Beware of this company! I called them for a quote on custom wrought iron gates from an ad in home concepts magazine. Mauricio came out and gave me an on site instant estimate & then an hour later called to reduce the price by $1000 which I thought was too good to be true, turns out it probably is. from then on things went from bad to worse. Super high pressure! Warning they wanted 50% of the project upfront Number two flag Mauricio called me / texted at least twice a day for three days after signing the contract for payment. I had called another company for an estimate and they were surprised to hear. Baja Doors was still in business. At that point all red flags were waving wildly and I decided to cancel my contract, especially when they asked me to put my check in the mail and then changed their mind and said they were showing up in person with about two hours notice. I was shown various styles and types of Custom Doors and for some weird reason, in my neighborhood, everyone seems to gravitate towards the same old trusted and comfortable style of cookie cutter doors? I wanted something totally different from the rest, I do NOT follow the masses or go with the flow! I wanted something that is unique and CUSTOM! Baja Doors made that happen for me! Mauricio was my salesperson, he took the time to listen, provide both suggestion and direction and insight! I went with a Moroccan themed door, which is unique unto itself, no one in my kneck of the woods has it, and everyone who comes to my house comments on it. Before, my original doors kept the foyer dark and uninviting but, now it's like the outside, coming in! I love light! not depression and darkness! Also, I had a minor issue whereby I tried o get a dryer into the house, and one side of the door would not open up, as it was stuck! I made the call to arrange for a repair of the affected side, and not only was it repaired, extra items such as touch-up painting occured as well! That's called (GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!) We have loved our doors that were installed 5 years ago. Over the last year, both of the door catches on our double doors have shot out of their casings. This has rendered the doors nearly unusable. These are unique metal doors and while we understand they are out of warranty, we feel Baja Doors should be willing to service their unique product at reasonable prices. We have referred 3 people to Baja Doors and still maintain we love their product, but I would not purchase them again because we cannot get service, very disappointing. read more

This company installed our wrought iron gates. Found them in a home repair flyer. When they installed the gates they took out my entire sprinkler system (cut the wires while digging a post hole). No one reported they had done this and it took over 5 weeks to get them to actually show up at the house to repair it. BTW, they stood me up 3-4 times when they said they were coming out to fix it. Next issue was rust on the gates, it seems that when they installed the gates they did not seal certain areas properly. They finally corrected this. Now I have rust around the locks (screws that hold the locks in place) plus one of the locks is extremely hard to unlock. It will probably take weeks to get them out here to repair. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using homeadvisor.com if you are going to do any type of home remodel. For the gates we did not and look what we got, shoddy follow-up. For electrical & flooring we did and it is great. Bottom line, we are never buying from Baja Doors again. read more

We found these guys at a home show in Del Mar. We were impressed by the look of their doors. We requested a consultation and quote. Jaime came out and explained the process and let us know that it would take 6 weeks from order to install. This was a concern for us at the time because we had a large family gathering right around that time. Jaime worked with us and talked to his boss, and they promised to have the door installed the Wednesday before the party. They delivered on time and the door is even more beautiful than we imagined! There was a slight issue with the removable screen that we noticed after the install. They came out and told us it would be about 3 weeks to make the new one. This time they were not on time, but early. There has not been a single person that has not complimented on our door's look. Those who have opened the door have been impressed by the weight (which feels more secure). We paid $3500 for our front door. It seemed like a lot until we compared to a door from Lowe's. Our front door is 8+ feet tall. So a custom size door from Lowe's would have actually cost about the same. We got a higher quality door and excellent customer service. We loved the doors and asked the owners where they got them and if they were happy with them and the company, they were ecstatic. So we called Baja doors and made an appointment. They came to our home and worked with us to incorporate our ideas of a "Mission Style" door. They were able to match the design we wanted exactly. Due to the upcoming holidays, they were very honest in letting us know it would take an extra few weeks for the manufacturing and delivery, and they were good to their word. We had our doors installed and they exceeded our expectations. Later we discovered a small problem with the sill and they returned within a week to fix it and did a great job. The quality, design and customer service couldn't have been better. We not only got beautiful doors but fabulous function as well.
