The price is right, the service is great, and there's even a little antique set-up in the back if you're looking to buy some old and pretty things :) I highly recommend the omelets and it seemed like that's what everyone was ordering. We went for breakfast. It wasn't crowded and there were lots of servers standing around. Once we were served drinks and placed an order we saw no one. No drink refills and no updates on why eggs and bacon take 40 minutes to cook. Other tables looked equally unhappy. Although, a servers husband and sons came in and were served food promptly. Interesting! I have heard they have good lunch. Not sure we will give it a go. So very disappointing. Food was ok when it arrived but nothing was actually good. read more

So we were traveling through Georgetown this morning, looking for a breakfast place, and stopped here. The dining room was empty. There was one young couple sitting at the counter having breakfast when we sat down at 10:35 am. After a few minutes a served came over. Ordered coffee and tea. She brings them and asks what we'd like to order. "Umm...can we see a menu?" She brings two menus, then disappears for five minutes. The menus are for lunch and dinner. And we have no cream and sugar. When she returns we ask for cream and sugar. We brings them - no acknowledgement that she maybe should have asked earlier. "May we see breakfast menus?" "No, were not serving breakfast anymore". I look over at the only other customers who are eating eggs and toast. I check my watch - it's now 10:47. "Wow. We were really looking for breakfast. What time do you stop serving it"?. "We called it just before you sat down". Kinda weird answer - not 10:30, 11:00 - just sort of "whenever". Did we want to order lunch or dinner? No thanks. As my wife is paying for our coffee that we didn't drink, she overheard another employee ask our server if we had ordered anything. "Nah, they didn't want anything". And now I know why this place was empty. read more

This is a very busy small town place. If you're in a big hurry, go elsewhere. But, let me tell you, the food is worth the wait! Everyone is bustling to get your food as fast as they can. It is the best comfort food I've ever had. I highly recommend the Mac n cheese! The people are friendly, so I don't get the bad reviews on here. read more

B&Q is a very local-loyal resturaunt, even to the point that folks sit in the same place every day and if you happen to sit in their place, you get looked at by others. Food is good. Service is average. Parking lot usually crowded which is also a turn-off for trying to find a decent parking place so you can get in and get out. read more

I visit Georgetown frequently, and usually will have at least one meal at the Ball and Que with each visit. I have had breakfast meals, lunches and dinners, and they have always been very nice. A breakfast meal is of excellent quality, and reasonably price. The lunches and dinners are equally as good and if you want seafood it is excellent quality as the seafood is fresh not frozen, coming fresh from the local distributor. My vote is for an A+. read more

I give this place only three stars because I have been here before and really enjoyed the experience. However, the last two or three experiences have been not so good. The food is good, but today's breakfast was the last straw, putting a stop to our coming back ever again. Service is slow, but it wasn't totally our server's fault - she can only bring out the food as fast as the kitchen staff prepares it. We were sitting at the counter and could hear the lively banter coming from within, yet we still waited nearly 30 minutes for our meal to arrive. The sausage patties were cold, and hockey pucks, and home fries were just diced potatoes thrown into the fryer (or on the grill) to heat up - no onions or peppers and they charge an extra $0.50 for them! Server checked just once to see if we needed more coffee. Grits took up 2/3 of the plate, leaving little room for corned beef and eggs. Biscuits were nearly flat, a sin in the South as far as I am concerned! I was raised believing Southern biscuits were fluffy! Ball and Que, you won't see us again; we'll find a different place to have breakfast! read more

We go to this place as a family on a consistent basis weekly. This is a great place to eat for local homecooking type food. Fried Chicken, Pirlo, collard greens and don't miss the cobbler. The staff is very very friendly. This is definitely a locals type place. read more

My go-to place for a burger and fries that aren't served out of a window. It's a great place to grab a bite when you're not looking for a nice dinner out. Their food is good -- hamburger steak, grilled cheese, lunch specials -- all typical diner fare. It's their Que burger that keeps me coming back though. They've got cake and pie by the slice for sale on the counter by the register. The 15 layer caramel cake is my favorite. read more

The Ball N Cue is a must for lunch in Georgetown, SC. It actually does not have pool tables any longer but boasts a resale/consignment store in the back of the restaurant. One can eat and browse! Recently moved to the area & came on the recommendation of our neighbor. Not much to look at outside & inside is a true home-town flair. Friendly staff, good down-home southern cooking & a great value make this a staple for locals. They serve breakfast, lunch and supper with daily specials. You can get anything from a burger & fries to a pork tenderloin dinner plate with choice of sides like baked potato & green beans or southern traditions like carrot salad & field peas. The portions are large and come out piping hot. We've been here a half dozen times now & everything we've tried has been excellent & prepared exactly as ordered. If you are looking for a casual restaurant that knows how to make you feel like a local, give this a try. read more

The Ball and Cue has the most incredible 14 layer Caramel cake I have ever had. That is if you can get someone to wait on you. During a recent visit, after the lunch rush, my wife and I went in to have a quick bite at the lunch counter. The food was adequate, but nothing more. We had the fried chicken, which was OK. We also had the cheese steak, which was smallish for the price. However, the reason for this poison pen was that we asked, before we ordered, was there any Caramel Cake. The waitress, too lazy to look, said she was sure there was cake. My wife and I had been on a diet for several months. All we wanted was a break from diet food. Needless to say, our disappointment was evident on our faces. On a good note, we found almost as good a caramel cake at The Big Tuna. It only had twelve layers and the icing was not as rich. This brings me to another point. The service was painfully slow. People had to come to the counter to get service. Two men came in and sat at one end of the counter. After 15 minutes they left. While we were eating, two dirty plates remained on the counter beside us during our entire meal. During all of this there were no less than five waitresses on duty. We won't be back. No cake and no excuses. read more

The food is pretty good, but my biggest problem is the service. I ate there twice in one week and both times the lady who handles the call-in orders failed to provide adequate service. First, I asked for plasticware and she said that it was in the container, so I trusted that it was and left only to find out that it wasn't included. During my second visit, I ordered pineapple upside down cake with my meal only to find out once I left the restaurant that she gave me some kind of banana cream cake. I highly recommend that you check AND double check your take-out orders and do NOT trust that she got it right the first time...I hope she reads this and does a better job. read more

Love the Ball N Cue.! The fried chicken is wonderful but it's always freshy fried so it does take a little while. Service has always been great! The club sandwich is one of the best I have had. The food is pretty good, but if they are the slight bit busy please do not call your order in, because they take their phone off the hook so they don't have to answer it. Make sure to check your order before leaving, they have been known to leave some things out. Also the older waitresses can be quite rude over the phone. read more
