Well, we stopped at the Waffle House in Garland, Tx, last Friday morning, Next to it was Baker's Ribs and It smelled amazing. On our way home we stopped in and the rib plate was Monday's special. Omg it was phenomenal! They also have a habanero bbq sauce that was great. You have to try this place !!!!!

Went back to my old stomping grounds while I was in Texas this weekend. My Husband LOVES BBQ so I took him to one of my favorite places in Garland. I could almost see the drool shimmering off his mouth when we walked in. You're automatically hit with the most wonderful smokes smell in the world. The specials that had that night was amazing, my son got 3 sloppy joes for $7.00 and they are HUGE. Still have one in the fridge haha.. Husband got his usual 2 meat brisket and ribs and I got the ribs and smoked sausage.. was everything I remembered and more. I love you wished we had good ole Texas bbq here in Louisiana. Maybe I'm biased being a native Texan and all LOL

The cement animal that I was talking about.

OOooh Francesca beat me to it! So we were bored on a Sunday afternoon and we decided we should check this place out after debating where we should eat for nearly 30 minutes. The selection of sides were pretty good I just wish 3 veggies was part of the meat combo. Here, you get to pick the sides first and then they hook you up with the meats. For my sides I had the cole slaw, which was nice and crispy, but I was unhappy since I'm always looking for the taste that KFC and Church's produces. I am I expecting too much? As for my other side I selected the scalloped potatoes which were so cheesy and buttery. I suggest that you eat this first before you get disgusted by it's stiffness after it cools. For my meat selection I had the spicy sausage, which wasn't spicy at all and tasted kinda like Eckrich's smoked sausage with pepper flakes, the brisket which was nearly "chopped beef" after playing with it on my plate, and the ham was just fine. Bread selection like Francesca says is kind of disappointing. No fresh bread baked on premises. At least when we were there. So I had some of the wheat bread that they had wrapped up in film. After my brother finished off his bread from making his own little bbq sandwiches, he went to get some more. This time his slices were stale. He could have been eating toast. I liked the decor of this place(for a BBQ joint) really Southern-ish. Texas flags on the backs of the booth cushions, varmint traps on the walls, cement farm animals outside in their "rock garden."

It is awesome pulled pork sandwich and cherry fries pie.. keep it up

This was awesome all around. Moist brisket, great sausage and off the chart potato salad and rolls. Wish we had one up north - just sayin.

Six boudin balls and banana pudding. Starting with the dish that was the least appetizing, the garlic toast/ bread had no garlic spell or taste just butter taste. 2nd least favorite is the expensive banana pudding . I have had much better banana pudding with no bananas from another restaurant. I would have rather had more than 5 mini vanilla wafers instead of the cool whip topping . $7.99 for that never again . The French Quarter dish was dropped off it was received warm from the doordash dasher . Everything was seasoned well , the shrimp etoufee is a tad bit spicy but it isn't overwhelming. I wish they provided at least two catfish fillets instead of just one . . I didn't want any hushpuppies but there is no choice to decline them. Boudin balls are good. I am from Louisiana been living in Dallas-Fort Worth over 24 years now . I enjoy well cooked cajun meals . Portions large enough for leftovers

I had to get the Pitmaster Platter sooo delicious. Mac and cheese and green beans were the tasty. Also tried the millionaire bacon wrap ribs, i wish the ribs had more meat. Love the patio. Chicken-fried brisket is the star of the show here, and it's every bit as legendary as the hype…read moresuggests. I went specifically for their signature dish (the one they proudly call themselves the "Home of the Chicken Fried Brisket"), and it delivered exactly what everyone raves about. They take a thick, oak-smoked brisket slice--already juicy, tender, and loaded with smoky flavor and perfect bark--then coat it in a craft-beer batter and fry it up. The crust comes out shatter-crisp and golden, never greasy or soggy, while the brisket inside stays beefy and moist. That peppery burnt-end gravy poured over the top is rich, savory, and ties everything together beautifully with a scoop of skin-on mashed potatoes on the side. It's pure Texas comfort food genius--smoky BBQ meets Southern fried steak in the best possible way. I'd order it again in a heartbeat (it's a Tuesday special or weekend brunch treat, so plan accordingly). The rest of the BBQ holds up just as strong. Their regular brisket (flat and point) is consistently juicy, tender, and smoky with that killer bark everyone mentions. Sides and other meats are solid too--no weak links. The house beers are fantastic and pair perfectly with the rich, smoky food (the rustic, woodsy vibe in the historic downtown Garland spot makes it even better for lingering over a pint). Service is friendly and the whole place just feels welcoming. If you're in Garland or nearby and love bold Texas BBQ with a creative twist, Intrinsic is a must. The chicken-fried brisket alone is worth the trip--don't sleep on it! Highly recommend for anyone who wants great smoked meats, great beer, and something uniquely delicious
