They REALLY hit the spot on a VERY HOT DAY. Located in the lovely Hyde Park Village, it's nice to stop in after having had some of my favorite Sprinkles cupcakes to compliment and cool off with. I love how they let me take Muffin in with me so she could enjoy the ambiance and cool air too, lol. Oddfellows has a huge selection of ice cream flavors, some of the classics, and some more unique. I rarely do classics (unless it's really REALLY good and no one does it better) so I went with their Banoffee flavor which is something like banana with toffee. Very satisfying and sweet with a unique twist from the banana adding the slightly smoky bite of toffee. And I'm not even much a banana person, but this would be a nice go-to whenever I stop by. Service is pretty prompt to greet and attend to as well, so I always feel pretty welcomed. read more

Still some great flavors here, but quality has noticeably been going down since they opened. Their products are not as reliable and service not as friendly. There's a noticeable decline in the entire experience and maybe others feel the same bc the place is almost always empty even on the weekends. I'm there often bc it's the only ice cream shop and that's what my kid always asks for. Each time I left with an unpleasant experience - my waffle cone had holes so the soft serve was leaking out the sides, the staff member wasn't friendly, the soft serve another time was barely a full serving and consistency was off, odd smell in the store, etc. I'm sad to the decline of this great ice cream concept and the fun, friendly scoop shop it once was. read more

They also have miso peanut butter brownie, an Aval raspberry ciderrosé infused flavor,. The matcha latte coconut based matcha green tea is GREAT! They have a vegan grasshopper chocolate mint cashew based ice cream with chocolate cookies that has cashwes and wheat in it.. They also have several vegan coconut based ice creams. They have a passionfruit apricot pistachio,. They do a peabut butter s'mores, a key lime pie with marshmallow swirls and graham soil, two GREAT coffee flavors : coffee crunch with swirls of coffee soil and one with St. Pierre's waffles. Cones are about $7, a double scoop for $10. They also do floats, flights ($12) ice cream sandwich, soft serve and pints for 11ish. I love their coconut vegan flavors and their cashew based one. I've gotten ice cream flights elsewhere that had bigger portions, so I thought I wouldn't be able to eat one alone, this one had smaller scoops so I probably could have. I liked that there were a variety of flavors, some I liked better than others. Stopped here after having a brunch. Place is nice inside, has some chairs to seat down but not many. It's absolutely freezing inside. You basically enter a freezer. We barely could finish ice cream before we got so cold that couldn't seat there anymore. Service is nice and pleasant, just as regular ice cream place. They have lots of unique flavors, selection is pretty large, especially if you like to try some interesting flavors. Taste wise is not so good, definitely had better ice cream before. It wasn't creamy, I could taste ice pieces. I think ice cream from the grocery store is better, obviously not every, but Whole Foods has a pretty good selection of ice cream that tastes better. The flavors had fun, unique names that my kids enjoyed while I enjoyed the taste. I found the ice cream to not be overbearingly sweet, in fact, I personally could have went for it being a little sweeter. The prices were a tad bit higher than some of my other local favorites but not so much to knock off points. I sampled a variety of flavors before finally deciding on a two scoop but being honest, you really cannot go wrong with any flavor you choose. I had a fantastic experience here. The service was wonderful! The guy at the counter during lunch time on 2/15/2022 was so patient and professional. I wish I remembered his name. He greeted us and answered all of our questions. He provided samples as well. This has been on my list of places to go to when in Hyde Park Village. It borders the park area and it's near Sorrento Sweets. Anyway, the OddFellows ice cream shop first opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn back in 2013. It has been super popular ever since. They have some wonderfully unique flavors that apparently all started from pregnancy cravings. Just read about it when looking up interviews with Mohan Kumar (one of the owners). I also think there is a story behind the toy monkey with the cymbals. That's their mascot named Clyde. Creepy monkey aside, the carnival theme is what makes them stand out. It's a whimsical atmosphere. I really do love the creativity in the décor and their product. I was set on trying their Passionfruit Apricot Pistachio ice cream. No one was going to change my mind on that. Although I thought about trying the Kitchen Sink flavor. The ice cream was amazing! It had the most natural passion fruit and apricot flavor. It didn't taste artificial whatsoever. The pistachio was there but it was finely chopped and just provided a little texture here and there. It was great! I'd totally get it again. I'm looking forward to trying more flavors. They bring out new ones each month. I hope they bring out the Thai Tea flavor again. That would be awesome. read more

Delightfully surprised with my passion fruit apricot pistachio ice cream with Oreo cookie crumbs. I've been stuck on my love for Chill Bros. And with that, I haven't found an ice cream I loved much. This time, I tried a few flavors at Oddfellows and they were pretty good. They tasted bright and flavorful and like the flavor they say they are. I really enjoyed my ice cream. It didn't taste all weird and it did taste like every single flavor it was without tasting off or fake. I'm happy I tried it. I would definitely recommend them. I do wish they gave a sliver of cone on the side like other ice cream places. I also had no issues with the guy who assisted me with my order. He was very friendly with giving me samples, & getting my order. The inside is nice and bright and fun. It's was super hot outside so an ice cream sounded right. Looking at the options I see they have a wide range of different flavors. They have flavors with infused alcohol! I also liked how on the menu it says whether an ice cream is vegan, gluten free, contains dairy. They have something for everyone depending on their dietary restrictions. We were walking around Hyde Park and wanted to get some ice cream, so we decided to give OddFellows a try. The layout was confusing. We weren't sure where to order. Most ice cream places you go, you can actually see the ice cream in the display case but here you just ordered off the menu. I prefer seeing the ice cream before ordering. My fiancé tried their chocolate ice cream and said it was ok, not as creamy or rich as we were hoping for. I tried their chocolate soft serve ice cream which I thoroughly enjoyed. It's definitely pricey for ice cream, but the quality wasn't worth what you paid for. Chills Bros is still our favorite place for ice cream in Tampa. Rude workers and not great ice cream. They claim they close at 10pm on their door but at 9:45pm they were already closing up. They were definitely in a rush to clock out and made that clear. I asked for a sample of one of their flavors and the girl behind the counter rolled her eyes and seemed like I was being annoying. I felt guilty so I ordered the vegan chocolate ice cream even though I wasn't impressed with the sample. The taste was very average, not creamy or fresh. For $6 for one kiddie scoop of ice cream, it was a huge disappointment. I ended up tossing it out halfway through. It just wasn't good. We were promptly greeted by the staff and even though they were out of cookies and cream again, the young man working there suggested we call ahead to see if they have it and also recommended his fav flavors. The business started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn by a married couple having a baby, and their friend, an award winning chef. They have several locations between Tampa and Brooklyn. Many of the flavors are unique such as cheddar apple pie, peanut butter banana, key lime pie, and poppycock just to name a few. The key lime was excellent. They also serve vegan ice cream and sorbet. You can try a small spoonful before deciding The store is modern with clean lines. There is a seating area inside. Parking is difficult in this area, but there is a free parking garage a few blocks away. read more

Such a cute and decorative shop, it felt very welcoming along with the staff, they were great, helpful, and kind. I was amazed at all of the crazy flavors, I have never tried ice cream with wasabi in it which I have to say was surprisingly good if you like wasabi.
