First and last time being here. Just finished at the lake and remembered we had a gift card for here... Nobody was in here when we arrived... Floors are disgusting, tables are disgusting, the bathroom actually made me gag it was SO GROSS. It's chained onto the gas station next door.... I'm only giving 2 stars because they gave us chips. The guy was hard to understand, and I don't like that he could've added the chips to our order and we wouldn't know. We just told him what we wanted, ended up with two drinks when I asked him to read it back, and we clearly said 1 large soda. I feel we were overpriced/overcharged, but never coming here again, so it's alright. It's an adventure. UPDATE: I just ate the chips. They're stale. Not worth it. Omg. I feel like I just ate cardboard. I wish I could give 0 stars.

Not worth spending $20 at this Baja fresh ended up throwing my food away.

Horrible experience at Baja fresh this place should not be open the gentleman at the cash register was taking orders cooking without taking off his gloves or washing his hands he was the only one in the kitchen and at the register. Ordered a Steak Dos Manos Burrito The steak was tasteless the rice was old the beans were rotten. I threw my food away. I'm surprised nobody's had food poisoning from this location.Has to be a franchise location. I should have ran and ask for my money back when I saw him not washing his hands and taking orders and going back to cooking.

We were meeting a friend and they had gotten a table for us before we arrived, but it wasn't busy and there were plenty of tables available. We're glad we had a chance to try Cantina Pedregal before it changes into Nixtaco- although now having been to both you're going to have delicious food either way. The restaurant is beautiful and whoever did the interior design was so thoughtful with the furniture, colors and ambiance. It's very warm, welcoming and calming inside. A great date spot or place for a meeting. The lunch menu has a good variety of options, and is broken down into smaller bites/appetizers, salads, main plates, and then sides. It's a nice spot to share dishes so you can try more items and share the sides. We ended up getting the chips and salsa ($7) with an extra salsa ($4), Grilled Black Half Chicken ($23), and Fideo Seco ($14). Our friend got the Carne Asada Tacos ($24), Refried Beans ($12), and Red Rice ($10). The sides were shareable and needed, since the entrees came on their own. Our friend added some of the beans, rice and Fideo Seco on their tacos and our chicken did come with some tortillas to make our own tacos or eat on it's own. Everything was high quality and flavorful. The Fideo Seco was surprisingly my favorite item. It is vermicelli pasta with sofrito, chorizo and egg yolk and was very tasty. The chicken was good, but hard to eat without using your hands to get all the meat off the bones- the messy hands didn't seem to fit with the restaurant vibe but we loved the flavor and how tender the chicken was. The salsa was good and the chips were fresh, but it seemed like a lot to charge $4 for the ramekins of salsas. I would pass on chips and salsa next time. Overall it was a great vibe, high quality food and good service. Definitely more of a treat meal or great spot to impress a date or business client. For a regular chill meal it felt a bit expensive, but I think they're going for more upscale.

You walk in and the doors close individually but u do share the space and area to wash your hands with anyone that walks in . Not bad never really seen this before . Our waiter was amazing his name was Doug he explained the menu to us . It could be a lot but he helped us . Doug was very helpful and attentive. We ordered drinks my favorite one was called Sol Dorado . I wish they had more Gin drinks I had the only Gin drink called Brissa Del Mar but ,I was not a fan . For food we ordered the Caesar salad , sweet potato which was amazing. For our main dish we ordered the cazuela (Asado De Puerco ) which is pork stew it came with handmade corn tortillas . We made some delicious tacos out of it . I had to get dessert they all sounded so good! We got the Smoked Pumpkin Tres Leches delicious. Overall, it was a different experience the food is a bit different and I'm Mexican BTW but it's from a part in Mexico called Monterey every part in Mexico has their own way of cooking . The menu its self is different you order to share . It's a little on the pricier side but the portions were a good size for sharing . I feel like for the main entree there is not that many options on there wish to see more . Overall we had a great time . Great food and ambiance.

Start with the carnitas plate and you'll understand why. You're served a generous mountain of perfectly crisp-edged, juicy meat that hits every note of texture and flavor. The Al Pastor Super Nachos are another absolute standout, loaded and full of bold, savory goodness. The tacos across the board are excellent, especially the al pastor, carnitas, and lengua--each one delivers. Add Modelo on tap and a fantastic salsa bar, and the whole experience becomes legitimately incredible. Last time we were there I thought I was able to get just plain tortillas from the tortillas lady spot. But she looked confused then I asked for a few flour tortillas. She asked what meat I wanted to make street tacos. That's fine the pork tasted very good. But I like plain tortillas with the eggs and other dishes. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I guess next time we will ask the server. We started with the omelets this time. Very good and well made. We tried many things, hard to take pictures. It was very busy and carrying a plate didn't work well when taking pictures.

The portions have been cut in 1/2 for a lot of menu items here over the last 5 years namely the chimichangas but seems like everything else too. The chimichangas used to be twice the size they are now and were loaded with cheese. Now they have no cheese and 1/2 the filling so there mostly flour tortilla now. Very disappointing and the plates they use now are smaller, they used to serve the food on these huge platters. Anyway went there last night (1st time in 3 years) and this is the plate I got. The 2 chimichangas are now the same size as the tamale on the other side of the plate. The service was terrible too. We did not get our food until almost an hour and by the time the food showed up we were full from the chips and bean dip and salsa wich by the way we had to wave them down several times as we seemed invisible to refill the chips and our drinks. We wont be going back again for probably another 3 years. I highly recommend Felipe's in Citrus heights on Auburn blvd. Way better value and the food quality is on par with el tapatio but with five star service!
