I had one of those giant pretzels from this place at Liberty Public Market. Although they offer a variety of flavors, I decided on the traditional with sea salt. You have to pay for dipping sauce. I had the mustard. The pretzel came with a very good amount of sea salt. It was well baked and offered a light crispy exterior and a soft center. It was tasty for sure and went well with the traditional mustard. They also offer a jalapeno & cheese, pepperoni & cheese, and cinnamon & sugar with a variety of sauces. Oh yes! The only employee was very helpful which was necessary because the menu shows products that have been discontinued. I stopped by Wicked Popcorn at Liberty Station after work to grab a small bag of regular popcorn as an amenity for one of my clients. The concept is cute, and I wanted to support a local spot--but honestly, the experience was just okay. When I walked in, the vibe was kind of "meh." The two girls working seemed super casual--think sweatpants and chill high school/college energy. No big deal, but it didn't exactly give off that warm, polished customer service feel. I asked for a small bag of plain popcorn, and one of them said it'd be at least a 5-minute wait since they had to pop a fresh batch. Totally fine--I sat nearby and waited. But while I was waiting, I noticed one of the girls scraping the bottom of the machine for leftover popcorn bits and crumbs, tossing it into a bag. Next thing I know, the other girl walks over and hands it to me with a "Thanks for waiting!" I made a comment like "That was fast--I thought it'd be 5 minutes?" and she replied, "Oh, we had an extra bag." At that point, I just didn't feel like pushing it. I paid and left. The popcorn itself was fine, but the overall service left a lot to be desired. I wasn't expecting a red carpet experience, but a bit more attention to presentation and follow-through would've made a big difference. I was at the Liberty marketplace in San Diego, where this location is located. Parking was very easy to find one of the places I chose to try was wicked popcorn. I chose cheddar and caramel put together also known as Chicago style popcorn. The service was fine. The popcorn however, was amazing so I ordered a small which came out $5.95 which isn't bad for the size you get unfortunately I'm not too sure how much is in this bag however it's pretty decently sized. Came in and tried several options thanks to the nice staff. Tasting a few options really helped me narrow down which flavors to include in the 2 gallon bucket I purchased. I ended up picking 3 options: white cheddar (1/4 bucket), white chocolate pretzel (1/4 bucket) and cookies n cream puffs (1/2 bucket). It was a bit pricy, but worth it since it was a gift. Wish the staff would have properly explained the return customer discount program. It wasn't that busy but they neglected to explain the sticker afixed to the bucket lid. Looks like I can get a discount if I return with my bucket and buy more popcorn or puffs. I really liked the cookies n cream puffs! I could probably eat a gallon of that by myself, which is why it was best that I didn't linger and reconsider. I thought the puffs were chocolate pretzels at first because of their shape, but puffs are definitely better.
