Food is great , but the service is not good!!!!Everything is rushed so you are not relaxed !

I've heard nothing but good things about Muse, it truly is a hole in the wall spot. We came by early Friday evening and the Yelp waitlist said it was about a 50 min wait but they worked through the line pretty quickly and got us seated in much less. Service was extremely attentive and friendly, they constantly checked on us, refilled drinks, and asked if we were still hungry. Excellent service. For the food, we were very fortunate and opted for the omakase course. Easily recommended! 2 pieces each of bluefin tuna, yellowtail carpaccio, red snapper, wild mackerel, scallops, oysters, and the chef also curated an assorted sushi roll for us consisting of a spicy tuna, crab, bluefin, shrimp, and each topped with yellowtail. 5 people, 5 beers, and 1 hot sake came out to less than $500. I hate to say it because I'd rather keep the lines short, but given it's south OC.. I have to recommend Muse as a must try. read more

The OMG! Sushi place! Muse Sushi is one of our favorite local sushi spots--and for good reason. The food is exceptionally high quality, the prices are very fair, and the staff is ridiculously friendly. The spicy miso soup is a must, as is the spicy edamame. They have some great specialty rolls, including one with baked salmon that is fantastic. And their sashimi salmon? Best I've ever had. Seriously. There's also a great neighborhood vibe here. People are constantly walking in, the staff seems to know the regulars, and during dinner there's almost always a line. Apparently, we're not the only ones who figured out how good this place is. Now, there is one little Muse Sushi mystery: the Yelp waiting list. They have an online waiting list, which is great--except they turn it off sometimes. If it's slow, they don't need it. And if it gets REALLY busy, they apparently turn it off because the wait is so long they need to make sure they can actually close sometime this century. The problem is, when it's turned off, you have absolutely no idea what you're walking into. Is it a 15-minute wait? An hour? An hour and a half? Nobody knows! So my one humble request to the Muse Sushi crew: leave the waiting list on all the time. Even if it says "90-minute wait," at least we know what we're getting into and can decide whether the sushi is worth the wait--which, frankly, it probably is. We stopped by in a bit of a rush to grab dinner and were told there was already a wait for both indoor seating and the bar. Since we only had about 25 minutes, we decided to order takeout and eat at the outdoor tables instead. After we placed our order, Cat went above and beyond by letting us know that seats had just opened up at the bar and graciously accommodated us inside. That level of customer service was truly appreciated and made our experience even better. Obi took our takeout order and was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the process. Our favorite local sushi place! It's always busy, so if you plan on going highly recommended to make a reservation. We love that you can custom all the rolls. Most of the time we'll do rice less rolls and they add extra crab for an up charge. They have so many different rolls to choose from and the sushi always tastes fresh. Sushi is always a good idea, and I loved my time here at Muse! Plan ahead- the wait was long on a Saturday night, but so worth it. The space and set up of the restaurant feels very communal and lively, the service is great too. We sat at the bar area so the sushi chef personally took our orders and handed us everything, felt more intimate and special. Tried the ocean zest and oaks flavor rolls- both were very yummy but I liked the oaks flavor more. It uses real crab which felt gourmet compared to your usual imitation crab. It had a good amount of tobiko on top and the sushi rice was just perfect. The ocean zest roll was unique to say the least- I'm not sure if lemon slices and cilantro on my sushi is something I would reorder, but I'm glad I tried and the fish inside was great! We also tried the unagi nigiri and the eel slice was nice and fat and flavorful, can't go wrong with this one. I'm never usually in this part of Orange County, but I would definitely make the trip again to revisit Muse and try more of their menu. Maybe I'd go earlier in the day to avoid the wait though. read more

I'm giving five stars to Use Sushi in Laguna Niguel! I had seen the great reviews and couldn't wait to try it, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The restaurant was packed, which is always a great sign for a sushi spot. The prices were very reasonable, and the sushi was truly top-notch. We ordered the Ocean Crunch roll, which was incredible, and the spicy tuna was excellent as well. Honestly, we enjoyed everything we tried. Great selection of rolls from traditional to eclectic, vegetarian to rare seafood. I have never experienced such a fast turnaround time for getting quality sushi between the minute that we ordered to 10 minutes when the first three rolls that we ordered were at our table. The ambiance was also a standout with the high ceilings and kitchen in the corner and although it was very busy and crowded, it never felt too loud to think. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars was the over eagerness of the staff to get us to leave even though there were multiple tables open that those waiting could've been seated at. We weren't even given the option to consider dessert - however having been in restaurant business I respect the move as you also want to give servers a break as well. read more

OMG!! New favorite sushi restaurant!!! I literally never want to go anywhere else! I had the halibut sushi with yuzu, blue fin sushi with fresh wasabi, and tai sushi with yuzu and green onions (red snapper flown in from Japan). This restaurant blows everyone else out of the water. It's SO FRESH and the flavors are amazing!!! I'm extremely picky when it comes to sushi, so when my husband said once I go here I'll never want to go anywhere else, I didn't believe him. After trying for myself, I never want to go anywhere else! My previous go-to spots were Bluefin in Newport Coast and Sugar Fish in CdM. I'm literally writing this review while sitting at the sushi bar because it's THAT GOOD! Good prices too, but most important is the quality of the sushi! Stumbled upon Muse Sushi House after a trip to Nordstrom rack! Not usually in this area but we saw it across the plaza and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was packed and lively but that did not stop the team from greeting each group that came in or checking on each table regularly. We sat at the sushi bar and had a great experience. Even though we were in the corner, the sushi chef and wait staff were always there to help, refill, or take additional orders. We ordered a chirashi bowl, kicker roll, unagi hand roll, ocean zest roll, fresh wasabi and some beer. The fish was so fresh and tasty! The rolls were a great size and had the perfect fish to rice ratio. Was overwhelmed by the amount of options, which is a good problem to have but now I have to come back to try more! Hoping to try out their unagi bowl and lunch special next time. There is plenty of parking in the plaza and you can join the waitlist from Yelp. The food here is so good and fresh! Sometimes it's so busy the wait time is one hour but that's not their fault. The workers are very friendly and quick to get your food. (They are mainly Thai!) The parking can get tricky on Friday and weekends. I prefer to go on a random Tuesday or Thursday. Just came back for dinner tonight, 3 weeks later, and wanted to update the review. It was a long wait (30+ mins) but it was worth it at the end. We had a great dinner. We both ordered the same thing again, the salmon teriyaki bowl. Delicious! Very simple bowl with just rice, cucumber, tomato slices, and a nice piece of salmon. They do not serve it with any other items like most places but it was simply delicious. Updated to 5-star from 4-star last visit. ********************** We were going to pick up some Mexican food next door for dinner but they were closed and the door is locked right at 6:00 pm when we arrived. We decided to try Muse Sushi instead. My husband doesn't eat sushi or raw fish of any kind so we hardly ever go to sushi restaurants . The place was totally full for a Sunday evening. People were even sitting on a bench inside waiting and standing outside. We thought, hmm this is a good sign. We both had the same thing, the chicken teriyaki bowl, and some rolls. Yeah, boring, I know. . . But we would rather be safe. The chicken bowls were good, and it was nice that they use white meat instead of dark meat. The tempura rolls however was just okay. Hardly any tempura and mostly avocado. Service was good. We had Apple as our server and she was great. Attentive and pleasant. The other employees were also polite. Absolutely fantastic sushi spot! This has quickly become our go-to take-out spot for sushi. The fish is always super fresh and flavorful, and they have an extensive selection of vegetarian options which makes my vegetarian wife happy. She loves the Mango Green roll and I have to say, it's one of my favorites too. Other standouts include Ocean Zest, Dick n' Diane Favorite, and Bloody Tuna. The employees are always so nice and welcoming when I come to pick up the order and I think they're even starting to remember me which is great! Best sushi in OC!!!! So I'm a foodie if it's not obvious so I was walking outside and ran into my neighbor one day and he told me this was the best spot ever for sushi so I decided to try it! There is this roll called the Mellow Yellow Roll that is the MOST DELICIOUS sushi roll I have ever had in my entire life. Every single bite is amazing. The most perfect balance. I crave this roll and could eat it maybe 5 times a week and still want one more. The only sad thing is, it is a very expensive roll at $17 so I couldn't eat it that many times.... But anyways I've always had it to go and it's been fresh and great each time. Called it in, took 15 minutes, took it to go, drove home still great. So it was nice that it wasn't freakier quick but still a great fast process to get a roll. People there were very friendly. Ambiance is not something you come here for. You come here for the sushi. Walked in with my son and asked for a table for 4. We were waiting for my wife and younger son to arrive. They told us we had to wait for our entire party to show up. The restaurant was empty as it was 4:30 pm and before the dinner rush. They even have a sign stating your entire party needs to be present to sit at a table. After 4 minutes of waiting, another family came in and they said "table for 7". They had 5 people with them and even told the same host they were waiting for 2 more to show up. Hostess happily sat them at a table while my son and I still waited. The hostess made eye contact with me and quickly looked away as I was staring at her the whole time in disbelief. Unassuming sushi spot nestled in the hills of Laguna Niguel. The restaurant itself is modern and sleek. Came around 5:30pm on a Friday and it was packed. While we were waiting for a table, one of the waitresses kindly asked if we wanted anything to drink while waiting. I thought that gesture was so sweet and the epitome of superb service. For food we shared the spicy garlic edamame and spicy tuna crispy rice- both fantastic. I got the burn your tongue roll and yellowtail maki and enjoyed both of them. The burn your tongue has the delicious spicy tuna mix with avocado and a spicy sauce on top. Now, I've never done any hard stuff... but I've dabbled with Lucy in the Sky. Let me tell you: I couldn't tell you the difference between a bite of this roll and the Lucy on the 5th hour. I was at the edge of the universe... my god... it's full of stars. I met the cosmic mother, she spoke in a different language but I could understand everything...she told me ancient wisdoms. It was like when Raven from the Disney Channel cult classic TV show "That's So Raven!" when she has a premonition and they do that edit where it zooms out of her eye. I was dancing.... Moving....
