Stayed here from Saturday June 8th - Wednesday June 12th 2024 with my parents as part of our long beach vacation. Very crowded and busy on the weekends. We actually arrived on saturday while the chili cookoff was going on, and i danced to the cotton eyed joe, cha cha slide, and cuban shuffle at my campsite.We also checked out the festival, and looked at local beers and chili but didn't try any. Once monday came around, everything was quiet. We had the pool to ourselves, and enjoyed it. However, maybe we had to ask or something, but am disappointed that the slide wasn't running on Monday June 10th while using the pool. It should be posted in the flyer which is given upon checkin, that during the offseason, things may not run as often. We also tried going to the camp store for firewood on Monday June 10th, but upon entering it was closed. I don't even think the galley was open either. What if someone was looking for daily specials? anyways. Pool is very warm and comfortable. RV sites are great and easy pull through. it was so easy getting in and out of the campsite. For kids, it has playgrounds, a jumping pillow, and in the pool area, a little kiddies camp where they can play. Other than rv sites, they have cabins, and tent sites. I have been a customer of Sea pirate Campground for about 15 years. Overall, I like the place. Pretty family friendly, especially for the kids. Lots of activities which can be easily found on the app. Kids activities include everything from a big bounce pillow. Sudzy sundaes on the field, inflatable water blowups. And a bucking bronco from time to time. There are two playgrounds, both of them could use a little bit of updating. There is a dog defecation park zone with a fire hydrant & mailbox too. They have a small arcade. Small gift shop. Pool goes up to 9' with a stiff diving board. (No back flips, bummer). Fishing pond. You can crab/kayak/canoe from rear property access to bay. Accommodations include tent sites, various level RV connections, and cabins. I like the cabin with 2 rooms, bathroom and kitchen the best. Not all kids are free anymore, which could be misleading from the road sit. Kids are free for the seasonal site holder registrants only, and infants. I still come back again and again. You'd have a good time too if you came. read more

e took a mini four night vacation at Sea Pirate in West Creek, New Jersey. We had a one room small cabin with a bathroom. 1. Day 1-3 no hot water. Fixed 3rd day morning. 2. Day 2 rented golf cart, bucks & backfires. Told by office, operator error, refused to replace. Replaced that night by water heater repair man who stated the carburetor needed repair. 3. Day 2 found our electronics were not charged because 3 plugs didn't work, complain to Office. One was replaced because the technician was told ONE OUTLET wasn't working. He had to come back to repair the rest. 4. Most uncomfortable mattresses if you can call them that. Only 3-4" thick! 5. Told we would be compensated for our inconvenience. So now we go to sign out & return the keys. I ask about being compensated & they tell me yes I was being compensated for one nights stay which I was happy with until I found out it was a credit for a future stay! I told them no I wanted it to be put towards this stay & they laughed at me & said they don't do that. Then I find out when I got their email that the credit expires in a year! Warning: DO NOT USE THEIR WRISTBAND FOR PAYMENTS! As a long time camper here, I was over charged hundreds of dollars. They were training new people Memorial Day Weekend 2023. I looked at the bill when I got home. I called and spoke to the manager (short haired blonde) who claimed to be part owner. She was very rude and unwilling to help! I tried to explain one teenage was brown haired and a little chubby and she hung up on me! I fully believe this blonde manager was the cause of the problem because she interrupted the "new" employee which lead to my account being left "open" and I paid for the entire line behind me WTF! Their answer was file a dispute! Never will I camp here again! read more

Bathrooms are disgusting and urinals are placed in strange areas (in regards to the men's bathroom ). The golf cart rental is very expensive. Otherwise, it's good. Update - the WiFi is terrible, and doesn't work well at all. No connection is getting through. read more

Best campground we have stayed at. Very clean. Attentive staff, relaxed family atmosphere. Large spaces. Beautiful heated pool and hot tub. Lifeguards constantly on duty walking around pool area, checking water levels. They take their jobs very seriously. Constant activities. Good food at Cafe and restrooms and showers are clean. We made reservations for this weekend to go tent camping. This was my first time so I was nervous. They made everything super simple. I have to say the showers are hot! The sites are clean. The food is good but expensive. The pool is ice cold but clean. Everyone was super friendly. There were ticks and flies so don't forget your bug spray but if you do they sell some for you. They have everything you need if you forget anything. The bathrooms were mostly clean. We did leave a day early due to it being 90 degrees and tent camping with a toddler being pregnant is hard enough. I would splurge for a cabin next time. read more

cant recommend.... bugs are horrible , gravel at the site sticks to everything and the quiet hour policy is bad they basically want total silence after 11 not even very low volume music was allowed that was bothering absolutely no one and when I questioned this was told we will just call the state police on you...no thanks not how I want to spend my vacation read more

Off to a rough start. Check in is at 4pm. I understand that. We got here early to see if the room might be ready. It was but there's a $40 charge to check in early. Hell no. I came down for one weekend and I regretted it right when I met two disrespectful people. The atmosphere was very nice. All the people camping were so nice and friendly, I made many friends while walking my dog and doing laundry. Even teenagers were friendly with my children and played with them!!! However, management is very rude. The snack staff was nice however 'Matt' and another older woman who acted like managers were very rude to me. It made me very uncomfortable and I saw Matt yell at these kids as well. I felt so uncomfortable and I will not come back because of that. I think they act like that because they both are owners. Never coming again. I wish I could report the woman who was rude, but I am unsure of the name. read more

We recently finished our third stay at Sea Pirate and my impression is favorable overall. We've rented a cabin each time. These cabins are comfy and roomy enough for our family of four plus a guest; cabins have A/C, cable TV hookups, water and electricity. WiFi is available throughout the campsite, though the signal was fairly weak in our area. The bathrooms are better than most that I've seen at other family campgrounds, and the bathroom to the back of the campground features an outdoor sink for washing dishes. The bathrooms are closed between 9 and 10 AM for cleaning, which can be inconvenient. Do be advised that the area is home to lots of mosquitos and biting flies; bug spray is an absolute must! While the rates for camping are reasonable, be prepared to pay rather inflated prices in the camp store and in the snack bar in the pool area. Beach badges for LBI are available for campers; however, a $30 cash deposit is required for each badge. I understand the need for a deposit, but the office should figure out how to pre-authorize a credit card for this purpose. This campground and its environs were severely impacted by Hurricane Sandy, and the owners and staff have done a great deal of work to get the campground ready for visitors. There are some downed trees and some muddy spots (careful where you park the car!) but overall, things were in very good shape considering the property was mostly underwater less than nine months prior to our visit. read more

Seasonal sites are not trashy. Only complaint is some if the roads are narrow for a travel trailer . Horrible experience at sea pirate campground in NJ. Manager extremely rude and mean, checked out two days early due to this. Pay close attention to the negative reviews amd notice how management never comments or cares to give a response on them. Complaints anout rudeness goes back 3 years. Not sure how they are stil in business treating customers the way they do. First and last time I will ever go there. They need to learn the meaning of quality customer service, and have a better understanding of the service industry they are in. Shame on you sea pirate for putting such a nasty person in charge. read more

This place is really geared towards parents with kids, and as two 40-50 yr old solo ladies looking for peace and quiet, it was noisy and intense. We like kids, but they were loud constantly . We did like the pool, bathrooms were clean...the trees were pretty (though the campground was pretty well stuffed with RVS , golf carts, and tents so you had to work hard to find a quiet spot to observe nature.) close to Long Beach Island but there are NO dog friendly ocean beaches from April to October...I do wish staff would have clued us in on lots of basic things like that before we booked. Bugs were super intense, but of course that's no fault of owners...(who seemed very nice) Now the bad part: the cabin we had was supposed to be a few steps from one of 3 bathrooms, receptionist told me that when I called to book, and it was a three minute walk! Big bummer. Cabin was called bare bones, and Lemee tell ya it is. There was a whole UN utilized wall where some shelves for food could have gone, a min fridge with a two foot wide table, no stools tucked under so we could I don't know, eat inside? Play a board game? Geez..stools wouldn't even take extra space. The freezer smelled like Lysol cleaner SO strongly I dared not put food in it. Obviously the person who cleaned it sprayed it directly in and let it freeze in there without bothering to clean it properly. EW! Toxic fumes. The floors had to be swept thoroughly and completely upon arrival, and it being a pet friendly cabin there were piles of dog hair and sand all over the place. (Sorry, and a TIP envelope for cleaner? Um, no...it's a postage stamp of space and totally not clean) And the BEDS:-( UGH!!! Since we were paying $100 a night, for four nights, I made sure to ask if the beds were comfortable. Staff said yes. My friend and I both had such horrible back aches after trying to sleep on those vinyl covered slabs of cement they call mattresses, we had to go to Walmart and drop 150 bucks on a memory foam topper and in my friends case a whole air mattress, because the bunk beds are too small for any adult. The door was constructed so poorly...screen door did ZERO to keep mosquitos out due to a large gap in top and didn't close properly either. The ACTUAL door was a nightmare...made a horrible scraping noise due to improper hinges for weight of door causing it to drag..and had to be latched with some godawful mid evil latch that was a total pain in the butt to deal with when carrying things in and out. We got eaten alive all night by mosquitos who snuck in due to crappy door issues. Totally unacceptable for 100 a night... read more

I have been going to this campground for 7 years. the owners take the utmost care of it. It is always clean and the facilities are great. A swimming pool w/diving board and a nice snack shop make it easy to kick back when traffic is too heavy to get to LBI. Kids activities are offered everyday and a playground is next to a great fishing pond. They offer cabins, bare tent sites, seasonal and transient sites for travel travelers. read more

Me and a group of friends from the Poconos decided to take an impromptu camping/beach trip during the week because we wanted to see some different trees. My friend brought her three kids, plus a fourth that was unexpected but brought an interesting dynamic to the group. She also enjoyed necromancy and liked fire. Check in was quick and simple (and so affordable!) and the staff was incredibly friendly. And what a great little shop! I simply adore my skull chair (only 19.99!) Our excitement grew higher as the gates rose (love all the Pirates by the way, so fun!) And we saw our little sanctuary in the woods! The kids were filled with glee when they saw the beautiful pool and enticing park! Four was just excited about fire. Our site was conveniently next to the bathroom, in what seemed to be a very private spot. We are passionate glampers! As we set up our tents and began diffusing lavender and thieves oils in each tent. We had to run to the bathroom quick, and were shocked to find marble counter tops, clean stalls, and convenient showers that ensure you get just clean enough! We loved cleaning our dishes in the convenient dishwashing area and recycling our non-alcoholic beverages each day. We were equAlly pleased with the locals, who were all so warm and welcoming. Mary, an RV owner, brought us a lovely note and a key lime pie from a local bakery, and we invited her into our dining tent, where we all shared said pie. We decided to head to the beach, and Mary had more campers to greet, so we all piled in the car and embarked on the 10 minute and simple drive to ship bottom! The beach was lovely, and clean, but we were excited to get back to our site! We left in a hurry to come home and prepare dinner. When we got back to the gate, Jerry welcomed us back and introduced himself as our security officer for our stay. He assured us that he would be looking out for us, and made us feel safe and secure. We are looking forward to the rest of our vacation, as we just got here about 12 hours ago. We will keep you informed as our glamping adventure continues! Thanks Jerry! -328 read more

Eh. Just Eh. Was okay. Booked the week of Labor Day so, you get what you get BUT...the camp store was large and well stocked. The young lady at the counter when we checked in was definitely NOT the cranky chick who took my reservation over the phone. the young lady at the counter was probably the most pleasant part of my interaction with the staff at Sea Pirate. the one I spoke to on the phone sounded like she really wasn't interested in taking my info at all. Check in is at 2pm, check out is at 1pm, which is good. Most places give you less than 24 hrs in a site. The site we got was 202, right on the playground and at the crossroads of a very busy roadway. Way too busy. We travel with our 2 dogs who are extremely well behaved and don't "need" leashes. But rules are rules...Funny how we had been there over 24 hrs and a "seasonal" camper warned me about the dogs not being leashed said that we'd get in trouble .(both were lying down on our outdoor mat in front of our trailer next to me and my husband.) Next thing you know, the guy collecting the trash chastized me for not having them on a leash. Really? I was there with them. All of us just doing what we went to do...relax. The guy in the "security" golf cart seems to take great pride in his duties throwing kids out of the playground if they were there after dark, but before "quiet hours" but seems remiss in patrolling at 7am, when there were 6 kids in there screaming while using the equipment, waking us up. 7 am is STILL IN the "quiet hours" time period. And yes, he's even used the red and blue strobe lights on top of his GOLF CART. REALLY?? Was that necessary. Couldn't make it as a cop or mall security would be my guess. The pricing was high for the site. Yes, we had W/E/S at our site. Cable channels were mostly ethnic and limited at best. They said you could rent a converter box for extra $, otherwise you got what you got... Okay.. The site was $58 per night, which really is kind of on the high end for a campsite. They are very money motivated there. EVERYTHING is either an extra charge or a high deposit. (I heard one woman upon check in say that she would have to alter her reservation, since they'd be taking all of her cash for the deposit". I presume this was a cabin. The pet charge wasnt unreasonable at $5 per pet per night. It was nice that they had doggie poo bags but, was disappointed there was no off leash play area. The lake, well.. it kind of needs a bit of help. It's a catch and release lake for fishing, which is good. I don't think I'd want to eat ANYTHING caught out of this lake. There is a fountain in the middle of it, but it's not enough to keep the water moving in this mosquito breeding ground. Now for the good points, there is a nice pool, a snack bar and ample activity fields. the premium (pull thru's ) on the other side of the baseball field are nice but the price is high at $63 per night. It is a wider spaced area, with less trees and dampness to house the mosquitos. There is a nice activity building and arts and crafts building. It is close to a lot of things and they offer beach tags for the local beaches. There is a $30 deposit on them with a $2 overage fee if you're late returning them. Again, more $$. Overall, they are very rigid in their rules. I found it interesting there are cameras everywhere so they can see where your dog poops (pick it up or you're paying $25) -no problem.I always do. It's what keeps pet friendly, pet friendly. And if you're having guests, pay the overnight charge otherwise, they gotta be out by 9pm. (even if you only have 2 ppl in your party and don't get "your money's worth" from your basic site rental. 2 adults and all children under 18 are included. Great for a family of 5 but no concessiion made for 2 adults, no kids. There is a sign that says all visitors must be paid for, tresspassers will be ARRESTED. Wow. A bit rough but rules are rules. My opinion here is really kind of mixed. It was an okay place overall.You get what you get weather wise when you camp in the summer. Many house flies seemed to be all over. Greenheads to be expected by the salt water. Wet, swampy grounds in the woods, a lot of mosquitos. I don't know that I would go back, unless I booked one of the higher end pull thru sites. It seems like a different campground all it's own over there. I will say a lot of the other campers were really very friendly though. read more

Recent visit over Fourth of July in our travel trailer. Had questions before hand which I was able to receive answers both by phone and via email. Place is impressive, roads nicely maintained, good signs. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout trip. Good location as near estuary, and stores but short drive to beaches out on Long Beach Island. We were in the new area in the back, shaded sites and well spaced out. Would definitely visit again in the future. Also liked that they maintain an active Facebook page. read more

Great family vacation spot. The pool is very nice, the staff is very friendly and the grounds are very well kept. The location is perfect, there are a number of restaurants and activities on Rte 9 and a 15 minute drive to LBI where the possibilities are endless (beach, food, waterpark, lighthouse etc). Just close enough - and just far enough away :) Pet friendly cabins with a/c are a huge plus, we have not found many campgrounds that welcome pets. Our kids had an absolute blast here, my daughter talked about it for 2 years since our last visit. They have alot of activities for the kids too, craft classes, hay rides etc. Highly recommended.... read more

I decided to stay at Sea Pirate this past weekend for one night as my son was wrestling in a beach tournament in Seaside Heights and we were meeting friends the next day on the beach in LBI. I didn't want to stay in a hotel as they are all over priced in the summer months and the noise and crowds are horrific IMHO. I attempted to call a couple days in advance so to reserve a cabin but was told they do not honor reservations for one night in advance and was told to call back the morning of our stay. I did as instructed and was told they required a CC to hold the cabin so I gave them one and instructed the associate that I planned on paying with Cash on arrival. At this time there was a hesitation on the phone and then I was told that they normally didn't do that. I said, I just want to hold the cabin until this evening and then pay cash instead of putting it on my credit card. She then said she would make a note in the computer and proceeded to tell me that check ins were at 4pm. We arrived at the campground after 4:30 after dealing with UNREAL traffic leaving Seaside heights post-beach traffic. At check in, I found that there was a $25 cleaning fee added to the cost of the room (which is not on the website) and they charged my credit card and would not refund me to allow me to pay with Cash. Their policy is to charge a one night security deposit and on a one night stay, it's the cost of the unit. It's a real shame because the campground is a very nice place with a lot of amenities, clean bathrooms/showers/pool and cabins and nice secluded spots. But, I will not be going back because of their business practices and poor customer service. read more
