I was told this restaurant gets busy so we arrived a little before dinner rush hour and in time for their happy hour. We were seated quickly. The kids got Mac and cheese. My kid didn't really finish it. When I took a bite, it was decent. Not the best but decent. I got half of their avocado, mozzarella and tomato salad with half of French onion soup. It's the Bc combo. Had to pay extra $2.50 for the soup. A little hmmmm, because it doesn't take a lot to make the soup. However, I was happy with my plate. My stomach left feeling full and happy. Ive been here in person and ordered to go. In person is fairly nice. Wait staff is courteous, but its usually pretty busy. Its a little dark in the restaurant but food is good, lots of options. Good for families or larger parties. I would eat there in person again for sure. The to go was rough. They put a freshly cooked (hot) burger in an unvented plastic box so my bun was mush and the burger was rubbery, they offered me sides and neglected to tell me there was an upcharge so i paid $3 for some melon chunks and slimey strawberries, and you pick it up from the back where the staff, or at least the girl helping me, was not meant for customers.... We went twice (due to other restaurants being busy) and it somewhat redeemed itself. The first day we tried the French toast and the chicken and waffles. Both weren't too great and the chicken was grossly under seasoned. The waffle was serviceable and the bacon was pretty good. Went back and got the West Coast Omelette which my wife did not enjoy, even with sausage added. I kept it simple and got the Baker's Breakfast which had slightly over cooked eggs, good bacon, great biscuit, and amazing "hash browns" which I would definitely recommend getting. I had the Tito's Lemonade and it was so delicious. Not too sweet and strong enough to know you've got some liq in your cup. First time here and they really know how to treat their valued customers. Greeted and seated timely. Elana is my server and she is very polite, witty, and helpful. She recommended the bacon egg chicken on a biscuit. All of a sudden a gentleman appears with my plate - looking like the cook (and he was) Cook Gil simply says that Elana mentioned to him that I had never eatin here before. My husband and I have been to Baker's Crust several times. We always have a wonderful time whenever we go. The waitstaff are always nice, polite, and clean. It was busy and there was a 20 minute wait. I had a turkey sandwich and the home made chips. They were delicious. My husband had the Malibu sandwich with the same chips. He also had the corn and crab chowder, he liked it a lot. We had the risotto balls with pomodoro sauce and mozzarella cheese inside. That was ver delicious. We order from here weekly for take out. We dined in once and it was pleasant with great customer service. Food is consistent. Salad (Caesar Salad)-Absolutely delicious and fresh. Our server "Ilene" was genuinely kind & personable during our order and throughout our meal, always stopping by to check on us. My granddaughter and I stopped in for the first time about 1pm on a Monday and wow were we impressed. Lots of people but tables at a perfect distance so that we could gab without hearing the next table's discussion. Was surprised when the manager brought us the most delicious tomato/cheese soup and homemade chips! Granddaughter ordered an artichoke cheese pizza that was super delicious and my Belgian waffle (they serve breakfast until 2pm) was yummy too. Great variety on the menu! It almost feels like a fancy Panera: not too fancy where I feel weird in casual clothes and not too casual where I feel like I'm eating fast food haha. This is located in the heart of Greenbrier and all the little shopping centers by the mall. My dad and I had a very nice dinner here. I'd tried their tavern chips before and knew they were a must-have, so we munched on those for starters. We also sipped on some delicious cocktails during happy hour. For my meal, I opted to get two things off of the happy hour menu: the caprese bruschetta and the buttermilk chicken taco. The former was not my favorite dish. It was room temperature so the cheese wasn't melted, nor was the bread toasted well. It was soggy and disappointing. On the other hand though, that taco was delicious! Next time I'll get a full order and just have that. There was a perfect kick of heat and the chicken itself was juicy and tender. Visiting the Norfolk area and ate here two days in a row. Day 1: Caesar salad app. Nicely dressed. Great caesar dressing. Charleston Chicken & Avocado as an entree. I don't eat pork so minus the bacon. Chicken was perfectly crisp and crunchy. House made parmesan chips were great, though my favorite bites are the ones that had the honey beurre blanc on it (from chicken sandwich). Since I didn't get the bacon, it was missing something so i got a side of pickles to break up the richness and sweetness Day 2: Wine Country salad & side of french fries (freshly cut, definitely not frozen). Wine country salad was sweet (as expected by the description: strawberries, grapes, candies pecans) and paired best with a red. Nutella crepe (not the exact name) was delicious! I love the classy and well designed place. Love the metal curtains that lets the light in and yet gives a feeling of being in private fine dining. Meals are easy and well thought of. Gourmet food comes to mind. I had a date with my 25 and 14 year old daughters and both of them enjoyed it. The server is very knowledgeable and offers suggestions freely with out pressure. He comes with a smile and very complimentary adding to the pleasant and comfortable dining. Now the food, is excellent. Hubby and I came here for a late dinner on a Friday evening. They were still pretty full but luckily no wait was required. We were immediately sat down, asked our drinks, and given menus. So, I'll line by line this experience and begin by saying that if you want to eat here on a Sunday afternoon, make a reservation. My party arrived at 1:03 and were not seated until 1:41. It's a popular spot and the decor is nice. I have been to the Virginia Beach location, and I believe it is the better of the two. Food: 3.5/5 The burger tasted good; however, it wasn't a $14 burger to me. Five Guys is much better. It was good, but nothing about it stuck out. It was very mediocre in terms of flavor, and the thinness of the patties renders the meat well even if you order it medium rare. Cleanliness: 3/5 Hair on the table, slightly sticky table surface, and the bathrooms haven't been cleaned in a bit. Anytime there is no way to use a urinal without standing in pee, somebody needs to come through with a mop and sanitize the area. "Happy hour" drink specials: 2.5/5 $5 for a bloody mary sounds like a good deal, until they bring it to your table. It's a whiskey glass filled to the brim with ice, well vodka and a splash of bloody mary mix. You can down the whole thing in about five sips, as the actual liquid equates to about six ounces and I believe that is a generous estimate. VALUE FOR THE MONEY: 2.5/5 In my opinion, it wasn't worth the $50 bill we were handed for three burgers with fries, an iced tea, and a tiny bloody mary. Five Guys makes leaps and bounds better burgers, and the little pub by my house has a way better happy hour on a Sunday afternoon. Would I return? To the Virginia Beach location, yes. To this one, maybe, but I wouldn't order the same thing again. It was very unimpressive for what we spent on the meal and the cleanliness of the establishment needed some work. The following week I order the same Mediterranean salad I had but get it delivered to my house because of how much I enjoyed it. The portion sizes compared to when you go in to eat is is ridiculous. We had another great date night at this Baker's Crust! After having to leave a couple restaurants with very long wait times, we headed here and were able to get a table right away. It was a Thursday night and we learned that they have $6 pizzas on Thursdays from 4 pm to close. You can choose cheese, pepperoni, or margherita. We each chose different pizzas and ordered a side of the house Parmesan potato chips. My margherita pizza was absolutely delicious. They have a brick oven and the crust had the perfect charred spots.
