Baja is a local Tex Mex restaurant with many regulars from Grapevine and Southlake area! They are best known for their margaritas, or "bajaritas" and I'm not kidding when I say every single person at the restaurant was drinking a bajarita. It's decorated cute and has Mexican and coastal vibe. And the bar was lively with lots of people who came by themselves to enjoy a bajarita good decent food! (4/5) Strawberry Frozen La Original Bajarita It comes as a regular frozen margarita with strawberry syrup that you have to stir yourself but if was pretty good! Not too strong and not too weak. (4/5) Tex-Mex Trio Enchiladas Soft cheese taco, sour cream chicken enchilada, chili beef enchilada, and Mexican rice & refried beans. The rice was fluffy too and everything was solid. (3.5/5) Chicken Semi-Famous Fajitas I liked that there were more variety of veggies than in a typical fajita. The chicken could've had more flavor!

We sat at the bar and only had about 45 minutes to eat. We ordered margs which came out quickly and ordered our meal. It was at the table in less than 15 minutes. I had the side chicken salad and cup of tortilla soup. Both were amazing and I would order again. The bartender was attentive, made amazing drinks and was very friendly and helpful! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

During our mini college gals reunion in DFW area over Memorial Weekend, we went to this restaurant to try some of the best Tex Mex in Grapevine! I had the Chicken Enchiladas Suizas and it was so fresh! Loved that they added so many fresh veggies to the dish. They were pretty busy that eve and they accidentally brought me a skinny mezcal margarita w/o the mezcal but they quickly fixed it. I forgot my reunion t-shirt in Austin (doh!) and just for grins I bought their $25 black t-shirt that said "I need a HUGe margarita" which was really cute.

Another great meal in Grapevine! I came here to try the place out. This is on my long list of places I have passed by many times, but never tried. Today I changed that! Upon entering the place is pretty typical of a Tex Mex place. Simple in decor, many beer related decor items. My waitperson, Patricio, was great and attentive. Definitely a repeater!

Wonderful food, service, and drinks! Would recommend this place to anyone in the area! Happy hour is 3-6 and they've got a nice little sports bar area. Get the melon margarita!

The food came out quickly and the drinks came out strong. The space was fun and the the staff were very friendly. Female bathroom was clean. I enjoyed a chicken chimichanga and a frozen strawberry margarita.

Omg!!! The drinks here is bomb!!! I had the midori margarita and it was not overly sweet and you can't tell that it's strong. After I finished the drink, it hit me!!!! We had the beef fajita to share and it was great and enough portion for two! I asked our waiter for some spicy salsa and he brought out this creamy green sauce. Omg! It was soooo tasty and spicy! I love it!!! Def want to come here more !

This was my first time eating here, but I came with people who have eaten here before the new ownership so you can take my review with a grain of salt. I thought the food was good. It wasn't anything crazy but it definitely wasn't bad. The people I came with who have eaten here before were very disappointed. I think the new ownership has affected a lot of the little things that people get nostalgic about with restaurants like decor, margaritas being unmixed now, different chips, no more cilantro lime rice, etc. They were all a little underwhelmed with their food, namely the fajita chicken which they thought was a little under seasoned but overall, i felt the service was fine and the food was decent. All of the above things can be improved upon with time.

This place doesn't look like much, but it's definitely worth a stop. In all fairness, I was running a half marathon the next day, so I purposely had to select some blander food and didn't do much of the chips and queso. That said, their salsa is delicious and has some heat to it, which I would've appreciated more had I not been running the next day. The queso with chorizo was also decent. I ended up doing the lettuce wrap tacos, which were fine. The rice and beans were nice. The chicken was definitely the highlight: I was surprised at how flavorful and tender it was! They also looked like they had an impressive margarita selection, which I'd like to try next time. The staff were all pleasant and attentive. Plenty of parking outside. The restaurant is a lot bigger on the inside than it appears, so we had no trouble finding a table. There's also a small bar area. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by this find and would love to come back, especially for their salsa and to try a margarita (or two)!

I really enjoyed the surf and turf tacos. The steak and shrimp tasted delicious with the avocado in the taco. The rice and beans that came with it weren't very good. In the future I'd substitute regular beans and Spanish rice for the sides. The mango margarita was delicious and a great size!

We decided to try Baja Mex as it was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. The service was great, and the food was even better. Started off with chips and salsa and a tasty margarita. For the entree, I had Carnitas Michoacan. It had plenty of pork, and was very good. I would definitely come back next time we're in town.

I arrived during the lunch rush, and both the parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were immediately greeted by a courteous and polite young man who quickly escorted us to a booth. We were seated in Ms. Maria's section, and she was a wonderful server. She greeted us with a warm smile, brought us menus along with the lunch menu, chips and salsa, and promptly served our water. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again. This was my first visit to Mi Dia From Scratch, and I came away very impressed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant also offers a nice outdoor seating area. Between the excellent service and flavorful food, I will definitely be back. I hope you'll give it a try too!

I grew up eating school lunch in a state ranked 47th in the U.S. for food quality and taste, and after eating here, I genuinely miss my school lunches. I would rather eat cafeteria food any day. This was literally the worst food experience I have ever had. I can almost guarantee the reviews are fake. Salsa: Literally packaged tomato paste. If you are going to serve packaged salsa, at least use store-bought instead of warmed-up tomato sauce. Chicken Enchiladas Verdes: Rated one of their most popular items, and it was disgusting. If that chicken were any drier, you could weave it into polyester. It was overcooked, packaged meat. Brisket Quesadillas: Absolutely revolting. I have no other comment to make, as I am currently trying not to throw up. As someone who has lived as an expat in 47 different countries and is an elite food reviewer officially recognized by multiple platforms, let me do you a favor and tell you to please avoid this place if you actually want to eat. Mesa's is just a few minutes drive from Gaylord so it is super convenient. The ambience is pleasant and open and in general it was fine. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seats and parking outside. I did not get a "homey" feel but that may be just me. Our server was attentive and efficient. No problems or complaints. The free chips and salsa were good but not outstanding. The salsa was warm and obviously homemade, but it lacked kick. It was tasty but not "OMG this is good." I started with a cup of Roberto's queso which is the standard queso cheese with some ground beef, pico, and a tablespoon of guacamole. It too was good but not outstanding. I am not sure what it was missing but there was something that was needed. I had the two beef tacos and they were just average. Not much flavor or anything distinctive. The ground beef was not well seasoned so they were kind of bland. The rice and black beans were also kind of bland. Frankly, my tacos at home are better. The wife had the taco salad and liked it, although it did not come with any dressing. She used the salsa. Not sure if that was an oversight or that is the way the salad is served. She was also happy that they serve Negro Modelo on tap, so she was happy. The kid had nachos with black beans and cheese and did not complain. Such was the case recently when we paid a visit to Mesa. The first order of business was getting an appetizer to go with the chips and salsa. Upon the server's recommendation we got the queso Blanco. It was quite possibly the blandest queso I have ever eaten. At this point I started to worry that it was a sign of things to come. However, the extra spicy salsa that we also requested to go with the chips was more flavorful and gave me hope for the entrees. The good news is that my chicken and cheese enchiladas turned out to be better than the insipid appetizer. The not so good news is that it was still a mediocre meal. The rest of my family had mixed feelings about their food. My husband, who got 2 beef enchiladas, said his were overly salty but otherwise average. The bacon wrapped shrimp that my mother got were a little overcooked but she liked the sides. Both of my sons' entrees, the Mesa burrito and the chicken strips, were very well received. People like to say that even when pizza is bad it's still good. For me, that also applies to Tex-Mex. But, considering the plethora options out there, I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.
