French dip with curly fries :)

Quick stop while on a road trip. Such a cute little spot with great food. Salad bar was delicious! Kids ordered fun breakfasts for dinner. I had the French dip and curly fries with a trip to the salad bar. Yummmm. Hubby had a BLT which looked good too. Cheap meal too and the staff was so friendly!

Perfect reflection to create patriotic truck

Still the BEST 4 cheese grilled cheese ever! Prompt, cheerful service. Family orders of tomato Basil soup, and chili with cornbread were all excellent as well. Love the hometown photos and county decor.

While I was on an overnight stop in Baker City, this place was recommended to me by a friend. This is the quintessential truck stop diner. Super friendly and quick service, relaxed atmosphere, down home American style diner food. I ordered the chicken fried steak. This came with a salad bar trip, choice of potatoes (I picked mashed), vegetables and cornbread or dinner roll (I went with cornbread). I also ordered a sprite. I soon received a huge glass of pop! I went to the salad bar as soon as I ordered. It was just okay looking, but the salad greens looked nice. The salad I made for myself was pretty solid, but the pasta salad and the broccoli were not so good. After this experience, I started to get a little concerned about the rest of my food. I needn't have worried. The chicken fried steak (I ordered the large portion) was immense, dominating its own plate. It was delicious! One of the best chicken fried steaks I've had. Not tough, nicely breaded, with good seasoning and with a yummy sausage gravy! This steak was strong on all these points, and the vast majority of ones I've had in the past fall short on at least one. The mashed potatoes were another highlight! Smooth and creamy, they had wonderful flavor and were well seasoned. More of the great sausage gravy was on top of them and it was the perfect accompaniment. The veggies appeared to be what you would find in a can, but were not too bad. I was expecting them to be inedible, but they were alright. The cornbread was rich and moist, and the butter was perfect with it. The portions were huge, so I took a sizable amount with me in a box. The service was great, I never had to ask for a beverage refill or napkins. For a solid truck stop diner, this place delivers!

Everybody yay I came into contact with was great. The food...meh. Although I was one of the only customers to have been seated and greeted and not have food, my order of corned beef hash and eggs took almost 15 minutes to be served. I could see the cook begging the counter. He was not busy. I'm not sure why my hash browns and English muffin were barely room temperature considering that they only had to travel 10 feet from the griddle to my face. But...I never had to ask for a warmup on my coffee. The locals probably love this place. I ate here once more than 15 years ago and it was great. I would give it another chance.

It sounded like something a tourist should do when you're staying in a little town like Baker. The diner is part of the motel next door which is also called the Oregon Trail. Both venues are kinda dated. I'm sure in it's prime it was fabulous! But eating at this venue was pretty cool. It was like stepping into an old school time capsule. We sat ourselves at a booth on the very left of the diner. It was probably one of the only booths where the seating wasn't all messed up. We were instantly greeted and given menus. I did creep on their online menu this morning but it was good to see what I might miss. I got the country breakfast. It had two eggs, 5 slices of bacon and I opted for fresh fruit instead of the hashbrowns. The eggs were cooked perfectly, nice and yolky in the middle. The fruit was super fresh! It was still on the unripe side but still sweet. The bacon was ok. It was slightly overcooked in the middle and chewy on the ends. It was quite the experience eating here. The servers are really nice and really good at making sure your coffee cup is always full! By the time we left, there was a good crowd of people coming in. It was cool to experience Baker's local diner. It was neat dining here with all the locals.

Coffee Corral catches your eye, then another spot slips past but Serbintos? That one sits different. Looks like a well-kept house with one of those clean U-turn driveways that practically invites you in like, "Go ahead, swing it around you're meant to be here." And when I finally did pull in, it clicked. This is what you want out here. Not the overthought, overbuilt, overcomplicated coffee experience just that smooth, no-nonsense drive-through, in and out, but still done right. There's something about being this far out that changes the equation. You stop measuring things the same way. I couldn't tell you the exact elevation, but I'll tell you this it feels higher. Not in feet, but in feeling. Like everything's been lifted just a notch above the usual grind. Out here, a good cup of coffee isn't just routine... it lands more like a small gift. And somehow, that makes it better than it has any right to be.

After checking out a few places online, we decided to head to Lattitude 45 Grille for dinner. Pulling up to the venue, you notice how updated and pretty the joint is. There are a couple tables outside and beautiful potted flowers in the front, it's quite welcoming. Walking in, we were instantly greeted. We got sat in a small room that had a couple tables. It was separated from the main dining area. I appreciate the room we were in cause it created more of a personnal environment for my friend and I. The room was bright and vibrant. I love the big windows, it gave us a great view. I did check out the menu online. I noticed they had lobster manicotti. I was sold! Pasta, lobster and sauce, you can't get better than that! We breezed through the menus again while our drinks were getting taken care of. As many times as I looked the menu over and over again, I couldn't find the lobster manicotti. The waitress confirmed that they didn't offer it anymore. Such a bummer cause it was the only thing that really caught my eye. For dinner I settled for the chicken fontana with the pesto sauce on the side. I also got alfredo as my side since it was an option. I like that they give you pasta options as a side besides your typical fries and salad. Our meals came out super hot. I got a beautiful piece of chicken and a nice portion of alfredo. I can tell the pasta was freshly made, I was pretty close to burning my mouth cause of hot it was. The sauce on the pasta was rich and creamy. I did add a little salt and pepper to it, it needed just a pinchmore salt. The chicken was flavorful! Whatever they used as a crust on the chicken, it was nice! I used some of the alfredo sauce to dip the chicken in. The chicken was good but it was also kinda dry and there wasn't much cheese in the middle. The alfredo sauce really was needed. Our sweet server got a piece of the peanut butter cheesecake for my friend's birthday. She also put a birthday candle on the cheesecake for her. Little gestures like that are the best. The cheesecake was delicious! It was the perfect combination of sweet and savory. It had a good amount of chocolate on top. There were pieces roasted peanuts in the cheesecake that added a nice crunchy texture to it. It's a must have. Lattitude 45 was packed when we were leaving. Clearly they are doing something right. Service was great. The venue is beautiful. They produce good food. I'm happy we got to check this joint out and celebrate my friend's birthday here. I don't know when we will ever be back but if we are, we will definitely come back. And hopefully by then lobster manicotti will be on their menu!
