The hubby loves this place-evidently a local favorite to get a hotdog, hamburger, etc. We went on a Friday around noon and it was busy but still a table open for us. We were greeted as we walked up to the door and the young server held the door. We ordered at the front, found our table and it was a short wait before it was delivered to our table. The inside is decorated with Clemson memorabilia. Server was very friendly. The hubby ordered the large hotdog deal meal and I ordered the small hotdog meal deal. (Pay as you leave.) Food to me was average but the friendly service and local ambiance and supporting a local merchant made it a fun place to stop. read more

Service great! Food fair. Hot dogs Inc chili was barely warm. Even asking for xtra onions I could find hardly any. Fries were GREAT, hot and fresh. When we travel we like to visit locally owned eateries because we have more memorable experiences. Baker's Dogs was indeed enjoyable. It's apparently been around for over 20 years and it felt like we stepped back in time. There were plenty of interesting choices. Orders were recorded on a paper tablet. The lady at the counter was delightful and greeted many patrons by name. She treated people like family. The decor is simple with lots of Clemson University paraphernalia. Our hots dogs were all tasty and satisfying. We liked the fries too. Don't go here expecting a gourmet experience but rather an easygoing stop for some decent fare that differs from the nearby fast food chains. We would definitely return. read more

Sorry but no. I expected high quality hot dogs for a hot dog place. They were small flavorless soggy mess. I got them to go and they were wrapped in parchment paper which only aided to the soggy mess. The hot dogs themselves tasted like the cheapo Sam's club hot dogs.... Hate leaving bad reviews but they really need to upgrade the quality. I will say the people were very nice. read more

First time visit here and tried the corn dog. Couldn't eat it. Tasted like old frying grease and had to blot off the grease. Had a weird taste. The place was busy with local repeat patrons. The carpet looked about 20 years old. People were nice but that's all that was good. read more

Came to Baker's on a tour of Upstate Hot Dog joints. I arrived at Baker's late afternoon on a Saturday and found the place empty. The woman at the counter was extremely kind and patient as I reviewed the menu. She could not have been any more welcoming to each and every customer who came up. As other mentioned, she makes you feel like family. I decided to try the Sooner Dog (mustard, slaw, and french fries on the dog). The idea of fries as a hot dog topping sounded awesome; tangy mustard, sweet slaw, and salty crunchy fries. YUM. When the dog came out there, I knew I would be disappointed. The crickle cut fries looked like they were straight from the Ore Ida bag and lacked the color to tell me they would be crispy (they weren't). The flavors were still ok but I missed the texture of crunchy fries. On this trip the Sooner Dog got 2 stars, and the hospitality earned Baker's the extra one. read more

Thought I would try this place to see what they have on the menu. Decided to get a Chicago dog and fries. The elderly lady at the cash register was pleasant and this place is very old school, using the paper order pads like in the1920 . Ordered take out as who ever was there just starred at you while you wait for your meal,. Ok a local joint. Finally got order, left the place to eat what they gave me. So they have no clue what a Chicago dog is, pickles vs spicy pepper and celery ceded, yet this their business and the Cold dog rather hot dog was cold, really this is your speciality, lazy ass. Ok to the fries, in a bag were warm, yet there was sooooo much salt on them, had to brush off salt in order to even eat them. Sorry I'm from the north and lived here 20 years. Favorite place for a hotdog, period. Friendly staff, make you feel welcome. Chili tastes delightful, and the Franks are cooked to perfection. Before coming here I thought Skins was the place to go but I was mistaken. This place changed my life. Gave me meaning. I wish I could float away in a river their dogs, ending up in an ocean of love and happiness. The insides were clean and they also support a take out option so when your hungry family wants a bite, order them some to go.
