    Cilantro Lime Chicken Ramen
    Laura F.

The ramen was delicious. The broth was flavorful and a very hearty portion. We tried the Cilantro Lime Ramen with Pork Belly and a Chicken Ramen. I was happy to see a whole egg :). The service was fast and our server was knowledgeable. They have great Happy Hour specials and it gets really crowded, especially on a weekend. There is also music on the louder side, so if you are looking for quiet, this is not it.

It's our first time trying this place. We were looking for some ramen place in San Antonio. And found this. Love the interior design, made you feel relaxed. The food was delicious too. We were surprised by the sashimi taco (I don't remember the dish name), but it was amazing! I enjoyed this dish the best!! Other dishes were delicious too!

After reconsidering I realize the prices make sense for the quality food you get. Employees and managers are very nice. Hopefully I will be back soon. My absolute favorite ramen place!

I have seen this spot for years and always wanted to come check it out. Finally did this past weekend. So many different ramen bowls to choose from. Racy sitting, fast service. The ramen bowl I got was the garlic one that was the most popular. I loved it. Loved every bite. Reasonably priced too! Definitely coming back here

The food and customer service were great! The atmosphere was calm and tidy. I had the bakudan edamame, gyoza, and gyoza chicken ramen. Everything was so tasty! I recently returned for their pozole ramen and it was delicious! They were not stingy at all either the portions.

4.5 Stars Casual spot in a trendy atmosphere featuring yummy Ra and Non-traditional Asian dishes. I had the BibimBap ($10.99) with steak ($5) -- it wasn't a super traditional Bibimbap, but it included chunks of KBBQ seasoned steak, steamed veggies, and an egg on rice served in a hot stone pot, which made the rice on the edges crispy. Others tried the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen ($14.75) and Curry Chicken Katsu ($14.99), both of which were enjoyed! The only issue with the Katsu was that the breading had puffed away and separated from the meat. The restaurant is located in a mall plaza with a modern interior and attentive staff.

While not the best ramen I've had, it's still good enough that I'll be back to try more. I had the spicy umami miso ramen which was probably the best of the three we ordered at the table. I found it to be a mild spicy. My only real complaint is that the noodles weren't very flavorful. Other than that, I thought everything else was on point. Service was great. And thank goodness they keep the place cool enough to enjoy a hot soup on a hot Texas summer afternoon!

Oh my god. Okay, I'll keep it simple- it's incredible. Service? Efficient, kind, and quick. Food? Incredible, rich, flavorful, and filling. Ambiance?, pretty normal, when it's full it's pretty loud and they have anime playing on the screen to grab your attention, very cozy!, I got the tempura ramen, I was a little nervous that the broth would be too "fishy/shrimpy" but it was sooo good. Rich and warm and umami. 10/10 recommend! For 5 people/5 ramens my total came to about $121(including a 15$ tip so 106) which for the food? Completely fair and worth it! I also got one of their cocktails DELICIOUS! (And oh my gosh those eggs. To die for.)

My daughter had a spicy shayu because she likes thicker noodles. She loved it and it wasn't too spicy

Oh this place was so good! Went on Sunday, no wait, friendly service and delicious food!

Really disappointed with this place, I figured since they had 2 locations in SA they were good. I was very wrong. We ordered chicken karaage, that was so nasty I didn't even take a picture of it. The ramen I ordered had no flavor, egg wast marinated and honestly the whole meal was very underwhelming... don't bother coming here.

    Are there gluten free options?

Yes! Bakudan Ramen is the only ramen place in San Antonio I have found that has gluten free noodles, and therefore, gluten free offerings on their menu.

Which makes me question the sincerity of the quality of their restaurant. I dined in and their menu was extremely limited and you have to add everything a la cart unlike other ramen places. On the menu they clearly state do not leave a bad review just leave direct feedback. But honestly, you shouldn't have to bribe or beg your patrons in trying to silence them. Make the needed adjustments to earn loyal customers, like not making them add every single ingredient as a separate charge, playing some music to drown out conversation from the other table, checking on your customers a little more often, and improving the quality of your menu. I love local businesses but the pressure they put on you as a customer, is unreal. I'll try giving them another chance but not anytime soon, I'll stick with Suck It in the Medical Center.

It comes with avocado (which I loved), a full seasoned egg (huge plus for me), cilantro, and corn. That alone tells me they're trying to give you a complete, well-thought-out bowl. The broth was spicy and really flavorful. The chicharrón was very soft, which I personally liked a lot. Overall, it was a delicious bowl and something different from your usual ramen experience.
