I went to Baldwin eye clinic a year ago while in Daphne for business. Since my family and I are eventually moving to that area, I wanted to establish an optometrist. I had a great experience and I received my contacts within a week at my home in GA. When it was time for my yearly eye exam I once again made the appt at Baldwin eye clinic. Once again everything went without a hitch and I returned home a few days later thinking my contacts would once again be shipped to my home in GA. They were not. i received a text a week later stating they had been sent to the clinic. I called and asked why they weren't mailed to me directly since I'm unable to pick them up. It's over 4 hours from my home. I was told this was the third time this week this had happened and she wasn't sure what was going on but they would ship them to me. Okay, things happen, no big deal. Wrong! I just received a call from a different employee stating that since I never stated specifically that I needed them shipped to my home, I'd have to pay to have them sent UPS. When I made the appt I told them I was coming from out of town. When I checked in I told them I was from out of town. When I checked out I asked how long before they would be delivered. I never specifically asked for them to be sent to my house last visit or this visit. The lady I spoke with the second time was not very apologetic. Whether she believed I was to blame or not, she didn't handle it in a very professional manner and because of that they've lost an entire family of business. I, and my children, have been patients of the Daphne location Baldwin Eye Clinic for several years. Up until today, we had no issues. I scheduled an appointment for my daughter and myself. I was told when making the appointment, that masks were required. I have no objection to a mask requirement. But, because masks are seldom required, the date being November 16th, 2021, I did not, nor did my daughter have a mask. She is not required at school to wear one. And I had forgotten to get one to bring. My daughter walked in and asked if the clinic had any masks. The woman at the desk said she did, and they were $1 each. I was surprised that any business would charge a customer/patient for a cheap paper mask. I felt like I was at a carnival being asked to pay $10 for popcorn. Out of frustration, I told her we'll just go get one. She smirked and said, "OK". Her unhelpful insolent response aggravated me more. I decided this was not the kind of customer service I should accept. So, I then told her to cancel both mine, and my daughter's appointment. Her response was, "Have a good day!" I have rescheduled with another local Eye Clinic. I will let my other adult children/past patients know about this experience. If a restaurant required a mask, and you didn't have one, would they charge you for one as you enter to give them money? Very unwise business practice in my opinion. Highly recommend! My family was in Fort Morgan for a vacation, when my husband lost his glasses playing in the surf with our son. 9 hours from home, and with a car that had a window blown out by lightning, being able to see for the trip home was incredibly important. We called ahead and were able to verify that they had his script in stock. Their prices were affordable, so we took the hour and a half drive. They had been recommended by a optometrist in Gulf Shores, and we are so thankful. We had to hurry back for a mobile class repair appointment. When we explained our problem, everyone we spoke to in the place was incredibly helpful... even pointed us to a great place for lunch. If we lived here, we would definitely return. We had just moved here from Vancouver WA and we were looking for an Eye Doctor. We went to this place because it was close to where we live. This is the worst eye care center I've ever been to, they couldn't get my prescription right, and their service is terrible. I took my prescription to another Eye Doctor, and was retested. His words were, " No wonder you can't see, your prescription isn't even close to this." After paying for bad glasses from Baldwin Eye Clinic, he fixed my prescription (No Charge) and made me new glasses. Your eyes are the only ones you have, this is a place I would not recommend to anyone. It's just a revolving door of bad service. Even giving one star is giving it too many. From start to finish this place was phenomenal. I was on vacation and my last pair of contacts were ruined and I couldn't see. (I have a pretty strong prescription so getting contacts or glasses same day is next to impossible) I called this place hoping they'd be able to point me in the right direction. They got me in the same day and Dr. Bernard Scott was so thorough and caring. He spent well over an hour with me making sure I was able to see. Honestly the best eye doctor experience ever. I made an appointment for myself and for my 12 year old child. I scheduled them 2 hours apart so I could be in with her when they did her exam as she was nervous. I explained all this to the lady that made the appointments and then again when we arrived and we checked in. I was taken to the back and was told that once my eyes were dialated I could go to the waiting area and bring her back with me. I went in search of her and her eye exam had already been done. to say that I was very upset is an understatement. I asked for information on her "condition" since out of no glasses came that she needed bifocals. If this wasn't one of the few places that were covered under our insurance I would have gone somewhere else. We ordered her glasses as well as mine they have not arrived 2 weeks later even though we were told 7-10 business days. Ladies at front desk were rude. The doctor was hyper or on caffeine over dose. The docs are wonderful. I want to make that clear. I went 2 weeks ago to get lenses for some frames. I'm in the medical industry and deal with Covid testing daily.. The girl at the front was abrupt and rude.. she took my temp and proceeded to ask some ridiculous questions. Do I have a fever (she took my temp) Have I been around anyone with Covid Do I have shortness of breath Have I been tested for Covid Do I have any nausea today or previously Do I have cold symptoms.. After the interrogation, I said very calmly.. I would not be here if I was sick. Yes I've been tested for Covid multiple times .. (she said nothing to it) Cold symptoms?? What if I did? Good lord! So what if I've been tested for Covid. Yes, I've been around people with Covid. But I'm not sick. Then she escorted me to the reception desk where I was spoken to like I was a 4 year old in trouble.. She raised her voice at me when I told her I had seen on of the docs in Bay Minette... SHE IS NOT AFFILIATED with our clinic. She said the name of the clinic is confusing... but she would have to call them to get my prescription. She told me to go sit in the chair back at the front door until someone could help me with the lenses. The Covid screening person came up to me and asked me why i had sat back down. I was very kind and said I was told to. She then asked me again.. why I was there. Finally... a nice lady, Sylvia called my name and took me to her desk to discuss lenses. As she was typing in my information, I watched the front door.. a very attractive man walked in... the Covid question lady asked him what he needed.. he said he was there to look at frames. She did not ask him questions.. nor did she take his temp and told him to go right ahead. Oh and he was not wearing a mask.. (clearly this place said we have to be masked) Three elderly gentleman came in and she interrogated them as she did me. I do not know what she thinks she is doing.. take a temp.. I truly understand... but her questions harassing and do not help anyone stay healthy. If it hadn't been for Sylvia.. I would have immediately left and ordered on line. I wanted to buy local. After I pick the new ones up next week, I will not go back. Please note, the receptionists have been rude in the past as well.. I just didn't want to give up seeing Dr D. So, I'll drive to Bay Minette next time to see her. And they ARE AFFILIATED.. the Daphne clinic is owned by a doc and the BM one is owned by another. She interrupted every thing I was trying to say when I was trying to tell her my situation being I can't see and I'm a sonographer and rushed me off the phone. We tried this business. I got glasses from them no issue, so I sent my husband there. His lenses cracked in his glasses shortly after receiving them. He liked the dr but said he won't go back because the lady he spoke with on the phone was extremely rude. Today is his birthday and they were so rude to him. I read other reviews from people with the same issue. They just lost our business. This has happened to me quite a bit lately with local doctors offices. I will drive my family further away just to get all around good service and not put up with rude staff. read more

The doctor I saw was great but the optical staff I dealt with talked to me rudely. She was very pushy about what she thought rather than what I wanted. If my insurance company didn't cover some expense I wouldn't have even used them for my frames. However I did complain to the front desk and they did all they could to make it more pleasant. Terrible customer service! The exams are mediocre, at best, and not very thorough. Office staff is rude, they're slow. I ordered glasses the day of my appointment. Two weeks later I called to check in status and told they were backed up due to covid. Almost 5 weeks after that call, I called again! Turns out my glasses were ready same day and they failed to tell me that or call me. Heidi copped an attitude with me and made it seem like it was my fault that I didn't know my "glasses have been in the basket waiting to be picked up." This was my second visit. Dr Adcock has always been wonderful with my son! Heidi was also a great help in picking out his glasses and fitting him appropriately. But the front desk staff (one person in particular) is bad for business. She was rude when I asked questions about my sons coverage for frames/lenses. Her immediate response was "Do you have AllKids?" (With an eye roll and sigh, because obviously she has in issue with those who do) I told her no, we are a private pay insurance. She then repeatedly told me that we did not have pediatric coverage which I knew to not be true and it only got worse from there. I have spoken to the manager that assured me she would handle the situation. But after reading other reviews on FB and other websites I'm not sure anything will change. read more
