I've came here twice so far and I highly recommend it. I drive a 2013 Toyota Prius. First time, my check engine light came on. I went to the dealership and was told I need my engine and inverter coolant flushed. I was given an estimate of $270. I shopped around and the guy who does my oil changes recommended this shop. This shop charged me $80. I thought it was too good to be true. I dropped off the car and it was done the same day. Second time, I got a warning saying something about the hybrid battery system and I should pull over as soon as I can. I took it to the shop and they fixed it the same day. Told me that the fan was too dusty slowing it down which caused the hybrid battery to overheat. They cleaned the fan. It was $80. Same day fix They accept debit/credit cards with no extra charge. My car completely shut down but luckily it was on Valley Bl and Baldwin Av, right down the street where I get my car regularly serviced..as I was about to call AAA I thought Id give my wonderful mechanic a shot..sure enough Mr. Lee answered on a SATURDAY at 3 the AFTERNOON and said NO PROBLEM.. WE WILL BE RIGHT THERE.. Really?!!On a Saturday at 3:00pm with no appointment? What other mechanic would do that for someone? They don't even deserve this one star, I am unbelievably disappointed at this place. I've been coming here on and off for over a decade. My Dad has always serviced all our cars with Lee. Prices were always fair and relatively cheap (because they use the cheapest parts you could ever get ahold of). My family members also have brought vehicles to him as well. You would think after all these years and referrals they would treat me with more decency than the average customer but clearly customer service is not key in this place. Even a simple hello, welcome, or I'll be right with you after waiting like a loser until someone finally acknowledges me. They saw me and my father come in and Lee was just chatting away with another customer that he was excited to have a conversation with and completely ignored us. I don't know if the management changed but he had some other fellow help us that spoke better English. Didn't bother to say hi, just pointed at the other guy to infer that he was going to help us and not him. It's like seriously after all these years and thousands of dollars we have spent here this is the respect we get? I needed to change my shocks, replace a motor mount, and get an oil change. I leave my car all day and finally pick it up right before the close. I pay the ridiculous amount of $980+ dollars (the most we have ever paid here), he charges my card and then immediately closes his garage as I walk to my car. I walk to my car and THERE IS A CRACK ON MY WINDSHIELD!!! I'm beyond furious and I see Lee chatting away with someone else again (completely ignoring me) and I completely flip out and can't believe they were going to return my car like this to me. My windows were down, the car looked filthy and now there's a huge crack in the glass. The fellow I paid came out and acted dumb and said well he honestly didn't remember if I brought it in like that. I told him I never would drive a car with a broken windshield, why would I drop nearly $1,000 dollars to fix my car but not fix the windshield. Just acting beyond stupid and acting as if he would be doing me a favor if he fixed it. He knew it was there but just thought I would be dumb enough to not notice. He told me to call him in the morning when he gets in touch with the mechanic that was working on it but I refused to drive it off the lot until he fixed it. I left it over night and my parents picked it up for me in the morning and when I got back from work I couldn't believe the crap they put on it. There was glass everywhere, dirt everywhere, fingerprints all over my car, I found a razor blade that could have easily cut me, the windshield glass they put had a terrible rear view mirror (sticky stuff on the bottom of the glass) and was 100% used and from a junkyard. There was dirt covered on the hood of my car and for some reason my tint in the back driver seat window looked like it had been scratched with the razor I found. I seriously couldn't believe this was happening to me and my car!!! Dropping a thousand dollars and getting this crap of replacement in return. It also rattles so much now and the glass isn't cleanable, it has sap and scratches that won't come off after taking it to get a car wash twice. I'm so upset and can't believe I got screwed after dropping a grand here. NEVER COMING AGAIN AND WARNING OTHERS NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. read more

OK, here's the deal... This is a very good place to bring your car. Mr. Lee is very skilled and experienced and everyone else is also really good. There's just a few things you need to know if you're going to do business with them. If you're going to get a quote from these guys for some work, make sure you get it from Mr. Lee and NOT his son Bill. Mr. Lee will give you a good price. Bill always seems to find a way to tack on an extra 50-70 bucks or more to the final price. Bill once quoted me $230 (parts and labor) to replace a part that cost me $65 at the parts store and took me, having never done it before, a whole 30 minutes to replace myself. I'm sure their seasoned mechanics could have replaced it in 10 minutes or less. Apparently that amount of time was worth $165. Bill's prices always seem very arbitrary and don't expect an itemized receipt (where every part of the final bill is listed for you) if you should get one. Saving that $165 made me re-evaluate how I continue dealing with this garage. And that's not my only shady story about this place. Bill will often avoid giving you a receipt for the work done on your car, I'm thinking it's so they can fudge their numbers to save on taxes or something. If you ask for a receipt (which Bill will then have to report on his records/taxes) Bill will charge you an additional $10 for it. That's kinda shitty. If he's looking to fudge things for his benefit, it really should come out of his end. The best advice I can give is when it comes to parts, make sure you get your old parts (that are rightfully yours) back when something is replaced. They never ask you if you'd like them back. When it comes to metal parts, you can get some money back from those at your local recyclers. If you need to get parts replaced, I would recommend (if you have the time) to buy the parts yourself and just have them swap it out, that way they only charge you for labor, which should bring the price down considerably. I had a part replaced a few months ago, initially I found Bill's estimate around $70 higher than I was expecting. I needed my car back ASAP so I agreed. I found the part in better condition (new) at the local parts place for $30 cheaper than I was charged. That being said, they do good work and they honor any warrantee they give you. You just need to know how to dance around their quirks so everything works out for you. I hope this helps. read more

Not sure why this place doesn't have reviews because it is a great auto repair shop! If I have to guess, it is probably because it does a lot of business with older folks who don't yelp. They have expanded in recent years so you know their customers love them. The owner has been repairing cars for 30 years, and we have been going to him for 25 years. I even bring my car from SF back to this location for yearly check-ups. I have referred many friends to this car shop because they charge very reasonable prices, have prompt turnarounds and most importantly, are trustworthy. There were times when I brought my car in for repairs, and they flat out told me that repairs were not necessary and gave me other solutions. They offer smog check and car repair. Please be aware of this place before you bring your car for fixing! Unless you know what your car need to repair, or you know how to fix the car, otherwise you will get fool by the owner. All they want is money, I mean a lot of money from your pocket. Here is my story: My friend brought her 2001 toyota camry for fixing stalling car while her car at idle, but it happens occasionally. The owner, he said it was air/fuel sensor, and the charge is $250. He guarantee the problem is never come back, and he said this car is very easy to fix it; he can fix it without take a look at it. After nearly two weeks, the car was stalling again. She came back and asked for the guarantee. He check the car and said the car have not been any problem, that may be a liar. Why she have to lie to get what benefit? All she asked is the money back for the wrong diagnostic. After a while, he refund to her only $150, and said $100 remaining is for the part which was used for two week, and now he keep that part and re-install the old part (luckily she still keep the old part when he replace it with the new one at the begining). As a friend, I was so upset on her story. The auto shop's honesty is the main point to get the customer. OK, here is my situation. I don't question about their skills or experiences because i think they are good at that. However, the problem is that they have no honesty. My car's water tank area was leaking, and what they said is i need to replace the water pump, and thermostat. But i just replaced the water pump a year ago. Then they said "ok, you don't need to replace the water pump." ------WTF, did you guys really check on that? Anyway, they said they need one day to fix, so i wait for tomorrow to pick up my car, however, when i called them to make sure the car is ready or not, they said i need to replace the water pump for the car because the water pump is cracked. Fine, if it's cracked, fix it. Then i wait for one more day. And finally they fixed it. They also showed me the cracked water pump. NOW. Here is the problem. the water pump is at good condition. No crack. Then they said it's leaking anyway. Can you guys believe that? They just want money! That's it read more

Uses genuine factory OEM parts and shows you exactly what was replaced. Also recommends against some repairs if not worth is and doesn't effect performance or safety. My 2006 Honda Odessey has over 180,000 miles on it and for car known for possible transmission it drives smooth as silk and the engine purrs like a kitten. Brought my Honda 2004 CRV when the engine light came on and when I tested it myself with the OBD2 tester, the error code indicated P2646 - and car was unable to go beyond 2nd gear. Googled and YouTube indicated exactly what needed to be done - the cleaning of two oil wells and replacement of two micro oil filters there. As they were rather troublesome to access on the sides of the engine block, I brought it here to resolve the issue. Car went in the morning and I quickly got vehicle back in the afternoon same day. Was told that they went through a lot to clean out the micro filter(s), changed the engine oil (to what grade and type, they could not remember) and problem solved (Cost to me was $200 cash). One week after that, engine light came on again. Tested with my trusty OBD2 tester and now showed engine spark-plugs misfired. Brought it back to have all spark plugs replaced (Cost to me was $60 additional). Fast forward to a couple of months later, engine light came on AGAIN! OBD2 tester showed the same original P2646 error code PLUS new spark plugs all misfiring. Opened the hood and could see through the engine crevices that one important micro-oil-well cap was hardly touched (with years of black grimes and such). Decided to DIY to get this tackled myself as I have lost faith to bring vehicle back for them to mess with it to claim yet another problem later. Kind of disappointed that they did only half the work required to completely resolve the issue in the first place or that they were not familiar with the workings of Honda VTEC engine, and now I am wondering if the spark plug misfiring was due to the P2646 error code issue.....
