I am warning any of you who have a "membership" at this place about their deceptive practices and how they will steal your money. I joined their membership over 5 years ago, where you get a discounted rate if you let them auto charge your credit card every month. They will let you accumulate credits too. I had multiple credits heading into spring 2022 and then I went into heart failure. I had a triple bypass, and then later a heart transplant, followed by a kidney transplant, that prevented me from coming back in. Due to all of this, the recovery lasted 4 years. I was getting calls from them every 6 months or so asking if I wanted to come in. I told them exactly what was going on with me and was always told it wasn't a problem and credits do not expire. I finally am back on my feet and found their website wasn't working so I called in. I eventually spoke to Valerie. Nice lady but she told me that since I had not been in for so long, they wiped my account, and I would have to pay for any massage. Was told prices went up too and that was a big reason. First off, this is illegal. You can't take someone's money that was paid for a service in advance. You have to provide the service or refund the money. Google it. There is no expiration. I still offered to pay the difference between what I was told was todays cost - $69 - and what I paid $50, plus I would still tip. I legally do not have to pay the increase either, but I was trying to make something good out of this. After alot of back and forth Valerie said the owner would grant me one free massage, but that was it, take it or leave it. The rest was gone. I took them up on it, as something is better than nothing. I had a great massage. No complaints there. But as I left I was told about the 'membership' again and saw that the price was $55 for members. So it wasn't $69, but $55. It did not sit well with me that this $5 increase and time forced them to take all my money so that is why I am here warning others about this deceptive and illegal practice. If you have credits, you better see if they still have them for you. If you're a new customer, be aware of what they do. Before this I loved going there, but there are literally thousands of massage places in the area, so unless they make it right, I won't be going back and neither should you. read more

I have been getting regular monthly massages here as a member of their monthly membership club for about a year at this point. I was disappointed to hear from my boyfriend's mother--who recommended me to this establishment because she is also a monthly membership holder and has always had a great experience here--that Valerie complained to her via text for my lack of tipping, instead of bringing the issue to me directly. Also threatening to turn me away (once again to my boyfriend's mother, not even to me) rather than confront the issue directly... I find that very unprofessional. I do not carry cash on me and usually am able to tip on card at any other business I visit. That is the sole reason I have not tipped in the past, which I do find regrettable as I have enjoyed all my services there. It was not a malicious act or meant to be taken offense to, and I did apologize directly to Valerie for any harm caused on my part by not leaving cash for her. If I had known this was an essential piece of revenue for their employees I would have been sure to keep cash on me. And if tipping truly is an essential part of their employees' pay to make ends meet, maybe consider raising the prices to accommodate their employees' wellbeing. Regardless this is a very unprofessional look for the establishment, and quite embarrassing that Valerie involved the woman who recommended me to spend money at their business rather than bringing the issue to me, the actual customer involved. Unfortunately this interaction has left a very bad taste in my mouth and made me feel unwelcome to return and to continue spending my money here. I found a Groupon online and wanted to check out the massage services, being new in town and looking for a new massage therapist. Andrew seemed to have received multiple positive review, hence I scheduled an appointment with him online through their scheduling system. A day before the appointment I received an email confirmation. On the date of the appointment, I showed up 15 min early to fill out the paperwork. The door was locked. I thought that possibly he was working alone, and the locked the door for security reasons. I waited 10 minutes, and a woman opened the door. She kindly asked me to fill out paperwork thinking I was her client. When I told her I was there to see Andrew, she stated that he was sick. I was visibly frustrated that nobody called me before to notify me of the cancellation. She had another client scheduled, so there was nothing she could do, although she offered for me to wait and see if her client show up. At that point, disappointed, I did not feel like waiting anymore. I cannot believe that someone would just drop all his clients without canceling them, even in case of an emergency. A phone call, an email, anything to notify clients that Andrew was not able to provide services today would be welcome. As I was driving home, I received another email stating that I did not show up for my appointment, and if I wanted to reschedule, I would be charged a $20 fee. This was the last straw in the "benefit of the doubt" bucket. I find this unprofessional to do business in this way and would not recommend anyone to come here. read more

Found Balance of Wellness through the purchase of a Groupon, which was a great deal by the way. Their website is super easy to schedule a date/time/treatment. You can see every therapist's schedule. The first available appointment I found was with Andrew and since I read lovely reviews about him, I decided to book my massage with him. Andrew was so lovely and welcoming upon my first visit. The room itself was dimmed, had relaxing ambiance music and the table itself has heating, which feels amazing. I asked Andrew to work mostly on my back, since I have quite a few knots there and I am quite sensitive. You can tell he has a lot of experience, as he immediately felt where the problem areas were and adjusted pressure. I am extremely satisfied with my massage experience and would definitely recommend coming here. Amber's technique was very effective, I would even say intuitive as she focussed on areas that needed extra attention Not once did I have to tell her it hurt or to stop as I have had less than pleasant experiences where I ended up worse than I arrived. So upset! I bought a Groupon at this place based on a recommendation. I arrived 5 minutes late, my fault. I expected to have the 5 minutes shaved off my hour, no problem. But the therapist, Carmen, refused to start my massage unless I fill out the paperwork first. I asked if I could tell he and fill it out later so I don't waste my time and she said no. When I told her I'd rather cancel than pay her to fill out papers, she said I should expect this. I'll be trading my Groupon for someone who wants my business. I was looking for a massage place and i searched on Groupon and found balance of wellness. When I checked yelp, they had 5 stars and I thought it's probably good because of the Groupon and yelp ratings. It's somewhat hard to find when you put in on gps. I was able to find it prob 8 minutes before my appointment so I wasn't late. I get there, place is beautiful, clean and quiet. My appointment was at 5. The therapist didn't come out until about 5:05. Gave me paperwork to fill out, pretty quick. I went in the room and massage didn't really start until 5:15 or even later. When I purchased the Groupon it said the massage is for 60 minutes. By 6:01 I was done! That's 45 minutes! I think If they start late, it's not the customers fault, there was nobody else there to do the massage since I got there on time. So I was disappointed by that. Something else, when I get a massage, it's very relaxing and I feel pain relief in my back. This time, my upper back started hurting which is not usual. I have been seeing Andrew at least twice a month sometimes more since mid July. I have fibromyalgia and when I lived in NY deep tissue massage really helped keep my flare ups down. I would have loved loved to have used the 70$$$ that I bought and paid for but sadly they have no elevator or escalator only have a stairs yes it is upstairs.
