    Steak frites
    Ines R.

Very nice experience. We ordered the Meze platter as an appetizer and it was delicious. Pita bread was so soft and good. Steak frites was incredible. So tender. Marinated for 24 hours and it's shows. So good. We also ordered the Gyro platter. The Gyro meat was dry and didn't have too much flavor but the salad and rice were excellent. We had the kebab very well seasoned and delicious. Service was also good. Very nice busy atmospher.

A new neighborhood jewel, we had dinner here the other night, can't say enough about the food and service. Totally accommodated my Gluten Free GF. The meat was so tender, lamb chops, kabap and chicken thank you Memet and chef Caglar for very nice evening, see you again soon. Nabil

So delicious! I know they sold the restaurant and created a Greek and Turkish fusion but it still holds the name well as everything is fresh and delicious. The staff is so nice and informative when it comes to food suggestions.the decor of the restaurant makes you feel like you're away from Miami Beach and you can definitely dress up or down here. Very cute for a date night or a night out with friends! Plus the Turkish coffee and baklava is SO legit here!

Excellent food and outstanding service. My husband and I were really impressed by how fresh and well-prepared everything was. I definitely recommend the appetizer sampler, the shashlik steak with frites, and the Turkish ice cream.

Absolutely loved this place! The appetizer trio was delicious, the Iskender kebab was outstanding, and the baklava was one of the best I've had. Tea was a perfect ending. Great food and great experience! The chefs clearly put a lot of care into the food, and the servers (Oguzhan and Mehmet) were kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit. We'll definitely be back!

A Mediterranean Masterpiece! Bakalo is a Must-Visit. My wife and I had the most incredible dining experience at Bakalo tonight. From start to finish, the food was exceptionally fresh, bright, and flavorful. We started with an assortment of their rich and creamy hummus dips, served with warm pita--a fantastic way to begin. For our main courses, we sampled the land and sea. I had the perfectly cooked, tender steak, and my wife absolutely raved about her whole branzino, which was flaky, perfectly seasoned, and tasted like it had just been caught. Everything felt light, authentic, and truly high-quality. And the desserts? They truly were unbelievable! We finished our evening with the moist, citrusy orange cake, the flaky, honey-sweet baklava, and a wonderfully robust cup of Turkish coffee. If you are looking for authentic, fresh Mediterranean cuisine and memorable desserts, look no further than Bakalo. Five stars aren't enough!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Bakalo on West Ave! New chef , new menu, new crew. That are fantastic This restaurant is an absolute treasure in Miami. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment you walk in, the amazing atmosphere transports you straight to a charming, cozy street in Greece.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's the perfect setting for a truly memorable meal. The menu boasts a great selection, but everything we tried was exceptional. The Mediterranean flavors are executed so well--you can tell each dish is prepared with care and high-quality ingredients. A few highlights we loved: · The Adana: This was, without a doubt, one of the best versions I have ever tried in the entire Miami area. Incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. · The Wraps: They have created such delicious and satisfying wraps! An absolute must-try. · The Salads: Do not miss out on the salads! They are fresh, vibrant, and a perfect complement to the meal. · The Liver: For the more adventurous foodie, the liver was a standout--unique and expertly prepared. What truly sets The Bakalo apart is the spirit of the place. We were so impressed to see the chef personally caring for and checking on orders in the dining room. That personal touch and dedication to the guest experience is rare and so appreciated.

I had lunch at Bakalo with my Mother a few weeks ago and dinner last night. Chef Charles took over this place in September and has made it a neighborhood locals spot with the freshest ingredients and authentic Turkish and Mediterranean dishes. He sources his ingredients from local farmers and the quality and love he puts into every dish shows. The chicken kebap was super tender and flavorful, I had the lamb chops which were very juicy. Make sure to ask for his homemade spicy sauce if you can handle it! And don't forget to finish off with their almond pudding and some Turkish tea and coffee..absolute must try

Top tier food top tier service. We had the chicken kebap and the chefs salad with a side of grilled chicken everything was marinated perfectly and the yogurt sauce was perfection! We also had some Turkish tea to finish off the meal that was a perfect way to end the meal. Definitely recommend!

Some of the pieces are totally worth it while others are a bit common. Berry Nut Lokum: Wow, this was pretty amazing. It was just the perfect mix of textures and flavors. It starts with tangy dried berries on the outside. Then a chewy sweet nougat layer. Then the center is like squishy Turkish delight filled with nuts and berries. Excellent! Kadayifi Nuts: Lots of those thin pastry noodles so it's almost like a soppy nest on the bottom. A bunch of pistachios on top for some crunch and protein. Pistachio Dolama: Like a bunch of pistachio paste merging with phyllo in a wet pasty roll. Not as much texture contrast as everything else, but tasty. Cheesy Pistachio Shell: It looked like kinda like a baklava, but underneath the phyllo and the pistachio mince was this interesting cheese ball. Almost like a pearl instead an oyster, a great surprise! Probably my second favorite item. Purple Baklava: Like a regular baklava, but purple. Couldn't tell if it was meant to be lavender or ube or just food coloring. Looked cool, but tasted normal. Burma Baklava: Perfect for nut lovers. A tight wrap of pistachios inside a ring of tight phyllo wrap. Almost looks like baklava sushi.

So I walked in expecting at least one moment that justified the noise. It never came. The mixed mezze platter landed first, and that was the first bad sign. It felt store-bought, flat, forgettable, missing that rough, honest, made-in-house character that gives these kinds of places life. The pita was fine. Nothing offensive. Nothing worth thinking about again. Then came the lamb gyro platter. The meat was too greasy, and the rest was just there, filling space on the plate. Not a disaster. Not a crime. Just the kind of meal that reminds you of those late-night kebab spots people hit after too many drinks and low standards. I like those places for what they are. But when the bill climbs past 20 dollars, the rules change. Service was good. The atmosphere had that familiar Miami Beach decorative polish, enough to make the place look better than it eats. And to be fair, the menu is big enough that I would try something else before writing it off completely. But based on this meal, 4.8 stars feels wildly generous.

Its location makes it ideal for a relaxed dinner after a sunset walk, and the ambiance leans into that cozy, family-style hospitality the region is known for. It included creamy hummus, eggplant-based dips like baba ghanoush, beetroot, yogurt spreads, and a pepper-eggplant mix, all paired with warm, fresh pita that kept coming out just right. Sipping Turkish tea in the Miami heat somehow worked perfectly, it was refreshing in its own way. For the main, I ordered the Iskender kebab, a comforting, flavorful dish of gyro-style meat over pita, finished with a light tomato sauce. We also tried Efes beer, a crisp Turkish pilsner that balanced the meal nicely.
