This time last year, Ravi and his team completed Phase One of my backyard landscaping. As someone new to Arizona (originally from San Diego and a longtime Texas resident), I was unfamiliar with the process of buying a new build and being left with just a dirt lot in the backyard--let alone being required by the HOA to landscape it within 120 days. Naturally, that created some anxiety, but working with Ravi turned out to be a genuinely enjoyable experience. Ravi is personable, professional, and speaks to clients the way you'd speak to friends or family. After consulting with four other landscaping companies, I knew Ravi was the right fit. While pricing was on the higher end--$12K for Phase One and a quote of $7K-$10K for Phase Two--Ravi's communication, reliability, and results made it worth it. You truly do pay for quality. There were a couple of minor issues: one sprinkler line was accidentally cut during French drain installation (but quickly repaired), and a couple of pavers have slightly shifted. These small hiccups are the only reason for a four-star rating instead of five. Overall, I highly recommend Ravi and Balanced Landscaping LLC and will absolutely work with them again for the remaining phases of my yard. read more

We hired them to repair, clean and seal our flagstone. And Replace some of the stones. The job created a massive amount of dust and when they power sprayed a lot of it came in the pool. Our pool is in very bad shape now and we'll probably need a new filter. The work was shoddy, they used white grout around the new stones. All other grout is dark gray, so it doesn't blend at all, where they took off old sealer the stones are spotted. I am sorry we used this company. read more

This is an update. The retaining wall needed to be repaired. Ravi was quick to respond. The job was discussed. The repair was scheduled in less than 2 weeks. The repair only took one day. The gravel next to the wall was excavated. A footer drain was installed. Ravi also installed 4 French drains. He used river rock to improve drainage and reduce hydrostatic pressure on the wall. The surface was made to match the rest of the surface landscaping. The retaining wall and repaired area was then re-stuccoed and painted. I will need to wait for the monsoon season to see how well the drainage functions. read more

We hired Balance Landscaping to put travertine tiles in our courtyard, pavers alongside our driveway, take out our grass, do some irrigation work, add rocks, and a river run. Unfortunately everything they did had to be redone because it wasn't done correctly the first time. A project that was supposed to take two weeks ended up taking four weeks and still wasn't done the way we asked them to do it to start with. Then the owner had the audacity to ask for more money than what was agreed upon. Ravi, the owner, and Matt were difficult to work with throughout the project. Now we have a leak in the irrigation system and don't want to contact them to come back and fix it because we're afraid they will mess up something else. So we will have to pay someone else to come fix it. It was a disaster from the beginning! read more

Please don't use this company!!! For a company that has supposed to have been in business for 30 years, they showed a lack of skill and communication. My job should have been a short quick job but it dragged on for weeks and was never completed because I was done trying to work things out. Matt came out and sent me a quote. I had to dial the job back and was upfront with what my budget was. I took two retaining wall down to one and the quote came back with Matt assuring me they could get the job done within my budget. He showed me a picture of what the wall would look like. Stairs going up the center with a capped top to give it a finished look. I was told it would be a 4 - 5 day job. Another company had offered me 18 months same as cash and they agreed I would pay half when the job was completed and half in 6 months. Problems started right away. I was told samples of the products would be brought over for me to review. Then I get a call while I was at work saying they were ahead of schedule could they send pictures of the pavers so as not to slow the job down. I wanted red pavers and they told me the cost would be way more, I wasn't sent pictures of the product or prices to confirm that. I was told, here are the options. I was sent a photograph from a website of what the pavers would like like laid down. The wall could be red but the pavers would need to be a different color. The photos I saw had multicolors in the pavers with some red tones. When they arrived the colors were muted compared to the photos I saw and not what I wanted at all. They told me it would be at least a $1000 to return plus I would have to pay the difference in price. I couldn't afford that so decided to go with it as they assured me it would be great. After it was done it did look good but not what I would have ever picked out. No measurements were taken or stakes put in for the crew to know where to lay pavers. They were not shown the photograph of what the wall was supposed to look like. I noticed they were putting an edge in an area that was suppose to have been pavers for my garbage cans. They had to tear the edging up and lay the pavers in that spot. Then, another day, the pavers had the edge put on and they weren't going all the way to the edge of my existing patio. About two rows shy. When I pointed it out they said it would be more money as they didn't order enough pavers. Just to get the job done I agreed to pay more. $300 more then $100 more. They started pressuring me to pay in cash. I kept hearing from Ravi that they were losing money. I explained that it was all their miscommunication that caused them to have to keep ripping stuff up and redoing. It wasted a lot of the pavers and time. I saw them taking the wall straight accross when there should have been stairs. Matt had to stop everyone and said come and look at the picture she has pulled up on her computer. The one he had sent me. They had to improvise on the fly and change the design. I would have felt more confident had them been shown the photo when the job started. My job went from 4 - 5 days to 5 weeks and counting and I was done dealing with them and their untruths. I pointed out that I had agreed to pay them $1100 for an irrigation system and I was charged $500 for dirt that was never delivered and the ground was not graded as promised. Ravi agreed to reach a settlement on the price so we could move on. Not before he threatened me. Ravi, leaving me a voice mail saying pay or I will come out and tear up the project. Calling me names. I am a 63 year old single woman. I agreed to a settlement price. Giving them far more than what they deserved for all the stress they put me through, and for how much more it is going to cost to complete the job. I have to pay now instead of in six months so I have had to deplete my savings. They are no longer guaranteeing their work for the 120 days it said in the contract. There is a crack in one of the stones that was supposed to have gotten replaced. I never received the capping of the stones. I was told that since I changed the color that stone couldn't be capped only to find out that wasn't true. I will have to pay to get that done. My irrigation system, I don't know where I stand there. My old system was supposed to have pulled out and a new pvc one put in. There were two drip connections set up on one side and one on the other. Not sure why there wasn't one on each side and one in the middle. I don't see any connections in my lower section so I don't believe they pulled the old sytem and put in new there. I requested several times to have them show me how to work the system and they never showed me how to use it. I am gong to have to pay someone else to come out and see what is working and what isn't. I won't be surprised if it needs to be redone. Grateful to have a much better looking space but not happy with this company's conduct. read more

We were having our whole backyard redone and balance landscaping came out to give us an estimate. Their landscape designer did an amazing job I really didn't know what I wanted and he was able to figure out and exceed my expectations. The workers were there on time and finished when they said and left it absolutely beautiful and immaculate. I highly recommend them for their workmanship and on time performance and the cost. Ravi and his team were professional, punctual and they created a beautiful patio and side yard for us. It is rare that I hear about a construction/yard job where people are pleased with pretty much everything, but we really are happy! Our front yard was uneven and they leveled it out for us and replaced the irrigation system so that we could enlarge our patio. After years of sprinkler issues on the side yard that ruined the door, we went with the artificial grass. Great job by his team, and Ravi is enjoyable to work with. That's where I found Matt and Ravi. Both of these men really helped my vision come to life better than I could have imagined and helped guide me in designs when I was unsure. They were present and communicated with me the whole project. They were very conscious of my budget and helped me stay within it even when I changed a few things. the Crew were great and very skilled and they even helped me setup some patio furniture that was delivered. I feel they all went above and beyond to give me more than I imagined and really can't say enough amazing things about this company and the crew working for them. I had a big project of complete renovation of the front and back yard which they took on without complaints. They were always on time and finished both projects in great time. Matthew is an outstanding example of American Hard Work and standards. I had a backyard redone, sod rock installed. Sprinkler system fixed or better yet replaced. Front yard cleaned rock, tree removed and planted new tree. Set my timer numerous times. It doesn't stop....we wanted a tree I know Jack about trees we took a picture of a tree we saw and liked....sent to Matthew he found my tree. Awesome !!!!! Some sod did not take Matthew got it replaced got his crew right on it, by the way I was warned sometimes some sod can do that, but no worries taken care of. They went way above and beyond and as soon as I get enough money this crew is going to install my paver.....please save yourself time and hire this company. You will not regret it! When they came, I thought they did a good job until we went with another company. We had to pay a large amount to just clean the place up to get the grounds to a good starting place. If their truck breaks down and they miss a week, don't expect any compensation for work not done, the owner had lots of excuses and was not willing to budge. He said "we will do an extra good job next week" He also said they do things like fix sprinklers and spray for weeds which is extra and they never charge us for it. We gave them a set of keys to open the gate. Come to find out, they never used them, they pried the gate open. No wonder the gate was found bent so many times. After 25 years in the same home with scrub grass and high water bills, I took a deep breath and pursued my xeriscape dream! I called 4 different companies to get bids on removing a huge eucalyptus tree, tearing out grass, and adding sprinkler system, gravel and plants. Ravi and his crew were incredible! Not only did they come in significantly under the other bids, but they finished the job in one day, gifted me several plants and came back a few days later to plant 2 plants that friends had given me without charge. This project was a huge , emotional deal for me and a financial expediture which, for a person living on a fixed income, was a big deal. The owner of the business, Ravi Singh was a champ, responding quickly to my many emails and text messages as new questions arose. I can't wait to have him do my backyard. I had Balance Landscaping come out to my house to get a estimate on replacing my sprinklers in my backyard. We came to a agreement shook hands and set the date. They had to reschedule multiple times and when they did not show I called the president of the company and he had the audacity to have a attitude with me and wanted to change the to half the work. By then I have had enough and cancelled the agreement. My advice is to save your time and money for a more professional company. My previous landscaper recently sold his business (book of clients) to Ravi at Balance Landscaping and unfortunately for me this turned out to be a negative experience. There were delays in scheduling the first service visit, I was sent incorrect invoices multiple times even after pointing out errors, I found Ravi to be almost incomprehensible on the phone (and he apparently wasn't understanding me, either), and finally had to call my previous landscaper (the one who'd sold his business to Ravi) to intercede and get the invoice corrected. After three service visits I decided "enough" and sent Ravi a polite note stating I would pay the latest (corrected) invoice in full and was canceling all services from that date forward. He called me and claimed he had left me voice mails earlier (he hadn't) and, strangely, tried to argue me back into remaining as a customer. This included interrupting me multiple times and trying to speak over me as I told him my decision was final. I finally just said there was no point in continuing the conversation and we ended it. All in all, an unacceptable approach to running a business. read more
