Dr. Turner hurt my eyes to the point that I cannot walk without a walker. When he took measurements…read morefor my cataract surgery he forgot that I had had LASIK surgery 20 years prior and said lens measurements would have been different. He said the double vision should subside; it didn't. Two weeks after surgery I fell and broke my neck. Seven weeks later, I fell and broke my back. He tried to correct it with glasses, but they didn't help. After many months he finally agreed to redo the surgery in my left eye; the redo of the left eye has helped, but I told him I was still having double vision in my other eye. He did a laser procedure to break up floaters in my right eye; it didn't help. Still had funny, distracting dizzy, bad vision. After healing from a broken neck and back, I still needed to use a walker because of the bad vision in my right eye. I fell again, while up on the walker and broke off the top of my humerus bone. I have pleaded with him to do a redo of my right eye because that eye still had the lens with the original wrong measurements. He refuses to correct any more of his mistakes. He is a good surgeon for cataracts ....until he refuses to correct mistakes he made. It is like he doesn't believe me that I am having problems with the other eye too. Now, he said that I should get another ophthalmologist. I am really disappointed in him. Forgot to mention that with my original he said that measurements would have been different for the replacement lens had he remembered about the prior LASIK surgery.

This is my new eye folks They are in my neighborhood and I've heard very good things about them…read more My honey and I went together for our initial appointments and I am totally blown away by these guys. Big beautiful waiting room that is very tastefully done with some very cool artwork done in-house. I have been back for a follow-up appointment, actually a test that I didn't complete on my visite these folks always have a smile and go out of their way to assist customers. It's very refreshing to see a bunch of friendly, efficient and professional folks in a great atmosphere, seriously. Back in Massachusetts, I had a close friend and fishing buddy who is an optometrist and he took really great care of me. However, when I moved to TN I switched to Pearle Vision and they did a pretty good job but I didn't know what I was missing. These folks at Alabama Coast Eye Clinic are totally up on their technology and wicked thorough. I filed out some thorough medical history, went through four (4) different machine tests, had two laser type exams, glucose and other tests and that was all before I saw the OD, seriously thorough. Let me tell you about my eye doc, Dr. David R. Felber is a 2001 graduate of Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis, TN. he's been in private practice since then and joined Alabama Coast Eye Clinic in June of 2015. His externships included performing eye exams for the U.S. Navy and working for one of the premier contact lens specialty clinics in the United States. he's got some Navy stuff on the walls and we talked about some of his Navy experiences, you know I like that :-) He's a super nice guy and I can tell you from experience this guy really knows his stuff and most importantly he really cares, BIG deal for me. He did the normal type exam in the chair and after some conversation he gave me a choice of just using some cheap readers or if I insisted I could get bifocal glasses. The Pearle people always sold me glasses, just sayin'. I have 3 pairs of readers form Pearle LOL and decided that I was good :-) he was concerned about a widening in some blood vessels in my eye so he asked me to contact my previous eye people and find out what my numbers were. (there's a specific technical designation of a vascular measurement) I contacted my friend in MA and gave the numbers to him on my follow up visit. His response was that the worst-case scenario is maybe eye drops in the future but no glaucoma for this guy, this is good. Bottom line: These from both front and back of the house are super friendly, professional and from your first phone call to your completed procedures they are a joy to work with. I have found my last eye place! Highly recommended!!

They tell majority of patients they need a glaucoma test that costs $25 even if there's literally…read moreno significant indication and charge you an additional $25 to forgo dilation, and this trend continues on and on until your $10 prescription update costs $130 dollars and you haven't even bought glasses yet! Per the reviews this is not only a place aimed at milking tourists but potentially with some shadiness with billing! we went through every part of my vision insurance and making sure that exactly what I needed was indeed covered- I did this with both her and an insurance rep from my plan! Not only could I have a hefty supply of contacts, but it also covered the annual visit or vision assessment with a choice of glasses or contacts! This is where I get a little confused because on top of all these extra charges for extra services I'm also getting charged for the "contact visit" per the office :(

Simone, the technician, walked me through a ton of tests, stayed low-key, patient, and totally put me at ease. Jenni in the boutique hooked me up with these gorgeous Chloe frames I've wanted forever... splurged even though they don't take my insurance. Worth every penny.
