I really wanted to like this place. The staff was kind enough minus the hostess young girl who didn't know anything. They tried to help with the parking issues, 5 spaces for an entire restaurant is not enough, plus the only handicap spot is not accessible for a van. My entire family of 6 were sat right away and orders taken rather fast. I decided I wanted a waffle but also needed protein. I knew I wouldn't eat much of the waffle but my 11 year old twins would gladly polish it off, so no since I'm getting the two mini waffles and paying the extra $2 per topping. I opted for a side order of two eggs and sausage patties. The order arrived minus my waffle. I was assured it was coming right out. I waited and waited. I had also split my eggs and sausage with my older daughter as her waffle did not come with protein and I knew she would get a headache without eating protein. After all my kids were done eating and my husband only had two bites of his pancakes left, I saw the hostess walk out of the kitchen with the same waffles I ordered. She was acting strangely and slide the waffles behind the bin full of silverware to wrap. She kept looking around and then slid into the booth and started eating away but trying to hide what she was doing. Our server saw her and confronted her. She pointed at our table and the hostess just shrugged and put another huge bite in her mouth. Our server went to her supervisor who then promptly came to us to let us know my waffle was coming, a slight delay in the kitchen. Now the restaurant is almost empty at this point. Why lie. I saw the whole debacle go down with the hostess. My husband even pointed it out and the supervisor replied with oh no, we had two orders in for the same waffle. Really! It's been almost 30 minutes and my food didn't come out. Really! I informed her I was done and no longer wanted the waffle. The server brought it out a few minutes later, and informed I wasn't being charged for the waffle. I had her box it up as I was done and paying. I never ate the waffle, we had drove over an hour to try this place. I won't go back. The food was subpar and nothing to rave about. It's just sad that they have a hostess who wants to shove food in her mouth and staff who are not honest. I will just continue to enjoy the hospitality and great food at Not Another Pancake House in Williamsburg where people always have a smile and care about their customers. read more

Walked in on a Sunday morning. We were greeted by a nice lady in front. The place has an open layout with some nice decors on the walls. Food was fine. Nothing fancy. The breakfast plate comes with 2 eggs, choice of bacon, sausage, ham or corned beef hash with grits, toast, or fries. An option to add 2 pancakes as sides for additional $3.99 is there. Wavy gravy steak waffle is also decent though not very flavorful. It's a fried steak with country style sausage gravy with some scallions on a Belgian waffle. Service was very good. Our server Lexi was super nice and friendly. Everyone was very nice and personable. The lady who served my food (different from Lexi) told me that she was the one who invented the recipe for the wavy gravy steak waffle and she was nice. read more

We arrived and was seated immediately before 10:00 a.m. Jessica was our server and she was fabulous. Great attitude! Awesome Smile and she checked in occasionally. The pancakes weren't the fluffiest but they were executed to a sweet and thin delight. We had somebody order the filet a fish basket, and they devoured it all. With crispy fried fish and well seasoned tater tots it was a sure score. Another patron in our party ordered the filet of fish basket with french fries and the french fries were even better than the tater tots and seasoned just as well. Almost seasoned better than the fish. The very Berry waffles had just enough blueberry, strawberry, banana and whip topping. It was sooooo easy to finish. The kids meals are worth the price and an adult could be filled off of one of these. Coffee was great! Service was great. Food was great. Thank you Jessica for the fabulous smile and service. Went here Sunday around 11 am, no wait time though it was decently full inside. Quickly served right after being seated and the waitress was very friendly. I ordered the Steak and eggs (7/10), my steak was pretty good; cooked medium like I asked and decently seasoned, the home fries were decent, but the eggs had absolutely no flavor at all. I did get to taste their Western omelette and that was very flavorful and yummy, so sucks that my side of eggs weren't seasoned at all. I also ordered two mini Belgian waffles on the side (8/10). I visited Atlantic Waffle Company twice during my stay at Virginia Beach, both days we did take out. The ambiance is clean wooden tables with picture of musicians. To eat I ordered the Belgian Waffle Breakfast, two mini waffles, eggs, bacon and potatoes. The waffles were hard and cold , the rest of the food was good. Next day, I had the Beach Lover, bacon. eggs and pancakes. The pancakes were good , freshly made. Customer service : 5/5 Every encounter with staff was amazing ! After placing my order, I requested sugar free syrup, they didn't have sugar free syrup to go so the hostess went to the back and filled a cup with a generous amount of syrup for me. read more

We happen to come upon this place while looking for a breakfast spot. It is located off of Atlantic Avenue near 27th St. in Virginia Beach. The hostess was friendly and we were seated immediately. Cute spot right on Atlantic in VA Beach for breakfast and lunch. Nice and clean. They're pretty busy but move folks through decently quickly. Staff is super friendly. It took our food about 30 minutes to come out, but it was pretty tasty. I had the Belgian Waffle breakfast which was tons of food. The eggs were tasty, home fries not at all greasy, grits solid (I got grits since I don't eat meat), and the waffles were so crispy and delicious. It was the perfect combo of food. Just what I was craving! My friend got the Chicken Philly and enjoyed it. It's grilled chicken so a healthier option. The fries were super crispy and tasty. Definitely recommend. read more

Stopped by Atlantic Waffle for breakfast. Service was amazing. We were seating quickly and ordered our food which also came out quickly. Everything came out hot and was pretty good! Our server really stood out to me. She was so kind, funny, and friendly with my family. She also helped me pick out an omelette. I ended up ordering the Greek omelette with sausage which was great! The price came out to be a little above your average but that is to be expected by the beach. The restaurant is roomy so you don't feel crowded. This restaurant was RIGHT across the street from the hotel we're staying in so it was really convenient. The wait time was a little long however, it was CROWDED so that's to be expected but the food was GREAT and worth the wait. Our server (along with the rest of the staff) were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was bright and roomy. I had the Greek omelette with a side of mini waffles and my bonus daughter had the Belgian waffle with bananas (fresh sliced) topped with whipped cream. The only complaint that I have is that it was almost as warm in there as it was outside. I felt for the staff because had to work in that heat. I would MOST CERTAINLY visit again the next time I'm in the area. read more

Atlantic Waffle Company makes regular breakfast in a spacious restaurant close to the beach. There's what looks like seating for nearly 100 in booths and at tables that can be combined to seat probably 20 or so together. Service was quick and cheerful. The walls are decorated with portraits of musicians from many decades, which we used as a memory game while dining. We had avocado toast, nice and creamy and crispy and pretty generous. We had an omelet which was bursting with fillings and not greasy from the pan. Coffee was hot and our table server kept the cups full. Overall, we were well taken care of and well fed with pretty healthy food. It was about the price it ought to be, that close to the beach. I know i'm not raving about the place, but we were really there for the beach. It was convenient, good, and prompt. And the endless coffee was spot on! read more

You walk into a big room that is very loud. Nothing muffles the noise in this place. It's clean and sparsely decorated which is perfectly fine. Party of 2 was seated right away. They were doing good business for breakfast at 11am. Shockingly the menu had a small amount of waffles on it and the "breakfast platters" all had pancakes. Except the one we ordered. The mini waffles were laughable and for the extra charge we should have just gotten pancakes except we came looking for waffles. The server was nice but not particularly friendly. The waffle with blueberry "compote" is the globby stuff you get out of a can. Nasty. The breakfast platter had tasteless unseasoned eggs and sausage. The free hotel breakfast was better. Not impressed and would not recommend to anyone to visit for anything. I'm writing this literally in the restaurant and can't wait to pay and get out of here. read more

Came in and was immediately greeted by a gentleman who got me seated. Diane waited on me and was quick to swing by and get my drink order. Returned just as fast with the water and was informative about the menu. I ordered the waffle Bennie, as I wanted to try out one of their specials. My food arrived quickly and looked quite tasty. The tots were by far the best part. The waffle was soft with no real crunch, the egg while perfectly poached lacked salt, the Canadian bacon was a bit chewy, and my brain was very confused as the waffle is definitely sweet while the rest is savory. The hollandaise was bland. Diane was absolutely amazing and got me a new order of chocolate chip pancakes with bacon and eggs. The pancakes were fluffy and full of chocolate goodness, the eggs and bacon cooked perfectly. Diane checked in a few times to make sure I was doing okay. A good way to finish my very long evening. read more

The restaurant has a great oceanfront location and the food was good, but our experience was significantly impacted by how staff handled my service dog. We initially sat outside, but constant biting flies made it difficult to enjoy our meal, so we moved inside. Shortly afterward, an assistant manager approached us and attempted to remove us because of my service dog. My dog was clearly identifiable as a service animal, quietly lying at my feet, fully under control, and not bothering anyone. As a Disabled Veteran, I should not have had to explain ADA service animal laws in order to eat breakfast. The burden should not fall on guests to educate restaurant management about federal disability protections. What should have been a happy and memorable morning before my wedding became stressful and upsetting. The issue was eventually resolved, and we were allowed to remain, but only after I had to advocate for my legal rights. Because of that experience, we chose not to return to dine inside the restaurant for the remainder of our stay. The food and location were good, but the lack of service animal awareness by management seriously detracted from the experience. I strongly recommend additional ADA and service animal training for all staff so future guests do not experience the same treatment.

I believe they have a cornhole section and from what I could tell, an area that could be really fun during the warmer months. The overall vibe is so quirky, cool, different, and I just love how it's decorated. The other locations have the same sort of intrigue but in much different ways. I still love the OG Bay Local and probably need to visit there again to be reminded of why we fell in love in the first place, but the location on General Booth... hard to beat, especially being so close. Another positive is the food quantity, quality, and price for what you are getting. Sure, almost every food establishment had to raise their price, but Bay Local seem to be very reasonable, ESPECIALLY for what you get. I know several other places that have good food, but you are paying several dollars more for what Bay Local offers that is similar (in some cases) but not slacking on portion control and quality. That is huge! Bay Local is a "well-oiled machine" with management, staff, and operations (not their first rodeo). The staff are attentive, friendly, fast in service, including fixing anything that may not have been correct, and still hold the quality of what they offer. Congrats to a great establishment, and it will remain on the top slots of our brunch list!

(The sign inside said it would be $2.00) Upon parking in the parking deck, you have to take the elevator to the 23rd floor. Some of the elevators do not work and you will not be able to get to the 23rd floor to the restaurant. Good luck and I hope you find the right elevator. We had reservations but they were not ready for us. We barely fit in the tiny space where they sat us, so they had to move some of us and then some of us had to move again. I ordered the short rib udon and the soba sushi. Both were meh. The short rib udon was more fat than anything else. The food was also incredibly expensive considering the quality and the portions. The service was ok. I would go back from drinks, but I will definitely pass on the food.

One piece of advice: arrive a little before Happy Hour begins at 3:00 p.m. If you wait until then, you'll likely find yourself several people deep in line. Don't let that discourage you. Embrace it, because once you're seated you'll quickly discover that the wait was well worth it. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the prices--especially during Happy Hour--are outstanding. The Atlantic specializes in oysters, and their Happy Hour runs daily from 3:00-6:00 p.m., including weekends. We began with a Chopped Caesar Salad ($9). Every ingredient was crisp, fresh, and flavorful--a simple dish executed exactly as it should be. Next came the oysters: a dozen Rockefeller and a dozen Pacific. The Rockefeller oysters were everything you would expect from this classic preparation--rich, savory, and baked beautifully. The Pacific oysters, however, completely stole the show. Each oyster was topped with a delicious combination of chorizo sausage, pepper jack cheese, and seasonings before being baked to perfection. They were bold, flavorful, and easily my favorite item of the afternoon. I also ordered the Double Stack Cheeseburger ($7), and what a terrific value. The burger arrived piping hot, loaded with melted cheese, and accompanied by a generous serving of crispy fries. It's hard to imagine finding a better burger at that price anywhere along the Oceanfront. My wife ordered the pork, shrimp, and kimchi dumplings served with a chili crunch and ponzu sauce that tied the entire dish together beautifully. She jokingly threatened to drink the remaining sauce after finishing the dumplings (she didn't), but she did convince me to dip one of my fries into it. She was absolutely right--it was fantastic. In fact, I now regret turning down the dumpling she generously offered me. Part of the fun of dining here is watching Shuck-Master Slim work. He's not only remarkably skilled but entertaining as well, adding a little personality to an already enjoyable experience. From the fresh seafood to the outstanding value and friendly atmosphere, this was another memorable visit to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. If you haven't been to The Atlantic on Pacific, I highly recommend adding it to your list. You'll be glad you did, and you can rest assured that you're helping support one of our outstanding local restaurants.
