Driver if bus 5810 at 1:56pm waiting in the air conditioning while leaving us outside in the heat. Bus was supposed to leave at 2:05.

Driver of bus 5810 sat in air conditioning while leaving everyone else out in the 100 plus heat in Bakersfield CA. When I asked if we could board, his response was "dude if you don't shut up I won't let you board my bus." We were supposed to leave at 2:05 but he waited giving us no explanation. HE SHOULD BE FIRED. We left at 2:23! There were elderly and young kids standing out in that heat. How rude and non customer focused that was. FIRE HIM NOW! His is Jay and he is horrible

Awesome travels this week .our team went Florida USA to pick up our mom and we landed in Florida USA by jet.we bought Amtrak tickets in Florida USA and got the train from Amtrak Florida to New York City then throughout the eastern cities of Virginia, New York City, Philadelphia city USA to Chicago I'll USA. I found the stuff that Amtrak from Florida tomorrow in Chicago New Mexico a sandwich to be awesome and fantastic. Performance it was good to have everybody on point to Cassie you never know Kirk Franklin if you're not concerns together next week. The news and happiness having enjoy the rest of it okay Mr Wilkinson what was that lady's name Charlie was awesome the food people were beautiful and accommodations were nice can't complain it was awesome five stars on the way through still haven't finished my journey heading toward Martinez but have a wonderful time bye-bye

Somethings have changed and some have stayed the same since the last time we were here. The employees still seem to have a very laid-back attitude bordering on rude. While at the ticket window a gentleman approached and asked to use the bathroom. Apparently now you need a key to get in. I'm guessing because of the homeless in the area. The station is still seemed clean and well kept. UPDATE What can I say about Amtrak. The station in Bakersfield was semi-clean but there were several homeless in the seating area. We sat in the station for approximately 45 minutes never seeing any security personnel. Finally when we got up to go to the train there was a security guard at the tracks. I approached him and told him about the homeless inside the station but he made excuses that they were actually passengers. I doubt this very much as one had a shopping cart full of things and another was throwing things against the window inside and going through the trash cans. It seemed to me that he was afraid of an encounter.

We are going to Bakersfield by Amtrak I'm San Joaquins bound after the Amtrak express bus from Los Angeles. This place is clean! It took 3 hours from now on, you don't have to drive a car here because the parking was permanently on the road and I couldn't park it in here. It took 3 hours again from LA-Bakersfield to SF-Oakland, I should bring the snacks where we got from 7-Eleven to Truxtun ave because it's cheaper! Welcome aboard, your vacation time had been started earlier in the morning. I only go to this train station on summer to invite dad's relatives in San Francisco county.

If you cannot make the drive to the Bay area from Bakersfield, then taking the Amtrak train is a good alternative. Yes, it is pricier than just driving up there. Yes, it takes longer to get up there. About 7 hour trip by Amtrak as compared to about 4 hours by car. The train is pretty comfortable. Seats are okay. Gets a bit too crowded at times. If you are not comfortable meeting others, then do not take Amtrak during peak times or peak days. This Amtrak station in Bakersfield is quite nice in comparison to most other towns train stations. Cleaner and larger. Try them out, if you do not mind a longer trip.

Ask the Community - Bakersfield Amtrak Station

How safe is it to leave a car overnight for a few days?

I wouldn't choose to park my car that length of time due to the area being sketchy.I would for just leave it one day at the most, and still it's taking a chance.

The women's hadn't been swept in about a week, but over all they were clean and everything worked. The best part about the stop is Hoyett's Sandwich Shop about 2 blocks away. From the station, walk 1 block west and take a right, then walk one block north. It's small dinner, but what it lacks in size it makes up in friendly service and good food. We had breakfast and we felt welcome to stay as long as we wanted. Which was great since our train home was still 2 1/2 hrs away. Our trip was for "pleasure." We took our 4 yr old son on his first train ride. There was not much to do within walking distance from the station, but we filled our time. We bought a small ball at one of the shops and kick it around after breakfast while we waited for the train. I'm not sure I'd do it again, but we made good memories and I give that part 5 stars.

Booking by phone was fast and the operator was helpful and informed. She did not know why I was having trouble booking online. She said you could eat/drink in the vehicle but to not leave a mess. Total cost for roundtrip transport for my situation was just under $180. On the day/time of my transport, I parked my car in the general airport parking lot (free). I had to fill out some paperwork because my car was going to be there for more than 2 weeks. Shuttle was ready at the scheduled time. We made stops in Buellton and a rest break in Ventura. Driver was good but spoke very little English. A/C was functioning properly as it was hot outside. There is no form of entertainment (TVs), outlets to charge your electronic devices (phone), or WiFi. This is definitely a good service for the cost.

I noticed we were heading south at a very fast speed, I started asking several times, "why are we were going south? The driver also missed my drop off location by 3 exits, further delaying my arrival to Santa Barbara, again telling driver/interpretor several times to stop! I will never use Central Coast Shuttle Service again!

Never seen so many tattoo'd females in very little clothing. Are we Ho Ho'ing or are we strippin' ? I got up to find another seat. Came across a table & some older man had the nerve to say I could not use the table. It's a crazy train now. So I sit in the dining cart to regroup. Noticed no one is staffing the dining cart. Time to regroup & check the app. Next thing I know two conductors come & tell me I can't sit here. (You can't park here.). I know I know. He tells me where the have plenty of seating & I ask him if he can retrieve my bag. Yes, I need help. The conductor graciously gets my carry-on from car 4 and carries it all the way to car 1. He tells me there's no dining service, but all the items out are FREE. 'Doesn't make any sense, right?' He asks me. It's all junk, except the baby water bottles & it's probably a tax write off for Amtrak. Time to put on my earbuds. Talkative people have just arrived stuffing their face with free corn chips & Doritos. Ride was not bad. Car #1 was mostly quiet. Passed by the Bay, got to see the water & all the tires sticking out of the shallow area. Arrived safely with some daylight. Staff was friendly & informative.
