We always loved stopping there for a danish or brunch - especially on our way to Bodega Bay - when they were located right off River Road. Now that they have moved to the 3R Hotel with a dinner menu, we wanted to go check them out. They did NOT disappoint. There were 5 of us and every single plate was amazing - definitely all were 5 star meals! We also had dessert and, just like always before, it was incredible. We had the bread pudding and the strawberry crisp. Both were worth coming back for. Also, we thoroughly enjoyed the live music by Jeremy Lipson. What a great guy - very personable, welcomed requests, and his voice and talent were beyond good. Needless to say, we had a wonderful evening and will definitely be going back there again and again. Amazing brunch experience here! Super friendly female server - detail oriented. I had to try the salmon chowder, which was outstanding that was rich, but tanginess to balance it. My son had the Swedish pancake, and it was delicious too. My picky husband LOVED their biscuits & gravy. He said that dish was "elite" with perfectly smooth gravy (unlike some restaurants that serve grainy gravy). Inside was cozy & welcoming with lots tables. Please reconsider going here if you are a large group, even if you think you have built in an ample time buffer. I wish that I could leave a better review, truly. Our experience unfortunately left much to be desired, & I expressed the below as feedback to a server, as when I asked to speak to the manager or owner, I was told she was busy. I was also told that maybe "she didn't realize" about other restaurant events that day when our reservation was taken. As an establishment, please think twice (and maybe even don't take?) large group reservations if you know your kitchen can't handle them on a busy day. No one would fault you for that. Especially since we were contacted to move our original earlier reservation to a later one due to 'two other big groups' at that original time. However, when we did come in at the requested later time, a curt 'just so you know, it'll be a while' statement by our server at the way beginning of the eventual meal was followed up by *zero* eye contact , communication or updates. We had to finally go ask about the ETA *an hour and a half after ordering*, due to extreme hunger, flight times & medication timings in our group. The food was ok, nothing memorable & nothing wrong with it- just that some members didn't receive items how they ordered them. What a pleasure to spend a meal at Baked on the River during our short stay along Russian river. They blew us away with the flavor with both the scone and the brisket. The scone with gravy was shockingly robust and every bite was full of cheddar and bacon goodness. When they suggest to add extra bacon - just do it! You won't regret the addition as this dish does not disappoint As for the brisket sandwich - with over 14 hours of love and care, the chef was able to pull the peach flavor into the meat. My wife and I have been to Guerneville many times. On our way to Armstrong Woods, we decided to check out Baked On The River for breakfast. This is a really cute place that is part of a little hotel in town. It has a small indoor section and several tables outside. The decor is fun with nature art, inviting tables and chairs, cool light fixtures, and a friendly staff. I thought it was rather amusing that every table had a Trader Joe's salt and pepper shaker. The menu had a Swedish theme to it. Not big menu, but everything sounded great. I really loved the two dishes we ordered today. The Frittata with Swedish meatballs sounded off at first, but the flavors and textures in this dish were awesome. We also had their Swedish pancakes, which were not as thin as I've had at other places, but I absolutely loved these. They reminded me of the 49er Flapjacks at Original Pancake House. I had heard great things about this place so was really excited to see that they'd be open while I was in town. They did not disappoint! It was a Monday morning so it was pretty quiet, so we decided to we would try to eat outside with our dog. She unfortunately could not handle herself when another dog showed up so we ended up taking our food to-go, but it was still amazing. They had told us that they offer house-made doggie meatballs and so they gave us the meatball to take home as well. I got the spicy mocha, and it probably the best spicy mocha I have ever had. The balance between the flavor of the chocolate, the spiciness, and other warm spices was incredible. My partner got the dark mocha, which was also delicious! In terms of food, we got: Pancakes from the North and added a side of egg. The pancake is super thin, almost like a crepe, and comes with sides of whipped cream, syrup, butter, and lingonberry jam. This was absolutely delicious, would definitely get again. Groovy sconed and gravy - this was the extra winner for us because we are pescatarians and don't usually get to find a gravy we can eat! The veg version has cheddar herb scones (regular version is cheddar-bacon) in a gravy (not sure what they use for the gravy, but we did confirm it's vegetarian). The gravy was thick and delicious, the scones were hearty enough to not get totally soaked and soggy, and the poached egg it came with was perfectly jammy. Our dog was obsessed with the doggie meatballs, she gives it 11/10! We got a sweet scone to eat later, which was also divine. I am definitely coming back next time I'm in town! I came here with my husband and a good friend on the recommendation from another friend. We started with a round of cocktails, and the waitress seemed unsure of the drinks. But they came out perfectly and we put in our order for dinner. We all got the lasagna special served with a side salad. I love lasagna and this was like none I've ever had before. I think it was made with ground chicken and a white sauce. It was amazing! My husband had the prix fixe meal which started with split pea soup and ended with mocha cake in addition to the lasagna and house salad. Friendly and helpful waitress and the chef came to check on our food several times. You can sit indoors or outdoors. The (dog friendly) garden was ridiculously cute, full of flowers and butterflies. The seating was mostly picnic tables with umbrellas. They also had some indoor seating, but the outside was clearly more popular. For drinks, I got an Iced Coffee with Irish Cream syrup and the Blueberry Blast Smoothie. The Iced Coffee was strong/pretty standard, but my smoothie was fantastic! My friends got the Red Velvet Smoothie (also SO delicious) and a Thai Iced Tea (a bit too milky, not enough flavor). For food, I chose the Brunch Bird breakfast sandwich, which had chicken sausage, havarti cheese, lettuce, and egg. The sandwich was small but surprisingly filling, and so tasty in a simple way. My friends all enjoyed their food as well, including the Health Nut Bowl and the other breakfast sandwich variations. After a day on the River, my husband, sister and I needed sustenance and were dying to try the hotdogs we'd heard about at Baked on the River. We were running up against the clock during the hour in which the restaurant closes between lunch and dinner service, but when we called ahead Helena, the owner, graciously invited us to come regardless and said there would be a place for us. As someone of partial Swedish descent, I was so excited to try these Scandinavian-style hotdogs and was impressed not only by the other traditional Swedish dishes on the menu, but so much more! The hotdogs were everything we dreamed of and needed in that moment and Helena and her staff were so incredibly kind, warm, and generous the entire time we were there. Being that it was a Saturday afternoon at the end of the summer season, we were also privy to a bacchanalian lesbian party happening in front of us across from the restaurant in the pool area of the R3 Hotel. Watching ladies twerk with only some strategically placed electrical tape used as clothing above the waist while we dined in virtual silence (those windows are impressively sound proof!) eating our hot dogs while the long lost Swedish aunt we never knew we had tended to us was surreal and uniquely Guerneville. Dec2023 Cuuuuute little spot. We happened upon here venturing in the area. Workers were all really friendly and helped with any questions we had. I liked that they had a number of different vegetarian options, or things that you could swap into their dishes. Check ins were frequent, along with water and coffee refills. My compatriot had ordered the the Early Bird, and I had gotten the Veggie Hash in Pan. We also got the bread pudding to share after. Everything was cooked well for each of the dishes. Compatriot liked the early bird. Bread had good crunch and the cheese was melted nicely. The hash in pan was good though I wanted more of it since it was just veggies. I did like the beets and cornichons on the side for a nice flavor and texture change. That bread pudding tho... I'm not a sweets guy, but it was nice, warm, and gooey the whole way. We definitely nibbled that thing into non existence. In retrospect, I wish I had grabbed more of the pastries to try but I didn't want to let them sit in the car. If around the area though, we'll swing on by again to try more things. read more

We came in for breakfast and were disappointed on a few fronts. We ordered both the breakfast hash plate and the avocado toast. The avocado toast was the worse of the two. It came with dry scrambled eggs, dried herbs/spices, cheese, and avocado which was not ripe enough. It was overall just very bland and in desperate need of any kind of sauce to bring it together. Even a runny egg yolk would have been better than nothing at all. The bread, however, was tasty. The breakfast hash was tasty but the portion size was very small. It was a 22 dollar breakfast hash and I left still hungry after finishing it. Anytime you pay 22 dollars for a breakfast hash, you should leave feeling full. Lastly, we paid 9 dollars for 3 tiny, thin pieces of bacon which wasnt very flavorful either. Overall, we were really disappointed with the experience. Our waitress was very sweet and the service was good. I wont be back anytime soon but should we give it another chance, hopefully they can provide better value for the money. read more

Thanks to the Yelp app for finding this hidden gem, after we attended a wine tasting in downtown Guerneville. We wanted to have brunch somewhere, my daughter always doubts me when I take her in the middle of nowhere. Be sure not to drive past it, I almost did that. It's bigger than it looks from the outside, as the adorable restaurant has a huge outdoor patio with live music and nursery feel. The ladies are welcoming, and Chef Helena Gustavsson-Giesea knows her baked goods. I looked her up, she's well-known in Sonoma County. We saw how she interacted with locals, and they're so happy coming in to get their bread, something simple as bread made their day. Everything is made with love here. Although some pastries were sold out by the time we arrived, but I will definitely make the trek up to Guerneville for this adorable pitstop. My daughter has never seen a place like this, and now she's a believer. The Swedish meatball salad was delicious and so were the savory bacon-cheddar scones with housemade gravy.
