Nancy and Paula catered my daughter's wedding in Beverly Hills and five stars is not enough! Everything they served was a ten! From the sushi bar that was presented beautifully it made you feel like you were on a tropical island to the beef sticks and then the dinner was served, OMG we had a prime rib selections, vegetarian selection and then the miso glazed Chilean Sea Bass hit it out of the ballpark! Every aspect of their service, from the delicious first bite to the final farewell, was a testament to their professionalism and dedication to making each event a memorable success. My wife's 65th birthday party (her only birthday party ever) was a huge success. She was overwhelmed at the event as she was also recovering from a broken femur and has had Type 1 diabetes for 63+ years. We had passing hors d'oeuvres trays and a beautifully decorated round multi-tray display in the foyer. Then we had a large group of buffet style entrees in the party room with a carving station, salads and vegetables. It was a small party of 50. Balabusta table settings and servers did a fantastic job, as good as some double the price kosher caterers we used decades ago. Balabusta is a staple of many local synagogues. You do get what you pay for. The food was some of the best kosher food available. All parve including a high end restaurant quality ravioli and totally consumed hand carved marinated brisket and Viennese pastry tables. Everything just looked elegant and tasty. This event looked and felt like a high end wedding. It made a tremendous impression on our guests (friends and family). Balabusta also aided in last minute linens & glassware which were to be the responsibility of another party. Nancy came through at the last minute. The party was a total success!!! The food from Balabusta is incredible. It is one of the best Kosher caterers I have ever tried. They catered a Shabbat dinner for us in at a hotel in Santa Barbara, and all of our guests were raving about the food. (We had fish and brisket. Both were excellent, but the brisket was probably the best brisket I have ever had in my life.) Nancy and Paula are easy to work with and were able to put together the catering for our event on short notice. Next time I am hosting a Kosher event, I will definitely be using Balabusta Catering. 3 weeks before my son's BarMitzvah I had zero food for the fast approaching and relatively small event (100 people). Because the party was planned during the busy wedding summer, I was having difficulties finding a caterer that would commit and work with me on price and options with such short notice. I called Paula and the moment she picked up the phone she assured me that it would get done and boy! ...It really exceeded my expectations. Nancy (Paula's team) worked tirelessly putting together very elegant menus (for Kiddush lunch and dinner) within a price range that I felt comfortable. She stepped up by making fabulous recommendations with the bar, linen selection colors and tons of extras I hadn't thought of, that made my son's party shine. Jaime (captain) did an awesome job putting together an elegant modern presentation for the Kiddush, hors d'oeuvre, the diner food, and the deserts. He was also very accommodating for my last minute requests. The bar had plenty of selections to choose from and all the crew from the kitchen to the waitresses including chefs were phenomenal. Kiddush lunch was delicious, at dinner everybody was raving about the food, must definitely the touch of the night was the chef at the desert table and his exotic fruits. The selection of food and deserts for the overall event was outstanding! Best of all, the billing was clearly itemized. We hired Balabusta Catering for the celebration immediately following our daughter becoming a Bat Mitzvah. Paula and Cathy assisted us with the food (delicious, beautifully presented and Kosher) and the rentals through Beverly Events. They worked within our budget, and everything was great. They went out of their way to make sure the evening was a success for all! The staff was attentive and well trained; our guests loved the hot and cold appetizers that began as soon as Havdallah was over; the "personal chef pasta bar" concept and the lightup bars were a big hit, too.
