My experience with this company has been great. My first project was a 8' x 10' powder-coated steel gate. The details were very important to me as I needed the gate to keep my small dog in, and needed to maximize every available inch of space to maximize access to my back yard - I also didn't want it mounted to my home. Build Gates and Garage Doors did great work, listening to every detail and making sure the gate was exactly what I wanted. My experience was so good, that a year later I hired them to build an access/privacy gate on the other side of my home. I was searching through local San Diego contractors on yelp to find a few to come and look at my garage to see if I needed to replace my whole motor system. My garage door wasn't closing consistently needed anywhere between 5-8 times clicking the garage button to close - very annoying and inconvenient when you're in a rush to go somewhere. I came across Ronni's information through a separate company and found that he actually is part of this one. I could NOT recommend Ronni enough! He was my 3rd contractor that came to my garage and was very honest, took the time to educate me on the main parts of my garage, how to maintain it myself and showed me the products I could get. I really do believe it makes a difference when a specialist takes the time to empower their clients to understand how to care for their own home. My first two contractors gave me exorbitant prices. While the first did educate me on the problem the same as Ronni, the ultimate price that Ronni provided was far less and fair. The second contractor I had didn't even bother to educate me and just jumped to conclusions that the system is broken and I need to replace it. The second contractor even tried to use pressure tactics to get me to choose him over a "small family contracting business". This being all said, Ronni instantly made me feel comfortable, was very patient to answer all of my questions, allowed me to take notes along the way. Ronni was very professional and very knowledgeable! When he checked up on the garage door opener, he knew right away what's the problem. He did not recommend to change the whole machine but instead, he checked all the parts and diagnosed the problem and recommended to have the bad parts replaced which made the garage door opener work. I contacted Ronny in April of 2024. He came and saw my gate project and recommended a stronger Liftmaster gate opener that I had planned to install due to uphill gate railing that I had. I'm a developer and have found this company from a friend that worked with them. They helped me build a custom Iron and aluminum front yard sliding gate, with fencing and another two pedestrian gates. Their prices were very fair and in the market range. I must say the customer service was outstanding! Ronnie is the man! He was very communicative and updated me through the whole project on each process. The paint on our front gate was chipping and wearing away. I called Build gates and garage doors and Sheriah answered the phone. She was so friendly and put me in touch with Lorenzo. I sent Lorenzo some photos of our gate and he stopped by to take a look and quickly sent me a quote with a couple of options -one quote for paint and another for powder coating. We talked on the phone and he explained why he recommended powder coating. I placed a small deposit and he came to our home to remove the gate and he helped us pick out a color.
