Great papusas! We ordered the pork and cheese as well as the bean and cheese. Great service. Food comes out quick. The barbacoa taco is superb

    Pupusas and tacos

Great food! Highly recommend, food is tasty and the service is awesome. I ordered the pupusas and tacos

Charged me $28 for 3 pupusas, 3 tacos and a drink, and when I requested the receipt; the "ink ran out." Be warned Food was objectively alright. The corn tortillas on my tacos were on the colder side. The pupusas definitely could have been filled up more, and the curtido (cabbage relish) with my pupusa was definitely lacking flavor. Also was given a bag of cilantro and white onion to put on my tacos myself - a pet peeve of mine Overall - definitely not worth $28

I love this place! It was so good and it reminded me of socal Mexican food. I will be coming back. Very homey feeling and people were nice. Great food and customer service. Don't expect a 5 star restaurant, it's a semi hole in the wall which is great for you authentic food lovers. I loved the experience and even though I live far, I'll be coming back frequently. Best ever. How food should be. Don't like Tex Mex, come here, actual Mex. HeHehe.

    Cabbage slaw with jalapeño.

So good and such a great hole in the wall authentic food. No texmex here but great pupusas and gorditas. There are other things on the menu but these are what I've tried. Each order is taken then she goes back and makes it for you, then the next tables order is taken. Fresh, clean and delicious!!

This is the quintessential hole-in-the-wall taqueria! Complete with blue plastic table cloths, Cola Cola (Hecho en Mexico), long distance pre-paid calling cards, Mexican TV and the sweetest, abuelita chef on the planet. Now for the gringo food review...Depending on the day, she makes a mean chicken and/or beef soup with all of the right veggies that practically melt in your mouth! The carnitas tacos are a little crispy, but full of flavor. They're served with fresh, chopped onions and cilantro and a few house made salsas (tomatillo and jalapeño, chile de Arbol). If you live near downtown Grapevine, you can't skip this. It's hidden, but worth the find!!

Mixed and bean and cheese popusas

We tried mixed popusas as well as bean and cheese. My husband ordered guisado plate. All were a great choice! Sweet lady who runs and makes the food.

I arrived during the lunch rush, and both the parking lot and the restaurant were packed. Even though they were extremely busy, we were immediately greeted by a courteous and polite young man who quickly escorted us to a booth. We were seated in Ms. Maria's section, and she was a wonderful server. She greeted us with a warm smile, brought us menus along with the lunch menu, chips and salsa, and promptly served our water. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was friendly, attentive, and very courteous throughout our meal. The chips and salsa were very good. My only suggestion would be to offer a salsa without cilantro for those who prefer it. We ordered the Create Your Own Combo Plate, which included a chicken flauta, a crispy taco, rice, and refried beans topped with cheese for $15.50. The taco was perfectly crispy and well seasoned, while the chicken flauta was covered in a flavorful red chile sauce that had just the right amount of heat. The rice and refried beans were seasoned perfectly and complemented the meal well. We also ordered the chimichanga, smothered in cheese sauce and served with rice and refried beans, for $16.00. It was well seasoned, delicious, and satisfying. The flavors weren't overpowering--they were balanced and enjoyable, making it a dish I would gladly order again. This was my first visit to Mi Dia From Scratch, and I came away very impressed. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the restaurant also offers a nice outdoor seating area. Between the excellent service and flavorful food, I will definitely be back. I hope you'll give it a try too!

I grew up eating school lunch in a state ranked 47th in the U.S. for food quality and taste, and after eating here, I genuinely miss my school lunches. I would rather eat cafeteria food any day. This was literally the worst food experience I have ever had. I can almost guarantee the reviews are fake. Salsa: Literally packaged tomato paste. If you are going to serve packaged salsa, at least use store-bought instead of warmed-up tomato sauce. Chicken Enchiladas Verdes: Rated one of their most popular items, and it was disgusting. If that chicken were any drier, you could weave it into polyester. It was overcooked, packaged meat. Brisket Quesadillas: Absolutely revolting. I have no other comment to make, as I am currently trying not to throw up. As someone who has lived as an expat in 47 different countries and is an elite food reviewer officially recognized by multiple platforms, let me do you a favor and tell you to please avoid this place if you actually want to eat. If you are just here to drink and chill, go ahead--it's a good spot for that. Just don't touch the food. Service is great and very attentive just don't eat the food, come here for drinking

The place is really big with plenty of seating. We sat down right away since it wasn't that busy. Our waitress came over right away to see if we wanted anything to drink. For our entrees we ordered the fish tacos and the ground beef enchiladas. Our entrees came out pretty quick which was nice. The dishes were pretty big. The meat inside the enchiladas were good, the sauce was great, and the beans and rice were very good as well. The fish tacos were cooked perfect and the fish was flaky and had good flavor to them. Of course we couldn't eat it all it was so much so no dessert. Our waiter was really good. Definitely, would come back to this place. Love the atmosphere inside the place.

The service was okay but not as good as usual. After we said two of us were pleased with the temp of the soup, they didn't offer anything more. In the past if we ever had any issue, the manager has come over to talk with us. We weren't looking for any refund, just wanted them to know the food wasn't as good as we are used to. Additionally, refills were slow, and the fajitas came out in multiple steps, first the meat, then a little while later, the accompaniments and then a few minutes later, the tortillas. Just not a great dinner experience this time overall.

Mesa's is just a few minutes drive from Gaylord so it is super convenient. The ambience is pleasant and open and in general it was fine. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seats and parking outside. I did not get a "homey" feel but that may be just me. Our server was attentive and efficient. No problems or complaints. The free chips and salsa were good but not outstanding. The salsa was warm and obviously homemade, but it lacked kick. It was tasty but not "OMG this is good." I started with a cup of Roberto's queso which is the standard queso cheese with some ground beef, pico, and a tablespoon of guacamole. It too was good but not outstanding. I am not sure what it was missing but there was something that was needed. I had the two beef tacos and they were just average. Not much flavor or anything distinctive. The ground beef was not well seasoned so they were kind of bland. The rice and black beans were also kind of bland. Frankly, my tacos at home are better. The wife had the taco salad and liked it, although it did not come with any dressing. She used the salsa. Not sure if that was an oversight or that is the way the salad is served. She was also happy that they serve Negro Modelo on tap, so she was happy. The kid had nachos with black beans and cheese and did not complain. Overall, the meal was fine, nothing was terrible, but nothing really stood out as a compelling reason to return.
