The boy who sat us and was bussing tables was sweet as well. Second, food and drink. The jerk chicken plate was enough food to have leftovers and full of flavor. My husband got the chicken and waffles and the chicken was fried to absolute perfection. They also included a honey cinnamon butter that would put roadhouse to shame. The Mexican martini was yummy and strong. Lastly, ambiance. The place is a dive, but not in a bad way. In a comforting way. Did I see a guy not wearing shoes? Allegedly! I didn't even care because the vibes were good. Everyone was as easy going as the alternative rock pumping from a radio speaker in the corner. This was the kind of place I'd love to be a regular at. A few hours later when I was ready for a late lunch, I opened the box up and saw that the sandwich was a decent size. It was cut in half on an angle, and everything looked really good. Turkey, bacon, tomato, cheese and shredded lettuce. I added my own oil and vinegar. Was delicious. The bread was soft and the lettuce was crispy even when it sat in the fridge for a couple hours. I walked around and saw they had a patio. Completely covered with a roof and trees that shaded it too. The patio is huge and is shared with another business next door. Lots of space!

When I then asked if I could please have a knife (I'm seven months pregnant, for context), she started to walk to get one, took two steps, turned back and said "you can go get it yourself". It felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive, especially given how quiet the café was at the time. We stayed for a while after and watched her standing by the counter organizing utensils, so it wasn't a matter of being too busy. We really like this place and will continue coming back, but this interaction stood out in a negative way and didn't reflect the level of service we've experienced before.
