I arrived during the lunch rush, and both the parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were immediately greeted by a courteous and polite young man who quickly escorted us to a booth. We were seated in Ms. Maria's section, and she was a wonderful server. She greeted us with a warm smile, brought us menus along with the lunch menu, chips and salsa, and promptly served our water. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again. This was my first visit to Mi Dia From Scratch, and I came away very impressed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant also offers a nice outdoor seating area. Between the excellent service and flavorful food, I will definitely be back. I hope you'll give it a try too!

As someone who has lived as an expat in 47 different countries and is an elite food reviewer officially recognized by multiple platforms, let me do you a favor and tell you to please avoid this place if you actually want to eat. The rest of my family had mixed feelings about their food. My husband, who got 2 beef enchiladas, said his were overly salty but otherwise average. The bacon wrapped shrimp that my mother got were a little overcooked but she liked the sides. Both of my sons' entrees, the Mesa burrito and the chicken strips, were very well received. People like to say that even when pizza is bad it's still good. For me, that also applies to Tex-Mex. But, considering the plethora options out there, I doubt I will be returning anytime soon.

Thirteen members of our motorcycle group went here tonight and we will not be going back! The evening started just fine when we got there and our table was set up and waiting for us, but that's when things started going downhill. Our server took our drink orders, brought the drinks out, and then disappeared for a while. After about thirty minutes the manager and another guy were busing the tables next to us and we told him we would like to order our food. He told us to hang on a minute and he would get our server. He continued to bus the tables, and then eventually left to find our server. Our server returned and took our orders, and things were still going okay... until the food came out. The food didn't all come out at once, a few plates came out, then about 5 - 10 minutes later some more came out, and then eventually all of the rest of them but one came out. One of our friends plate didn't come out, and we finally got our server's attention to let him know, and then went off to the kitchen to get the final plate. That wasn't the biggest problem. Out of thirteen orders, nine of them were either lukewarm or outright cold. My wife told our server her's was cold and he took the plate back to the kitchen. She had chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. A few minutes later he brought her back the same plate of food, with the fork in the exact position it was when he took it. The plate was slightly warmer, but the food was still cold. She got his attention again, and again he took the plate back to the kitchen. This time he returned with a fresh plate, and while the enchiladas were warm, the rice and beans were still cold. One of our friends tried sending her plate back, but also got it back with the plate slightly warmer, but the food was still cold. The manager knew about the problems, but never came to talk to us, and the server never offered any apologies or offered to make it right. One of our group had been a regular at the restaurant for a number of years, so he went and asked the manger to go outside so he could talk to him. He chewed the manager out and told him about the problems, that he was a regular, and that he would never be coming back. The manager told him that he didn't know what the problem was because the food was hot when it left the kitchen. He told our friend that he would give us a discount, but it never showed up on any of our tickets, so we paid full price for bad service and worse food. I would not recommend this restaurant if you want good food or good service, go next door to Taco Bell, you'll probably get better food and service for a lot less money. read more

We wanted to switch things up for Cinco De Mayo, so we ventured to a new spot in the area. Upon arriving, we headed straight to the bar and were warmly greeted by the bartender. I opted for the off-menu Pineapple Spicy Margarita, which turned out to be more sweet than spicy, while my partner went for the Top Shelf Margarita. Unfortunately, my drink was pre-made, which was a bit disappointing. Next time, I'll also go for the Top Shelf Margarita. My partner always has a knack for picking the best items from the menu. We were torn between Chicken Enchiladas or Carne Asada but ultimately chose the enchiladas. And boy, were we impressed! They were hands down some of the best enchiladas we've ever had, perfectly seasoned to perfection. At first, I was a bit apprehensive when my plate arrived, as it didn't resemble the typical enchiladas with all the extra toppings. But let me tell you, it was a delightful surprise. The veggies--zucchini, squash, Brussels sprouts, and tri-colored peppers--were cooked to perfection, offering a delightful blend of softness and freshness. Ok, so we are from out of town, and eating Mexican with a strong background in San Antonio mexican. What got me interested was all the pics of the drinks. I had their "original" and it was top flavor, and ordered a second. Everyone in the place was drinking the same thing, so clearly they liked them as well. (The liquor content of this almost $10 drink is below average) The food was also rated well with a 4star at time of this posting. My guess is that this is what good mexican taste like in Grapevine and why yelp is not always on the money if people are going here for the atmosphere and drinks vs. eating. We had the fajitas for 2 (steak) and others had the nachos with same steak. Unfortunately the steak was a bust, it was rubbery like it had been boiled for a short time and sent out. You could not tear a piece without a knife and then it was like rubber to chew. Overall, if your looking for good service, and good tasting drinks to hang out with friends this is it. If you have ever eaten at Chaco's in san antonio, the food and drinks at Chacho's are way better priced and better tasting and Chaco's is "fast food" mexican so its more for drinks and atmosphere than top level mexican. read more

I really wanted to like this place after having a great experience at their other location, but unfortunately, the quality just didn't measure up. The highlights were definitely the soup, tortilla chips, and cocktails, those were delicious. However, the enchilada plate was bland and disappointing. This is one of my partner's favorite dishes, and he was so excited for me to try it, but it completely missed the mark. As for the appetizer, the mahi-mahi just wasn't as fresh as we'd hoped, it felt a bit lackluster. This location does have more seating compared to the Keller location, but overall, it doesn't quite meet the same standard. read more

I stopped by here late one night, and the menu prices were very expensive. They I noticed the next room was actually a different restaurant (EL TACO H), so I went there instead. They have cheap 1.59 tacos, and they were good, and we probably saved $20, for the same food. read more

We had a group of 22 people and the staff were very on top of making sure that our drink orders were taken immediately, followed by our food order. Big shout out to Jaden who took care of us - she's was awesome and did a fantastic job even with our complicated orders. I shared the Texas Surf and Turf with a few others a the smell of the sizzling platter triggered the drooling right away. It has steak, chicken, and shrimp served with tortillas, beans, rice, pico, and sour cream. It was hot and fresh when it came out and had a great flavor! Their margaritas were great too! The had a good flavor and very balanced. I would definitely go back to try more of the menu!

I ordered fajitas to go from La Hacienda in Colleyville, along with the fajita nachos. The fajita…read morenachos were really good, and overall I enjoyed the food. My only complaint with the meal was the beans--they were salty as hell. Definitely way too much salt for me. As far as the service, I picked my order up from the bar. The staff member who helped me wasn't rude by any means, but she wasn't very inviting either. She printed out my ticket, handed everything over, and basically burned off without saying anything else. I just found it interesting because, as a paying customer, even a simple "thank you" or "have a good night" goes a long way. With that being said, I'm not judging the whole place off one to-go experience. The food was good besides the salty beans, so I'm giving them the rating I gave them based on this visit. I'll probably come back again and dine in next time. Maybe the experience will be completely different.
