    Hangtown Fry -- yum!
    Anastasia M.

We had breakfast at Cape Fear last Saturday and it was absolutely delicious! I thought I'd try something new, so I ordered the Hangtown Fry and I am so glad that I did! The eggs, spinach and sausage reminded me of Joe's Special, and the fries oysters and zippy sauce really rounded it out! So delicious! With fried potatoes and toast, the meal filled me up for the day! Plus, the coffee was fresh and strong and the service was prompt and fully of witty repartee!! The perfect spot to stop! And don't forget to check out all of the great shops in Duncan's Mills!

Stopped by on the way to the coast. You can find the restaurant where the cute historic shopping village is in Duncan Mills (can't miss it! ;)) It was a relatively sunny day so we sat outside. The service was fast and attentive. We got our foos relatively quickly. Ordered the hangtown fry, waffle, and sausagse. Everything tasted fresh, not too greasy and flavorful.

Stopped in while shopping, and I'm so glad we did! The food was amazing! I ordered the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich and it was perfectly done! The bread paired perfectly, the chicken was cooked and seasoned proper, and the mango salsa added a good depth of flavor without overpowering the sandwich. Well done! The service was good, the server (whom I'm pretty sure was the owner) made for a fun experience, he was friendly and also on top of everything the entire time. Great job! :) The Ambiance is that of a small French inspired cafe, and it fits in perfectly with the motif of the shops around it. If you're in the area and are looking for a good meal then look no further.

The food was ok, service lacking. Long wait for check, silverware and no refills. The lady who was serving was super loud and kind of abrasive. Never told us the special either. Would try somewhere else and not return.

Great salads and solid portions! Grabbed a late lunch over the holiday weekend and this place was packed! The portions were generous and the salads looked phenomenal. I ordered the curry chicken sandwich on homemade focaccia. The focaccia was a bit dense for my preference, but the flavors and spices were lovely. Fries were mid-range, but still cleaned the plate. The servers were all very friendly, even with the summer crowds. A solid lunch spot.

Wonderful little spot. Extremely friendly staff. Had the salmon Benedict which was delicious! Best grits I've had in a long time. Surrounded by cool shops too.

Found this gem on Yelp and it did not disappoint! We walked right in, were greeted and seated within a minute. The coffee was really good and the food was even more amazing! The service was quick, friendly and made you feel like an old friend. The ambiance was well decorated and gave you that home feel; as if you're eating at a family member's or good friend's home.

Parking - lots of parking in the front side and rear of the shops Service - great. Loved the energy and enthusiasm. Definitely made it fun. Rear patio accommodates dogs. Thanks Francisco! Food - waffle and a cheeseburger w/bacon. Both rock solid and definitely satisfied our hunger Do stop in Duncan Mills and check out the shops.

We came by for breakfast during our stay at Cazadero and were pleased with our food! Got seated right away upon arrival. Prices were kind of expensive despite its location though. Service: 10/10. Everyone we interacted with was nice, quick, and super friendly. Food: 10/10. Fried oyster po boy - Juicy and delicious. Lots of oysters in there as well. Fresh vegetables and nicely toasted bread. Ricotta tortellini with house smoked salmon - 10/10. Needless to say, this was veeeerrryyyyyy cheesy. Nonetheless, it was really delicious and smoked salmon really balanced out the cheesiness idk why lol. I finished this in a day and it's very uncommon for me to finish a meal in just a day :) House coffee - A bit bland but it was kind of strong like I wanted it.

Are small well-behaved dogs allowed in the outside seating area during breakfast?

Yes! We've taken our two dogs there many times

What time does this place really open? I just called at 9:30am and it was closed though it says open on yelp.

I think their hours vary during time of year. I just took a pic of their new summer hours posted in the window and will post to Yelp. Hopefully it's more accurate then Yelp hours

On the wall was a chalkboard with the list of local farmers and vendors that they used to supply their restaurant. I loved how fresh and flavorful all the food was, but I loved their collaboration with small local business owners to provide them with things like eggs and dairy. I had an omelette with spinach, caramelized, tomatoes, chicken sausage, and goat cheese. This was one of the most delicious bites I've had at a breakfast spot in a long time. We also shared an order of beignets that came with some fresh apple butter, which was to die for! It felt like taking a bit off fall weather if that makes sense. My boyfriend had some biscuits and country gravy with a side of sausage and fried eggs. He loved everything that he ate as well. He also had a bloody Mary, which was made with Soju. The flavor and quality was top notch and you hardly missed the vodka from the drink. Our server was very friendly, and he offered some insight into the quality of the Soju and the vendors that they work with. I just really loved the care that this restaurant put into not only service but the food that they're producing.

The service was awesome, our server Evan quickly got us to our seats and took our orders. We tried the oyster epiphany (fresh oyster with lime ginger and wasabi dressing) I wasn't a big fan of oysters due to its fishy after taste. But this place nailed it! The sauce really paired well, oysters were soo fresh I could go for another round. We also ordered homemade sourdough as starters, the whipped butter was very light , not too overwhelming. The sourdough was soft and the poppy seeds add texture to it. The pairing works so well, we asked for another refill. Now to the main course, the fish tacos were on point, not very memorable to be honest. But the pasta!!! omg you could tell it was hand made, the shrimp were fresh and cleaned it wasn't fishy at all. I was expecting it to be a tomato based pasta, but the sun dried tomato gave such a nice additional profile, sweet and sourness to the truffle based pasta sauce. Last but not least, let's talk about the view! It is not everyday you got to see the end of the river and the start of Pacific Ocean. it was such a stunning view. Overall it is a 5/5 experience!

Wish I had known a couple of details before planning my anniversary dinner here…read more This place is known for epic views, naturally we wanted a table with a view so I called a week in advance to request just that. The woman I spoke to said she would put it in her notes and that specific tables are not able to be held. She assured me we would have a good spot so I took her word for it. This was our first time coming here and its an hour drive. There is very minimal parking. We were lucky to get a spot as someone was leaving. We were seated at the worst table this place has to offer, right at the entrance to the bar and kitchen, in a narrow walkway, there is a window for one person to look out of and the other seat is looking into the kitchen as the table is positioned halfway in the middle of a window, so one side is against a wall and a view of the kitchen. The busy waitstaff was coming in and out quickly from both areas and walking past us with plates and such, it was chaotic at best. It felt almost insulting to be seated here as we had made a request well in advance to celebrate our anniversary which was also not acknowledged. Another party was just leaving so I was able to request to move. We were then seated at a 2 top table just outside of the atrium with a direct view thru a window of another 2 top table on the other side of the glass so when you go to look out the window its like you are staring at the people at the table thru the glass partition. We were so deflated by this whole seating situation. I say all of this to point out that if you are a party of 2 there is barely any tables with a clear view for both people so keep that in mind! If you have a party of 4-6 you have a much better chance of a better table. Really wish I had known that!!! The interior was nice enough but lacking the romance and ambiance I had hoped for, can we get some candles or flowers on the tables? Seems like an obvious detail overlooked. As far as the menu we were a bit underwhelmed by the offerings, there is a prefix menu and a small menu adjacent with minimal options like lamb and elk or vegetarian.... Probly should have looked at that before making this reservation but I had heard how amazing it was so I just took a chance. Although the choices were limited we enjoyed everything we ordered, food and drinks. Our waitress was nice and did a good job for us overall but definitely was more attentive and informative to the group adjacent to us which was a bit disappointing. Again this was a celebratory dinner and it just fell short for us in that way as it was not acknowledged Our tab was a little over 300$ portions were modest although tasty. I enjoyed the drinks and desert the most. To sum it up, I wont be going out of my way again to come back here. If I found myself in the area I might enjoy stopping in for a drink and dessert. Id say a solid 2.5 stars

My husband had the chop, my youngest the salmon and my other son and I had the chicken. Wow, wow wow! That pounded out chicken was juicy on the inside while the crust was crispy and not at all greasy. The mash was handmade and that Texas gravy? Your Memaw would be speechless! It was hands down the best white gravy I've ever had. My husband gave me a bite of his chop and it was sinfully delish! My son with the salmon barely spoke during the meal as he thoroughly enjoyed his dish. To top off this wonderful dining experience, the owner gave my husband and I a nice bottle of local wine and bought my son's drinks when we informed him that our youngest son was leaving for the Army that Sunday.
