I wish I left more reviews for quaility companies that deserve it. However most of us are so consumed with our daily tasks that we forget to help those who have provided us superior service. I can truly say that my travertine floor was so disgusting, I was considering ripping it out and replacing it with ceramic tile. However I thought I would look into the cost of cleaning it polishing it to see if it could be restored. This company stood out above the rest in terms of their knowledge specifically with stone cleaning; so I asked them for a bid to make my floor look "new" again. I was a little hesitant due to the amount of money it was going to cost to restain all of my grout & high-polish the travertine; but I knew my only other option was to replace the floor which was going to cost much more. My wife thought I was crazy for spending hundreds of dollars to clean the floor; yet I remained optimistic. One of my co-workers actually laughed when I told him how much I was spending to clean my travertine. I can tell you that their laughter turned into amazement when they saw the before & after of my floor. If I would have known just how good my floor would look after their treatment, I would have never hesitated in hiring them. They brought 3 or 4 quality workers to my house last Thursday and spend 9 hours working on roughly 900 square ft. of travertine. When I came home and looked into my house I was extremely shocked and impressed. I never truly realized my floor's potential; it legitimately looked like a new stone floor. Amy did a thorough walk of our home to address the issues we had with damaged travertine and problems with the travertine tiles in our master bath. We decided to proceed with the work fully anticipating an $.00/SF cost to remove an existing coating on the tile. Tom and Amy work with me on scheduling the work beginning early on a Friday morning, earlier than their normal work hours. Their very professional and polite crew of young men arrived on time, prepping pathways and install wall protection. The team lead tested the surfaces first for coatings explaining what they would have to do should there be any. Fortunately there were no coatings adn work began at teh Master Bathroom the most distant part of the work. The team worked tirelessly from 7am until 3:00pm without a break! teh floors look fantastic. all the pitted tiles are repaired and the shower looks new. They even stained grout lines in some areas to blend with the tile! The final bill was over $700 less than the estimated cost. They are the best! Professional and simply the best. I am repeat customer and I will keep returning. We had a leak on our bathroom few months ago. Restoration company scratched our travertine so they hired some "professional" company to remove scratches and polish it. When they arrived, they kept criticizing how our travertine look and how it's not shiny enough. I told them that Baker's Travertine did our floors and I am pretty happy with the look. They just ignored me. Well, after they finished our bathroom floor had a "orange peel" look and I did not like it. They said that's the best they can do so...... I let them go. I called Bakers Travertine and they got it right! Our travertine looks like a mirror and I feel as if I was walking on glass! They are simply the best. This review is from the owner Tom Baker I have to admit I am ashamed we did a very large project, clean up did not achieve the standards that we reflect during the bids. We usually have the highest level of cleanup we try to leave the home in a better condition than when we find if possible. We had recent large project for Ann we did not meet up to expectations. Ann said the floor turned out good and they were professional and polite. The problem was we did not not manage our cleanup. We are returning to make sure we make good on promise of not leaving a mess for the customer to deal with. Speaking of promises I promise this will be addressed we will have a company review and standards will be reinforced from the highest level to the lowest level with our crews. Tom and Amy's team are fabulous! Most of the work we had done was outside on flagstone and slate. Everything ended up looking so much better than it did prior to their process. We also had travertine in our master bathroom cleaned and resealed by the Baker's and it is beautiful. There was a lot of grout left on the tile from a previous fix the former homeowner must have had done and it is all gone, the tile looks like new! The Baker's crew is extremely professional. They worked hard, explained the process thoroughly and answered any questions we had. They were able to finish the project a day early and left no trace of being here. I did not feel like their prices were high considering how much work was done at our home. Baker's Travertine Power Clean team provided excellent service and exceptional results in our 4,000 square foot fine jewelry store in North Scottsdale. Given our unique situation, we had to break the job up between two Sundays and hire security for the job...the team came in with a game plan and executed it perfectly. The results went above and beyond my expectations...to top it off, the owner of the company came in the next business day and performed a quality control check. He identified a couple areas where he felt the staining could have been better blended and sent out members of his team to follow up and spot treat those areas. I read the other Yelp reviews and called Tom and Amy to schedule a quote. Please review their website, they are PASSIONATE about stone - and more knowledgeable than I expected. Take their suggestions seriously, they REALLY understand floors. Mine are travertine and we had them do the light polish. All I can say is that Miles, Glen, Chris and Sean did an AMAZING job. We are so happy with the floors, 5 stars aren't enough. I wish we could double it. Polishing our travertine was the best upgrade we could make to our home. It enhances everything else - and Tom and Amy humbly told me so when they came to provide the estimate. I can't thank Baker's Travertine Power Clean enough. Beware! Although Baker's crew was on time, friendly and did a fairly good job, they filled holes in the travertine with grout, not epoxy. Grout does not shine, and because the fill-ins are dull they look like holes, Grout chips out easily and becomes pasty when wet. While their estimate noted in the fine print that holes were to be filled with grout, as new homeowners with travertine floors, we did not understand the difference and it was not clearly explained to us. If we had understood the difference between these two materials, Baker's would not have won our business. When I spoke to Amy on the phone about my concerns, I was disappointed that no further help was offered. As the sayings go, "you get what you pay for" and "buyer beware". read more

I made a mistake of using Art of Tuscany to install floor tile. The tile installer left me with a very unlevel floor with big, sharp edges that prevented you from walking barefoot in your own house! After interviewing every tile cleaner/polisher/honer in the Phoenix area and being told to rip it all out and start over again, Baker's Travertine seemed to know what to do and save my floor. The workers were prompt, on time, and did excellent work. They saved my floor and brought everything back to my original vision. They took the time to explain each step of the process and they honed sample sections on the floor so I could select the final look I wanted. Very, very good. The staff delivered beautiful floors as promised. We went with the high gloss. They were careful and did hand polishing where needed. They attended to every detail and were extremely professional and went the extra mile.....moving furniture, etc.....they even took pictures of the layout so they could move everything back exactly the way it was. I highly recommend them and will use them again. Don't understand the poor review. This company took off the old dull sealer. My travertine floor has a lot of imperfections (it is natural stone! ) and they advised me that some areas would not be perfect. I understood that and my floors came out fantastic. The process started with a realistic conversation with the sales rep on the condition of my flagstone floors and what was needed and more importantly NOT needed (no up-sell pressure just a rational conversation about the options). Their pricing was extremely competitive. The day of the service the team showed up on time and was very well organized. They took great care about moving furniture and protecting walls. Before Bakers my floors were chalky, dusty and unpleasant to walk on barefoot. But after they cleaned my floors and gave them a high polish they shine like marble and are super easy to clean. Even with 3 small children riding bikes and plasma cars in the house the floors have kept their shine. It's been 3 years and I've just had Bakers return to touchup high traffic areas and give my outdoor travertine a beautiful satin finish. The workers that came to my home are kind and trustworthy. We had Baker's refinish about 500SqFt of marble in a home we purchased. The process started with Amy and Tom coming to our home and providing a quote. They were polite and very informative. We did not obtain a second quote - with a little research we felt very confident we would get the results they indicated. Travis, Brad and Brian showed up on time, were very polite and went right to work on our Gilbert home. The entire project took the 3 of them about 7 hours. The results gave us a high gloss finish to the previously dull and scratched marble. They repaired several locations and filled in some missing grout. We will use them again. read more

This company is awesome to work with from Tim, the owner, to Miles and his crew who do the actual cleaning and refinishing of the travertine floor. My floor was a mess. Previous owner had poured some kind of sealer on it which ended up leaving scratches and absorbing the dust & dirt. Miles was able to remove that seal and clean & buff my floors till they look brand new. I can't say enough good things about this company. Summary - great customer service and work product! Had no issues working with Amy to obtain answers to my questions and a quote even though we live up in Sedona. Communication ahead of time was great -- even rec'd a call from the crew when they were 30 minutes out. The team worked hard all day long and were incredibly professional and polite. I highly recommend this company. Our residence has a flagstone patio that is over 13 years old, installed by the original owners. It was very dirty and stained, and over the years we have been dismayed with its appearance, not knowing what to do with it.
