Dogs love it! Woods & trails...Be Careful during hunting season ...otherwise great place to hike.

We recently boarded our two adult dogs here. We had never utilized a pet hotel in our many years of having dogs, so we were a bit nervous. As soon as we met Sean, we knew that we could relax and totally trust him to take amazing care of our beloved animal companions. Sean is so warm, calm, helpful, conscientious, and compassionate towards animals. He went above and beyond to help our dogs feel at ease. He even took the initiative to do some training with them regarding one's food guarding issues. When we returned from our trip, Sean shared these training techniques with us, which was very helpful. He gave us an honest report on our dogs' time at the pet hotel, seeing our dogs in a really kind and optimistic light. In addition, the facility is clean and offers indoor/outdoor kennels. We requested that our dogs share a kennel. All animal guests also receive loving attention from Sean and daily, private time outside in a large, fenced area. The location is very tranquil. We will definitely board our dogs here again and highly recommend Bakers Ridge Pet Hotel to others. read more

My golden and saint went in on a short notice booking, and I couldn't be any happier with this place. My boys went in and came out healthy and actually a little fatter. This place is in a perfect location for peace and quiet for your pups with indoor/outdoor kennel setups and regular playpen time with other guests....except for butthead Saint Bernards like the one I have who doesn't play well with anyone. I haven't tried all the places in this area, but I'd put my puppies up here any time! Thank you!!!!!!! read more

Communication is a problem with this business. Very disappointed with my experience with this business. I've boarded our dogs with them over the summer and it went well. This time, however, September 2023, our flight time was moved. I tried notifying the boarding facility right away to see if we needed them picked up or if they were ok for one more night. We wouldn't be back in time to pick up our dogs at the agreed upon time, so I messaged on Facebook, our usual mode of communication, a day before pickup to see if we needed to have someone pick them up or if they were ok to stay one more night. No one responded. I called the next but was unable to reach anyone. The mailbox was full, so I couldn't leave a VM either. Our entire family was also on the trip so no one would be available to pick our dogs up unless an extreme emergency. After calling at least four times through the day, I finally received a VM around 5:30pm from the gentleman taking care of our dogs saying that pickup would be between 4-7. I was confused because I wanted to tell him this wasn't possible, and I needed to see if we needed absolutely friends to pick up our dogs or if we could keep them one more night. I wanted to be respectful of the fact that it was the weekend and he may have been booked up, but if we didn't have to have friends from an hour away pick up the dogs, we wouldn't have to inconvenience them. By the time I reached this message, however, it was 6pm and we were still two hours away from this location and I wasn't able to arrange a friend to pick up our dogs.. I messaged the Facebook account to let them know of the issue and that we would be there right at opening to get our dogs. At this point, having no communication with the establishment for over four days, I was scared that there was an issue or one of our dogs had run off. I arrived at 7:45am the next morning. I called at 8am and no one picked up again and no one was at the building. I called another number I had from earlier in the summer. A very nice lady picked up and said that the gentleman would be right down. The man taking care of our dogs was walking down the hill at 8:15am and chastised me all the way to the front door for calling the previous owner. I had no idea the establishment changed hands. Upon entering the door, he proceeded to tell me how my one dog was bullying the other. I told him, I would prefer to just take my dogs and leave. He walked away from me and said something to the effect of "there's no need to be..." and I couldn't hear if the ending of the phrase, but I felt very insulted. I also appear to be banned from their Facebook account through which I have had no interaction. I am really bewildered by this experience. If there's an issue with your travel or with your dog, I would fear that you'd receive no communication from this establishment. read more

If you are searching for a safe, friendly and overall great boarding facility for your dog in Morgantown, look no further! I had been searching for a kennel for quite awhile and came across Bakers Ridge Pet Hotel. After having to take a very last-minute trip out of town, I decided it was a good time to try out this facility and I am so glad I did! Rodger, the owner, was very accommodating of my last-minute request and was so incredibly friendly. During drop-off, he welcomed my girl with open arms, and assured me that my pup would be in good hands making me feel confident in leaving her. Each dog has an individual kennel with an individual space to walk outside. Rodger also takes dogs outside individually to a fenced-in area to run, which is fabulous. His prices are reasonable and my pup was in great spirits when I picked her up following my trip. I will definitely be returning and overall, I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quaility, friendly boarding facility. read more

Rodger truly loves dogs and is compassionate to them and plays with them when owners away. He is more than affordable and the first day I left my animals with him I caught him playing with them after I remembered one additional thing to drop off with him - great guy great place,great price and real care! read more

The gentleman that works here truly cares about the animals. We have brought our dog a few times and this last time he decided not to charge us, since our dog had such bad separation anxiety. He said he is such a great dog and that he would allow him to sit next to his desk while he would work, but once he would be in the large kennel area he would freak out. The gentleman said he wants the money to go towards medication to help him with his separation. So thankfully tomorrow we have his vet appointment to get him on some medication to help with his separation anxiety! read more

My husband and I recently boarded our babies with Jeff at Bakers Ridge. They were there for a week. The dogs are great dane show dogs. (One adult and one 7 month pup). The dogs were very expensive and we've invested quit a bit into each dog. I'm always alittle apprehensive about boarding, but I felt very confident with Jeff after meeting him and seeing his facilities. The facilities are basic BUT VERY clean. Make sure you talk with Jeff about what type of bedding to bring. We sent each of our dogs with their own food prepackage --each meal in a zip lock bag. That way I knew how much my dogs were getting per meal and there was no confusion. My pup had diarrhea after arriving at the kennel (lots of dogs do that). Jeff handled that situation exactly how we would've handled it. He had great judgement on dealing with our dogs quirks. Bakers Ridge has a huge fenced area where the dog exercises and each kenel has an outdoor run. The dogs are not permitted to interact unless they come from the same home.. That keeps your dog safe from other dogs. This was very important to me because our dogs are "intact" sexually. When we picked up our dogs we could tell they'd been SUPER well cared for. They had bonded to Jeff. Our male seemed to wish he could stay with Jeff. They dogs were happy and safe. Jeff did everything he could to continue they dogs regular routines. His prices are very fair (I think he should charge 30% more than he does. My husband and I would trust Jeff again with our babies. He did a wonderfull job with our dogs read more
