This place has such an incredible selection of olive oils and vinegars! The best part is, everything tastes exactly as advertised! Samples are free and you can try as many items as you'd like, within reason. In particular, their fruit-flavored balsamics are some of the best in the business. With some of the other flavored balsamics I've tried one really struggles to make out the claimed flavors. I was flying out of San Diego Int'l so I had to limit myself to one 100ml bottle in the fear of TSA confiscating it but I would have bought one of each flavor otherwise! They are also happy to ship orders for free over a certain order minimum. I plan on contacting them to see if they can ship me a case of vinegars -- they are so good mixed with a bit of still or sparkling water!

TLDR: a small gourmet shop in Liberty Public Market offering delectable in-house olive oils and balsamic vinegars in dozens of flavors! Baker & Olive is a must-try in the SD area if you like unique oils and vinegars that you can use for dressings, sauces, pastas, baking, etc. They have a wide assortment of flavors, the option to sample as many as you like, and sales on select bottles during holidays (might be year-round). For the variety of options, convenience of location (there's so many other food, beer, and souvenir vendors in the market), and uniqueness, I found the pricing very reasonable at $9 for 3.4 oz, $14.99 for a 6.76 oz, and $19.99 for 12.7 oz. I picked up three small bottles and I rate them in order: - Espresso balsamic vinegar: coffee flavor mellows out the sharpness of the vinegar for a smoother, richer finish - Peach white balsamic: I do have a preference for white balsamics and this one incorporates the sweetness of a juicy peach well - Fig balsamic: sweetness of the fig also mellows out the vinegar but I couldn't taste the fig note as well as the other two That said, the flavors are subtle, meaning all the balsamic vinegars do still taste as they should - tangy, sharp, and acidic. By the time I was done choosing, I was probably half blood, half oil/vinegar, but no regrets LOL. I am happily making good use of the three I brought home, and the next time I am in SD, I will 100% be back to buy gifts for friends and more for my fam as well. + also would like to note that some reviews complain of the lack of service, but tbh as a major introvert, I appreciated being left alone to try all the flavors I wanted at my own leisure without someone constantly breathing over my shoulder (so you do you dude!)

I loved this little store in the market! I just saw that they offered samples of a huge variety of oils and balsamic vinegars! These were aged and had such a depth of flavor I loved trying them all! The pricing was $9 for a 3.4oz bottle, $14.99 for a 6.76oz bottle, and $19.99 for a 12.7oz bottle. I bought two 3.4oz bottles of different balsamic vinegars, peach white balsamic and apricot balsamic. The staff were so friendly and also had some knowledge to share about the products! Love love love the vibe of the place too! It is so aesthetically pleasing! Posted many many photos of what everything looked like! Make sure to check in for an extra 15% off! Support this business! I know I'll be back on my next trip to San Diego!

Excellent products! We popped into Liberty Public Market and I couldn't help myself. I had to taste the different olive oils and vinegars. I did walk away with a lovely bottle of white balsamic and a delicious Eureka lemon infused olive oil.

I visited this shop while I was on vacation in San Diego from Arizona. I bought one of the 4 pack samplers called the "San Diego Box" for my wife. Everything was fine, I brought the gift home three days later. I looked on my bank statement and noticed my card had been charged twice for the single transaction. My receipt only shows one box with a total of $34.99. I have tried calling them and left messages and nobody has called back, acknoledged, apologized or anything. I know it was PROBABLY just an oversight, but $70 is a ton of money for four tiny bottles. If they contact me and reverse the charge, I will gladly take down the review, but it stays until they do! I try not to think the worst of people, but can't help but wonder if she noticed I was not from California and disputing the charge will be difficult. Time will tell...

First time trying a white balsamic. It was delicious. Seasonal Pumpkin spice white balsamic.

I really liked walking into this place, another gem in the Liberty Public Market in San Diego, Really liked the ability to taste both the extra virgin oils as well as the aged balsamic vinegars (including white vinegars). A while back, I had tasted a pomegranate dark balsamic vinegar somewhere. Cannot recall where but have never forgotten the experience. So much so that we bought a small bottle (it was pricey). And I have been searching for a place ever since. So imagine my delight. I did some tasting. There are numerous infused balsamics to taste. I settled for a bottle of the pomegranate dark balsamic vinegar. It is aged for 18 years and made from grapes in Modena, Italsy. A 375 ml bottle is $19.99. Grab one and you will ascend to another culinary planet.

Great selection of Olive Oil and Vinegars. Customer service is great and they are always willing to help you and offer recommendations. They just started doing happy hour ($1 off) 4pm to 6pm Mon-Fri I believe. Hey save a a buck to spend on some more great oils? No problem. Just go in, try some oils and some vinegars, let your creative imagination flow as you debate which to pair together to make a great dressing for your salad or which vinegar to marinade your steak in. Won't be disappointed.

We typically go to Iowa Farms since it's close to us and we're familiar with the location. We love getting the potato salad and bbq baked beans (prepackaged) sides there when we stop in, but if you're not early on the weekend, they usually run out. So we decided since we'd be in the Bay Park area, we'll check out the original location, Siesel's. Glad we did! I wanted to make a slow cooker brisket one weekend, so it was perfect. Siesel's is a bit larger than Iowa Farms and feels a bit more open. Same great cow awaiting outside the store. But they have a whole deli counter with all the sides plus more! They didn't have any ready made prepackaged bbq baked beans, it was better, made fresh daily and we were able to get as much as we wanted at the deli counter. They also have several different Siesel's signature potato salads and pasta salads that aren't offered prepackaged at Iowa farms, which I absolutely love! My favs are the Asiago pasta and deviled egg potato salad. We also decided to try their Tri-tip sandwich made to order at the deli and it was delicious! Fluffy bun piled high with Tri-tip covered in bbq sauce and have the option to add cheese and anything else. Love it! Staff is always very helpful. Parking lot can get full on the weekends, and they can run out of the pre-prepared meats in the front counter, but make sure to ask if there's any more in the back or they may be able to prepare some for you! We'll definitely be back! Until next time! :) Simply the best! Series: 17 2026: 34

We had the salmon poke, house salad, a couple oysters and fish tacos. The fish tacos are HUGE so you really don't need two if you're trying other things or get a couple and share. Also really loved the salad, and they make their own dressings so even better and they top it with capers gave it that salty deliciousness. Fresh cut veggies and So good! The poke needed a little pizzaz so I added a little heat to it and soy sauce, I felt the flavors came out more well balanced. I did not enjoy the rice wonton chips (no flavor there) but you could eat the poke alone it was so fresh. My friend enjoyed the oysters. But those fish tacos!! I was not in love with the salmon, it was a little overcooked for my liking. Also the blackening did not have the kick I'd hoped for and is anticipated with blackened. But the grouper with the chipotle butter...hit hard! So good!!! I'd absolutely come back for those tacos. I woke up thinking about them. We may try their ocean beach location today, because they have cocktails that look pretty darn good along side those fish tacos. Parking is tough here, and the line was out the door after 5 pm...so plan accordingly...but 100% worth it. We were watching everything come out of the kitchen, and it is shockingly a well run machine. Things came out fast, looked beautiful and the flavors were well done. I'd like to try their grilled fish next time.
