Dr Hugo Minjares and his Assistant are so friendly and welcoming. They truly care about their patients. I have had 2 visits here and they were both great. I got a crown and was very satisfied with the quality and the look of it. During the procedure, the dentist constantly checked on me to make sure I was doing good. He also made things as quick and painless as possible. I am not a fan of the dentist so a place that makes you feel comfortable is key and this is the place! I would highly recommend Dr Hugo Minjares! I also think the presentation of the office and the rooms are also important and those are also very nice and well-kept as well and very modern. I LOVE DOCTOR HUGO MINARES! I found him through yelp reviews and I'm hoping my review can help the next patient. I brought my daughter in for a crown and to switch out the metal for porcelain filings on a couple of her teeth. They wanted to charge me 3 times more in the States!! Her experience was great, we were in and out and she loved the fact that the doctor also spoke English. The second time I came was to fill some cavities for myself. In the States I was told I had 11 cavities!! Dr. Minares found only 4 cavities and again charged only a fracture of the cost. Today we have an appointment for my mom. She's been deathly afraid of the dentist but the last time she came in with me for my cavities, Dr. Minares put her at ease. His office is a small clean state of the art facility. The icing on the cake is Dr. Minares' assistant Naz. She is so sweet and personable. I never thought I'd say this about a dentist, but we can't wait to come back read more

Bear with me, this is a long one...First of all, let me explain that I have pretty significant dental anxiety. I hate going to the dentist. I have also had a lot of dental work and issues in my life. One such issue was a botched root canal done about 25yrs on a bottom molar (#19) that was never right and had been causing compounding issues ever since. I lived in Reno and just two years ago, dropped about $3000 into this tooth to "fix" the problems. This included painful gum surgery and then a new crown. Two years later, I am still having deep bone pain in the thing and after more consultations, I learn that this tooth isn't save-able and needs to be extracted. After talking with a lot of friends and family about their experiences having dental work done in Mexico, I decided to have the extraction and bone graft done while on vacation near Rosarito and selected Baja Dental based on proximity and good Yelp reviews. I was happy that making the appointment was pretty easy. I submitted a request online and got a call the next day from a friendly lady who spoke good English. I called the day before my appointment to remind them that I have dental anxiety and wanted something to calm me down prior to my appointment (drama queen, right?) and they gave me a prescription for Valium. Side note: I didn't actually fill the prescription, drank some wine instead, but appreciated their accommodating my request. Now to the appointment itself. The staff was very friendly and when I showed up there were three other Americans from LA and Long Beach in there so I got to chat with them and it helped my anxiety. They brought in another specialist/surgeon for my particular procedure and he and his assistant were very friendly and professional and the dentist spoke great English. This was not an easy extraction. I sat for two hours as a large, young, strong man tried to get this molar out and it was pretty gnarly. That being said, he numbed me up very very good and I felt little to no pain and he kept talking me through it, telling me I was doing great and that this was a tough one, etc... He finished after two hours then the bone graft was pretty quick after that. Two and a half hours later, I was exhausted and ready to go home. $528. Probably half of the cost at home, maybe more. He gave me three prescriptions: two for pain and inflammation and one antibiotic. He said I would probably be in pain for about two weeks due to the complexity of the extraction and that there may be significant swelling. I picked up my prescription at a nearby pharmacy (what a great experience-was in and out in less than 5min and it was $28 for all three). So here I am now 12 days afterwards and he was right. I did have some swelling (not too terrible), I have had quite a bit of pain which I really noticed after running out of the stuff he gave me), but I am over the hump now and feeling really good about it. Now I need to plan another vacation for 6-8 mos to go back for an implant! UPDATE: moved to 2 startNot impressed with follow up. I have emailed them asking for a copy of my records and asking to speak to the surgeon because I was still having pain and swelling after 4 weeks and didn't even get a response. UPDATE #2: October 2020. My local dentist in CA said the extraction and bone graft done in Mexico were a "Grand Slam"! read more

I visited Dr. Minares for a cleaning and to have a few cavities filled. Originally I was very happy with my service because of the cost savings compared to the USA. After several months, my teeth begin hurting really bad. Therefore, I went my dentist in San Diego for a checkup and was told that most of my fillings performed at Baja Dental had come out become they used substandard material for my fillings. It was also determined during my checkup that I needed two ROOT CANALS because the lost fillings caused further deterioration to my teeth. I trusted Baja Dental, and it was a costly mistake! Baja Dental is one of the best Dental places in Tijuana and Rosarito. Dr. Hugo is very knowledgeable and knows what he is doing. He is super professional and his office is very clean. I drove with my family from San Francisco to Rosarito for a small vacation and Dental check up. My mom got a deep cleaning and root canal and I got a crown. His office is clean and they staff is all professional. The bonus is the office is just at the beach so at the end of the day you can go to the beach for a walk. Thank you Dr. Hugo! read more
