    the label on the bag

This stuff tastes absolutely amazing. Worlds better than any of the watered down mixtures u might find at Whole Foods, etc. It comes in a 24oz frozen bag from Mad Beets on Garnet. At $25 a pop you are looking at three $8+ cups of 8oz broth!! So I really try to savior it each time lol. The easiest way to prepare it is to cut open the bag and place the frozen block in a heating pan.... set to LOW temp on ur burner and let it dethaw for 20-30mins. I refrigerate the leftover and reheat and serve within 2-3 days.

With the thickness of this one compared to all the others I've tried, I know it is a high quality source for collagen.

It's easy to drink unlike a lot of health foods that are either gross or have a ton of sugar.

The business still features offerings from Mati's, but it is now a food collective. A chicken wing vendor and a future chicken and waffles vendor will be sharing the same kitchen. Parking is free for up to 30 minutes in the shared lot. After that duration, you need to pay at one of the available kiosks. Since these were the early days of The Playground, there were operational kinks that need to be smoothed out. First were the unusual business hours (e.g. 9 am to 9 pm on Thursday and Friday, only 7 pm to 9 pm on Sunday, etc). My initial attempt to visit occurred after work on a weekday. Despite the supposed closing time of 11 pm, the doors were locked at 5:30 pm. Second was the lack of prices on the menus. That is a cardinal sin in my book because if you are open to the public, then you owe it to the customers to disclose the costs. The first item for my to-go order was a snack size serving (six pieces) of Chicken Wings. I picked Bonnie's Barbeque for a sauce that featured a sweet and smokey flavor. The wings were coated with the sauce and not deep fried which made them a bit healthier. The second item was a Birria Quesadilla that came with consome on the side. A flour tortilla was filled with cheese, marinated shredded beef, cilantro, and onion. It was then sliced into smaller triangular pieces and then separated by aluminum foil in a takeout box. The consome had moderate richness while the cheesy, beefy tortilla was filling. I didn't understand the meaning of the new moniker as the interior setup had not been modified. It certainly did not have the ambiance of a playground. My first impression of this place was a three star rating with multiple areas of needed improvement including signage on the marquee. If one is driving down Mission Blvd, then there is no way to notice from the roadside that The Playground even exists.

I visited the…read moreplayground with high hopes based on the reviews, but what I got instead was a stomach-turning disaster. I ordered the Birria Crunch Wrap, and halfway through eating, I discovered a long strand of hair buried in the food. Not just on top in the food. It was clearly cooked into the dish, which tells me that basic hygiene in the kitchen is completely lacking. When I pointed it out to the server, she barely apologized and offered to remake it, as if that would magically erase the thought of chewing through someone else's hair. No manager came to speak to us, no discount, no sense of urgency or genuine concern. The rest of the food wasn't memorable either--bland, lukewarm, and overpriced for the quality. But honestly, after the hair incident, I couldn't bring myself to take another bite. If you value cleanliness and basic health standards, avoid this place. There are plenty of other restaurants that know how to wear a hairnet.

I won't say the service was slow but it would have been a little quicker. The food I would also rate about 4.5. All our dishes were great portions and tasted great. I can only see we our table finished all their food. My burger could use a little more flavor but still worth it. Now location is what makes this great! A view of a nice lawn and the bay. The atmosphere was great! The weather perfect and the solo performer singing was also great! Worth coming back to. Parking is validated, but it was tough to get valet at the time and self parking did seem limited.

It's a dream set-up for a working parent looking for a delicious respite to catch up with their week and breath.

One of the best-kept secrets is the upstairs area called The Nest. To get there, head through the restaurant and take the staircase in the back downstairs. The views are incredible with ocean views, beautiful sunsets, and when there are fireworks over the bay, you get an amazing vantage point to watch them. I'm personally obsessed with their pizzas, but honestly everything is great. Their pastas are top notch, chicken piccata, wagyu meatballs, whipped ricotta, and cheesecake. Weekend brunch is also delicious! They also offer mocktail options, which is a huge plus for anyone not drinking. Another thing I love is that it's family-friendly during appropriate hours, so it's a great spot whether you're meeting friends for drinks, bringing the kids for dinner, or enjoying a date night upstairs at sunset. Great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, and one of the most underrated views in Pacific Beach. Highly recommend checking it out! Generous on the mash potatoes underneath. The inside is super cute, gets pretty busy but the vibes are there. We'll be back, heard they have a good brunch to check out!
