The only reason it isn't a one, is because if you are self contained (not using their bathroom) and not having to ever speak to management, it is like any other campground. Management is very passive aggressive when they speak to you. The electrical boxes are outdated and do not include 20 amp plugs (every single other campground we have been to has had 20 amp plugs). The showers were horrendous!! I will attach pictures of the showers for you, as they are truly disgusting (I am not referring to the water stains from well water, I am referring to the true dirtiness). When you step in the shower, they have a mat on the floor and you can here dirt crunch under your feet the entire time. I truly believe they have NEVER rinsed under the mat. Once they decide to be a bit more friendly and a whole lot cleaner, they will be much better off.

It's high season for campgrounds during this time of year with everyone trying to enjoy remaining summer days and finding a good spot may pose a challenge. My girlfriend called Turtle Run and the stuff got us quickly on the books. The campground is located on the banks of Wading River and you totally get that feel that you are in the woods. Heck, I even did not have any cell coverage! For those like me looking for a way to unplug and enjoy getting back to nature consider this a great spot. Closest shopping center is half an hour away. The campground is well run and organized. A few amenities worth mentioning: - clean bathhouses (restrooms, showers) - on-site laundry - games and fun activities for kids and adults - deli offering delicious meals Accommodations vary and range from a tent site, to trailers and cabins. We stayed in a "primitive" trailer, which was $90/night and it totally hit the spot. Ample room for two people along with your personal picnic table, fire ring, grill, and a parking spot. You can buy wood from them for $5 a bundle which is a good deal.

On the weekends they sell/serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only downside is the bugs! We stayed here for the month of July, the greenheads and deer flies were terrible!! I couldn't even walk my dog without putting on a jacket with a hood. If you can suck up the bugs then def check this place out. It's got great fishing spots all over and I can't say anything bad about the 2 owners!

The weekends are jumping with some of the sites basically being built out sports bars. During the week it's much quieter. I personally love both. The park is older so the bath houses and pool are pretty dated but they are very clean and maintained nicely.

Called and Hailey helped me find a spot for three nights in the Wagon Wheel section, normally for groups. Easy hookup and facilities were dated but acceptable. A lot of seasonal campers here and everyone waived as they walked by and were friendly. Very large pool, but the weather turned cool. Easy 15 minute bike ride to Egg Harbor Train Station, where you can park your bike or bring it on board. 20 minute ride to Atlantic City, one hour to Philadelphia...if you don't have a car. There is also a $25 photo package where the crew member will take photos on a digital camera and give you a disc afterward. My 7-year-old son and I (yep, everyone except infants and pregnant women can ride) did this for the first time yesterday. There is no discount for children, though. Started off signing some waivers, and then with a short boat ride to the parasailing "section." This trip was in the bay as the ocean was "like a washing machine" according to the staff. I was on the boat with a family of 8, and they let us go first as we were rookies at this. When we got to the start, the crew decided to change the chute to the larger one, so we had a short delay of a few minutes. They set up the bigger chute, and got my son and I on the rear deck of the new 2011 boat. We during the first part of the ride were given life vests and a seating harness. With the chute fully opened and in the air, we were hooked into the caribeaners and seating. In a few seconds, we were airborn! Flying! We were anywhere from 350 to 500 feet in the air, and it was a lot of fun to see the 360' views for miles. We even were "close" enough to wave to other boats and be waved back to. You could carry on a conversation, and the breeze was nice and not loud. The boat made some zigzags and slowed down to get up and down in the chute, and you spend about 10-15 minutes in the air. Then, they pull you back and at the very end if you wish, they can dip you into the water. It can be just your feet, or up to your neck! I was surprised at how warm the bay water was. Since we went first, my son and I got to sit on the boat drying off while everyone else went - sometimes in triple, or doubles. The crew and staff were very professional, and likable. There were no problems at all with our tour. They boast a 100% safety record. The entire trip lasts about 1 to 1 1/2 hours depending on how many are in the boat going. I highly recommend going parasailing while you're on vacation in LBI! I'll be back!

You pass by wet lands and under the Route 72 Causeway (bridge) twice. Be sure to put sunscreen on and beware of the jet skiers and boats (although the jet skis are going faster, the boats create a bigger wake). Your GPS will tell you that you have arrived at Causeway Boat Rentals, but keep driving until you get to the end of the road to find Route 72 Waverunner & Kayak. Be sure to check out Mud City (make a right at the light and right at the stop sign) for a late seafood lunch / early dinner.
