Nice low-key latin music not blaring that made it easy to talk. Comfy seating and shaded and fanned outdoor seating. Fast and super friendly wait staff that delivered food quick. FOOD Guacamole table service (yes, please)! The salsa scared me at first as it looked like ketchup but have NO fear it's muy bueno! Very flavorful. Verde sauce has SO much flavor. Spicy but not hot and so tasty. I've had 3 TexMex dishes and none of them have corn kernels in any thing (which I appreciate)! The enchiladas are stuffed with tender chicken and the ground beef is perfectly seasoned. The ChaCha was my first dish and it's a perfect combo of everything. The food was very tasty, specially the Ceviche. The mango really gives it a nice touch. I really like that the background music wasn't excessively loud, and that it was very clean. The service, however, need improvement. The restaurant was (judging by the naked eye) about 50% full, and our food and drinks too a long time. Furthermore, our server didn't check in us often. Recommend for anyone looking for good Tex-Mex. The service is great, and is most comparable to NOT being Rodeo Goat. Unlike in Rodeo Goat expect constant refills and low wait times on food. I love anamia's for their traditional TexMex dishes. Salsa, enchiladas, rice and beans are all great and similar to the TexMex style I grew up with in the Rio Grande Valley. For whatever reason, regional takes on TexMex seem to vary widely and a lot of what I've encountered in the metroplex is not very good to me. Anamia's hits the spot every time. read more

It WAS one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. We dined there often. But about 6 months ago, the frozen margaritas changed. They are BITTER!! I thought it may have been a glitch, so we waited a couple months and went back. YUK-still bitter! When I looked around the restaurant, NO ONE had a margarita. Every time we in the Southlake area and hungry we make a point to stop in at Anamia's. The couple of times we've stopped in the food and service has been spectacular. Plus we love their queso which we always order a cup to munch on as we wait to our delicious entrees to be delivered to our table. Today, I my decided on the #9 with includes 3 chalupas, one bean, one quac and one queso. I ordered a #2 for lunch today which had a crispy beef taco, a cheese enchilada and a cheese taco. As we waited for our entrees, we munched out on hot chips and excellent salsa. Our only complaint is the salsa, for us, needs a bit more kick. Our entrees arrived shortly piping hot and served on a VERY hot plate. We didn't talk at all during lunch since we were both scarfing down our lunch. Came on a Friday night and luckily came right before the rush when it was packed! Everyone here is super friendly, and are quick to get you anything you need. Our server Elias was great I ordered the Mexican dinner for myself and enjoyed the taco, and the cheese enchilada. The tamale was 90% masa so it was rubbery and tasted pretty bad. Their salsa and queso were good, but could've used more of a kick to them for extra flavor. Overall the food was a bit bland compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. The best part of my meal was my blueberry margarita. It was a great size and you could tell it was mixed well - I only needed 1 because it was pretty strong. I also ordered a to-go salad for my fiancé and he was extremely disappointed in it. The meat was not cut, nor did it come with dressing. The service here was very quick and polite. I ordered the Fajitas, and the meat was delicious and very well seasoned. Unfortunately, it's clear the tortillas are bought instead of made at the store, and because of this they are way too chewy and tasteless. Although I have frequented this location almost every time I come visit my 84 yr old mother, I will NEVER come back! The male servers (or waitress assistants) are SO rude and ugly (not physically, verbally). We ordered an appetizer of queso with brisket and no pico. The guy brings it and it has pico on it so I said we do not want the pico. He huffs, rolls his eyes and storms away! I can spend my money elsewhere!!!! Anamia's delivered my husband's birthday dinner - for 16 family members. Moses arrived promptly and his service was exceptional. He ensured everything was set up properly; thought of all the 'needed extras;' and could not have been more accommodating or professional. It was more involved than I expected to set it up, but Moses stayed until it was 'just right.' The food was fantastic. I was very impressed with how tasty EVERYTHING was. We have 'dined in' at Animia's fairly often and I was impressed at how well the food 'traveled.' Most guests had multiple servings - and there was still plenty to enjoy. We plan to serve Anamia's at our home again and look forward to it. Highly recommend if anyone is looking for very flavorful food - and something for everyone! read more

We were meeting another mom so we sat for probably 45 min before ordering food and the waiter seemed agitated but also kept us stocked with drinks and chips until then. I had cheese enchiladas, margarita on the rocks and later a mama drink. (Total roughly $40 before tip) Food great, margarita great, mama drink...eh. Probably won't get the mama again. Girl friends had the tortilla plate , a stuff meat dish and the late girl got a chili with meat. The others picked at their meals...I completed mine. I say stick with the classic..Cheese enchiladas. I cleaned up my plate. Very good! We left at 10 pm, closed the place down and the employees were starting to clean. Impressive attention to detail. This is definitely a place to visit if in the area. Very disappointed. I've put off going here because I have my tried and true Mexican restaurants. But thought maybe it would be worth a try. There was 4 of us, service was fine, drinks were fine but food.... The guys had the carne asada which was tough and no flavor. My husband who loves carne asada didn't eat but a third of his. Us girls had the cheese enchiladas with spicy queso. First mine was almost cold, I'll call it luke warm, which for cheese enchiladas is not good. The spicy "queso" did not appear or taste like queso. It was green, but still not even warm. I think it could have been better if it had been hot but still had little flavor. Too many Mexican restaurants to settle for just ok food. I really wanted to like it because it's so convenient. Maybe one more try for the enchiladas but not the carne asada just to see if they serve hot food. read more

Met a friend here for lunch. I had the fish tacos and liked them. They were a very typical fish taco. The tortilla chips were lite and crispy, just how I like them. Salsa was OK. I would have liked more kick, or a hotter option, but no real complaint. Service was very good, but we were not in the throws of lunch hour, in fact a little after. At what point do you give up on your family's favorite restaurant that you have been customer since they opened and a customer at their other locations before this location opened? If looks could kill, I guess our table would be dead from the ugly looks and daggers the manager gave us. The service has always been unpredictable over the years unless we get our favorite longtime server, but the manger's unfriendly and unwelcoming demeanor is a real turn off. He seems be pretty ok with most the other tables. I only recall seeing him since they remodeled but I haven't really paid attention until the last few visits since he's been so dour. Anamia's has not been the only player in town for a long time and we've been loyal customers but when you're made to feel unwelcome, it's clearly time to move on regardless of the food.
