I ordered a streak burrito the day my purse got stolen. My new atm card wouldn't work, I was almost in tears, and the manager GAVE it to me. With a wink told me I could pay him tomorrow. Terrible service. Mediocre food. Went here with my family. The woman at the register spent much too long trying to find our food in her system. She looked at me like I was crazy when I ordered a fish burrito and she tried to correct me by telling me I wanted a fish taco. She also mumbled and was hard to understand when she read back our order (which she placed wrong). Then top things off, she must've placed our orders wrong because everyone at my tables for the wrong food. My burrito was the wrong style (I wanted Mexicano and I got Baja style), my father had the same problem. My sister somehow got a steak fajita instead of a shrimp taco (wtf?). Then when my sister came back from changing her food at the counter, the register girl glared at her like she was threat. It was awkward to say the least. Food is good but absolutely overpriced. This place continues to make some of the best quality Mexican food around. It's very clean, as are the bathrooms and their staff/service is top notch. I have seen the manager take personal pride in the operation, including giving a free meal to a woman who had lost her money. Once, when my order was forgotten amidst my colleagues' food, I was given a complimentary gift certificate without even asking. I go here for work and eat out nights. I love Baja Fresh! This location can get rather busy, so the wait be a bit longer than normal. Cheese quesadillas are to die for, unlike what Erin H. said. Baja Fresh is how I remembered...almost. Nice bright spotless dining room, friendly staff, well stocked salsa bar. This in a nutshell is how you qualify for 3 stars...BUT I'm here for fish tacos. I forgave BF a long time ago for the Wahoo gimic but now you are served fish tacos with what looks like a deep fried shoestring lying on top of the taco. WHERE DID THE FISH GO? I give three stars because the staff was friendly and service was exceptional. Unfortunately the food wasn't anything to write home about. Last night my boyfriend and I chose to check out Baja Fresh instead of Chipotle (a weekend staple in our house!), maybe I'm biased, but if you like Chipotle just go there! We were told by friends that if we liked chipotle we would love Baja Fresh - I fear they were mistaken. I have never been into Baja fresh till I went recently. I had eaten baja fresh before though. I was amazed how good tasting it was. I have been to this place probably 30 times with my mom, it's kind of a tradition when I visit and we go to the movies that we have lunch here either before or after and it's basically like any other Baja fresh but the reason why I rated so high is because of the owner who is just the nicest guy you'll ever meet who always comes out and greets all his customers one by one with a big smile and he just care so much about his business and his employees and his customers and it is apparent in his attitude, it just brightens my day. read more

Wahoo Baja Bowl. One of my favorite items at Baja Fresh is their Baja Bowl as it provides a good, healthy mix of beans, rice, vegetables and meat. On my latest visit I selected the "Wahoo (ono)" as my meat, a delicate white fish that is popular in Hawaii. The flavor is wonderful - mild with a great texture. I enjoy Baja's salsa bar and i added jalapeno slices and a hot salsa to give the bowl and added kick. If you want traditional authentic Mexican, this isn't for you - I urge you to visit one of the many taquerias along Lancaster Drive. But for fast Americanized "Tex Mex" type food, there are some good choices at Baja. read more

So disappointed lately. My husband and I along with my adult kids have went to this Baja Fresh on Lancaster for years. The last 6 months I don't know what is going on there. Before the pandemic, we went there and it has started to look so dirty and the staff was not friendly. Since the pandemic we have got food ordered twice. The first time, part of our food was forgotten. The employees seem so stressed and unorganized. Today I went to pick up food I ordered on the phone. I was first hung up on, then called back. It was not clear where people were supposed to pick up food or if they were supposed to wait in line with the walk in customers that were ordering. I stood in line over 30 minutes while my food sat on the counter for almost all of that time. The lady at the counter was rude and would step away from the cash register,not washing her hands, bag up orders while a large line was waiting. I am not sure if my family will return due to the last 3 times it has been so disappointing. Hopefully, they will listen to the reviews on here and make positive changes. read more

I wish I could give this location more then just 5 stars. I'm not a local so I only get to come in about once a month to eat but every single time is just amazing! The salsa is so good I could almost drink it, my order is not on the menu but they get it right ever time. What I want to point out most though is not only the great staff in the back and the friendly cashier but there is a man who's been there everytime I've been in. I think he's the manger as he's always in a nice dress shirt and tie. He's so incredibly nice and caring about everyone and everything going on in there. I love this place. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast. I feel good about what I'm eating when I go here. The atmosphere is very casual which is fine with me. I think the staff is great. I usually order the taco plates or ensalada salads. My favorite salad is the steak ensalada salad with the cilantro ranch dressing. read more

We've been disappointed by the Baja Fresh restaurants in the SF Bay Area, but this one reminded us of why we liked the chain in the first place. Food was fresh, well made, the place was clean. And most important of all, they had put back in a real brewed iced tea machine in addition to the pathetic fake iced tea dispenser that's really a fountain giving you syrup.
