Went for a long time. Dogs acted terrified to enter the building. I should have listened to them. They never got used to it. Staff always unfriendly. Asked for tips prior to seeing the dogs. Last straw was my dogs ears glued and no communication as to what happened. I think they probably cut both ears. Will never go here again. read more

I wanted to try a new grooming place for my dog. They did a decent job on cutting his hair and trimming his nails. However, there are a few spots that had been missed resulting in a few patches of hair. When i first arrived, i was hit with an overwhelming smell of pee. This wasnt a big deal, because that is to be expected from a facility that tends to animals. I walked in and the 3 people standing behind the counter just looked at me. I was not greeted with welcoming faces. Just mad blank stares. After i has signed in, i had explained that my dog had anxiety towards other dogs ( they bring their personal pets to work). The lady was not very kind when i told her this, yet she did still accommodate me with my furbaby's needs. Overall, the service was ok. I just didn't feel like the workers were happy to be providing these services. Because of this, i do not think i will return. read more

I gave this place 2 chances! This last one was the final straw. Please check on your dogs thru the cameras! I caught one staff member kicking my dog! I was told it 'it wasn't that bad' !!! Like any level of pushing a dog with your foot is ok! Not 'pampered' at all. Sad this didn't work out but I worry for the puppies there now. FYI -just checked and some dogs are locked outside in the heat! They shut the door on them :( read more

I have a regular place in Parkersburg that I take my dog to called Village Groomer but they were so busy with the pandemic that I decided to find a place in Morgantown. I did an online search and found this place, selecting them mostly because they had training and daycare that I thought I would try if the haircut went well. They told me when I called that I could bring him in for a nail trim the week before since his nails were getting long and then they would do his grooming the next week. I took him in for the walk in and filled out the paperwork while he was getting his nails trims. Long story short, I warned them that he is very nervous and hates getting his nails trimmed. They, one lady in particular who needed up getting scratched, made a very big deal about his nervousness. This woman made sure to show me the scratch and they said they only got 3 Paws done. They also let me know that they didn't try to put him in the sling and that it took 3-4 people to hold down my 20lb dog. Mind you, when my boyfriend and I cut his nails, I held him down by myself and my boyfriend cut them. It isn't that difficult. And if you have a sling for that purpose, why not use it? They also tell me he is very dramatic bc he whined/screamed while he was in the back. They also cut 2-4 of his nails too short and he bled. So his grooming appointment came around and I took him in and the lady who I think was in training immediately opened the gate and tried to take him back. She tried pulling him with the leash and harness and he was very nervous and kept looking at me and pulling back to me. The other woman that was there promptly pulled her sleeve out and showed me the scratches from his previous nail trimming and how they were bruising. Then she proceeded to pick my very nervous rescue up while he attempted to nip at her because she was a stranger picking him up and he was extremely uncomfortable. As she was putting him in the waiting area she told me that if he continues to behave this way they won't be grooming him anymore. Mind you this was his first appointment with them. So I stood there after they took him back waiting for them to tell me how long it would be or ask me what kind of cut I wanted. But they both sat there for about a minute and then told me 'We have your information and we'll call you when he is done!'. It was very dismissive so I figured they knew what they were doing and didn't need direction from me. I left. 2.5 hrs go by before I get a call from them saying he is ready but needs 30 more minutes to dry. I show up 20-25 minutes later and the same lady who got scratched is there. She begins preparing me. She says he wouldn't let them trim his pad hair or his paws so that's still long. She said that he was very cooperative with the scissor cutting near his eyes which was surprising. And then she said he wasn't cooperative with much else. She also said that since we didn't talk about the length his hair should be, they didn't take off very much because he didn't have any matting. But it is the middle of summer and I was about to pay $70 including tip for a patchy trim at best. If you look at the pictures you can see where the cutting on his face, which she said was easy and he cooperated for, is extremely uneven. Some portions are short running down his snout and some are long. His body hair is barely trimmed at all. The only thing I like about the cut is that they trimmed his tail and that they trimmed his face around his eyes so he can see. They also shaved the hair on his butt right down the middle which looks absolutely ridiculous and I'm worried the hair will grow back funny. Please don't take your pet here. They are extremely rude and unkind. They don't know what they're doing and you WILL waste your money. read more

They have done basic trims on our golden foster dog making our daily life so much better! They just saved our dog from a toxic situation, doing an emergency Last minute Sat. Night cut after said Golden got into oil based stain! What a mess! Riki recognized the problems immediately and not only saved dog but how on earth does a golden look good without hair?! The new staff are bathers who learned to groom. They do not know what They are doing and they are MEAN to dogs. read more

I took my dog here to be groomed in November and they did an excellent job. I took him back today and it was a complete 180, he has NEVER looked this bad. I don't know if they've gone through a staff change or what, but what I do know is that my dog will never be groomed here again. Not only did they not follow my very specific instructions but my dog's shaved down hair is uneven and so short that it's shedding (he doesn't shed ever). AND ON TOP OF THAT he is noticeable shaken by this experience. I'm not sure if something happened that I wasn't aware of but he is not acting like himself after this appointment. I'm so upset and so is he! read more

We have taken our dogs there to have their nails trimmed before. Needed to board them for the first time ever for just one day and one night. When we dropped them off, the girl (and I mean girl--very, very young looking) was not friendly or engaging. When I explained to her that this was the first time for boarding them, ever, she didn't discuss anything about what their day would look like, or try to comfort me or my daughter, or the dogs, all who were pretty anxious. When I returned for them, they forgot to bring out their blankets we had left, and when we asked for them, they brought them to me, covered in poop and black dog hair (my dogs are brown and white) and just handed them to me, with poop and all--didn't even put them in a garbage bag or anything. The dogs smelled absolutely horrible, we didn't even let them in the house, just washed them outside on the front lawn before letting them in. Within a week of having them home, they both began back sneezing and coughing, and hacking. Yup. Despite having been vaccinated, they got kennel cough. I know that this can happen, and like a child who has never been to daycare, they get sick the first time you take them (no immunities built up). Though this is upsetting, it is not the reason for the bad review. The staff being unfriendly, uncomforting, and caring so unprofessional is the reason why I will not take my dogs back for boarding or any of the other services they offer. :-( read more

We are so happy our puppies got the chance to spend some time at Pampered 4 Paws! We were in town visiting family for the holidays and decided to do an afternoon drop off to give them some doggie daycare and play time. Registration was quick and easy. Our puppies got to run and play. And now as we complete the 4 hour drive home, they are happily snoozing in the car! Thank you so much Pampered 4 Paws! My two dogs spent a wonderful six weeks in dog daycare (and occasional boarding) here. I cannot think of a better pet-oriented business anywhere. The staff are caring, kind, accommodating, and love the dogs. Check-in and checkout are done efficiently. The location is convenient and beautiful. Our dog has been going to daycare here since he was three months old. He loves it! We've gone to both locations. The staff and Riki have always done what is best for him - I'll never forget when there was an ice storm and we couldn't make it up their road, they let all the dogs stay over, and Riki stayed the night with them! Also, if Merlin gets TOO gross playing, they'll often give him a quick wipedown so he doesn't smell awful when we get him home. read more

Horrible ownership. Riki is the most unprofessional woman I've dealt with in a very long time. I would never subject my furchild to this establishment again. If you care about your pet and want to deal with people who treat clients with atleast an once of respect, find someplace else. read more
