When we first pulled up there, they didn't tip us, but I was able to look past it. Next they were out of brownie batter. And they couldn't figure out how to speak English. I think it was Chinese or maybe German, perhaps mandarin? That's beside the point. When we pulled up to the window, she only flipped one of my 7 blizzards, and I can taste the difference. I ordered a variety of blizzards and the performance varied throughout them. 3 of which were brownie bladder and they was a little runny but the chocolate and overall flavor was decent, I rate this a 7.658/10. Moving onto the Superman cake batter blizzard, the sprinklers were not quite sprinkling and it was an off shade of blue, it was more teal and I was hoping for a little bit more of an ocean blue. The flavor was great but the presence and overall ambience was off putting 8/10. The Reese's was an 8.2/10, it was a little nutty. Heavy on the pieces, lacking other reeces. DQ! Can tell this one's been around for a while! Nice to see not all food places have to be big & new. We opted to go inside instead of drive-through. This one has a tiny little lobby and seems crowded behind the counter but I love the vintage looking menu signs! Food was alright. Chicken bacon ranch wasn't even close to the billboard picture haha! But it was decent size, so I was full by the time I was through. Could have used some more lettuce & tomato though. I hate when places put one tiny little tomato and a pathetic little piece of lettuce, when the picture on the menu is bursting with big juicy tomatoes and several lush pieces of lettuce. Terrible "no service". Ordered a limited edition chocolate cake blizzard and i didn't like it. I took a bite out of it and decided to immediately go in and ask for something else (I'm 10 months pregnant and it's probably my taste buds) the manager Vanessa refused to make me something else I just wanted an Oreo one instead. She said it's their store policy and she can't do anything about it. I asked about where the customer service was and she said she was giving it to me. So I'm out the ice cream and the $3.19. Your friendly neighborhood Dairy Queen, Baker City edition. The building itself is a little run down and out of shape, but the food is as good as any. One noticeable difference in my usual "#1" was the bacon. I have come to expect rather cheap, almost Beggin' Strips quality bacon from most fast food, but this Dairy Queen used the real deal. Not sure if this is just something the local owners decided to do or if the whole chain is moving in this direction (has been a while since I've had DQ), but I'm all for it. Nothing stands out one way or another as far as the speed or quality of customer service at the drive through. I always expect a little longer wait just because they make each order fresh, and I accept this wait in return for a higher quality meal than other chains. Was one of the worst interactions I have had in a long time just because I asked how a meal that shows at 8.79 on the menu board and then adding .39 for large fry and .20 for large drink. Comes out to 10.48? The chicken strips were more like chicken nuggets or whatever was left in the bottom of the bag. The fries were cold and one box had a hair. One chicken strip box was missing the toast. The establishment its self looks a lot better on the outside and in. But the reason for the low rating is the absolute disregards to the state of the ice cream being handed out before the hot food is done. Letting it melt in the hot car. They all don't do that, some ask if they want it in the freezer. I don't see why they all can't do that and not just a handful it she be put in place from day. Also I think the food just wasn't as good as I remember. Something was missing. Still better then McDonalds. And for a place now for there fries my were lacking. I was sufficiently shocked at the horrible service and rundown conditions of this restaurant. The restroom is literally a 1950's storage room connected directly to the kitchen and the employees like to screw with you as they hang out in the restroom and keep the customer entrance locked for 20 minutes. There were only 2 other customers in the whole place and the restroom was not available the whole time we were there. And this doesn't even begin to cover the attitude exuded by the employees here. They will take your money but couldn't care less about you as a customer...oh and plan on paying (as in through the nose) for anything extra, even when you drop $30+ for dinner for 4. Can't caution you strongly enough. Stay away from this place. Is Dairy Queen corporate office even aware of this place and what is going on here? It's a mess in every way. read more

Old and tacky building way off the downtown and the modern business district. Unlikely tourists would ever find it. The single restroom, as described above, is unbelievable - think old cheap gas station. The food is OK - Dairy Queen Standard - but this restaurant could do many times the business with a modern building nearer the freeway without losing their local customers. Overall an OK place to eat. The people most of the time are very friendly. The food is about what you would expect. I don't care fit the pricing but it's that way everywhere. The remodeling on this one is kind of nice, it would be great if they could do the whole building. The only complaint I have is fur the drive through service. I expect to wait for the food but they don't even come to the window to take your money for five minutes. Then if you order food and ice cream they hand out the ice cream first! I don't know about other people but I eat my Ice cream after my meal and in the middle of summer by the time I got home it was practically melted. Not happy about it. read more
